The worst that can happen given those conditions? The WiiLoader becomes nothing more than a cup coaster. The Wii hardware remains intact. Will have to purchase a new version of it once it's out. 20 bucks down the drain (40, if I purchase the new one) but it's really not all that bad for me. I've got a bunch of Japanese Wii titles so it all makes up for it.
The best that can happen? The WiiLoader continues to work.
I'm taking the chances.
