How about Chris Sarandon as Brook? He did Jack Skellington in "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
-
3/15 Title - Enter King Eneru! Farewell to Survivors
-
Someone confirm this for me.
>>Gilbert Gottfried - Foxy the Silver Fox: One Piece.
It's wonderful news but I think it's fictional. So anyone deeper in these matters than I, I ask for verification.
That information is about as reliable as Hulk Hogan voicing Franky. However amusing or good it may be, it's not happening.
I'm going to have to second Tim Curry for Brook. Him or Slash if they can get him. I mean, Brook's appearance is heavily based on that of Slash.
-
They promised an all-star cast, so I'm expecting no less than Samuel L. Jackson.
-
Bruce Campbell's gotta voice someone, who? No idea, he could voice the entire cast if he wanted.
-

He should definitely do the voice of Gaimon, that'd be perfect.
And also, he could use an anime role where he's got a significant amount of dialogue. I mean seriously, the most disappointing thing about "Afro Samurai" was that it was an anime marketed as starring Samuel L. Jackson, yet Samuel barely had any lines as Afro. Just a gimmick.

He had enough lines as Ninja Ninja, I think it balanced out.

Who was that, the old guy that followed him around. I'm honestly not one to talk since I didn't watch every episode.
-
I only saw episode 1, and that was on the computer. I didn't have cable at the time of it's airing, but it seemed pretty fucking boring from episode 1.
-
Well… I really just don't know how to say this... But I got some bad bad news. It looks like... we were wrong. FUNi's One Piece dub really couldn't make a difference. The advanced grids at the end of March reads as this:
9:00pm -- Naruto
9:30pm -- Naruto
10:00pm -- Bakugan
10:30pm -- Blue Dragon
... I'd like to stay optimistic and just say that it's "Taking a break!" but... Man, I just don't know anymore. FUNi's big plan to make it successful...
Oh, yeah. Don't report this to Toon Zone since they don't like this kinda thing.
-
Did Moltar leak this? For crying out loud, this was not suppose to get out.
-
@Yuugi's:

Moltar isn't the only one with one of these.
But like I said… Just don't tell... Well, you know by now.
-
I expect no advertisments of this change.
-
I was hoping this would not get out so soon, dang. Well, there's still time for change but can I suggest we contact MacFarland? Maybe FUNimation is taking a break to work on Season One or another title?
-
Like I said, I'd love to stay optimistic… But I know CN all too well. Besides, hasn't FUNi reported to have done way more episodes then what would be shown by the end of March?
-
Awww One Piece is gonna lose it's spot? Not fair. I have wanted to see the Blue Dragon anime for awhile though. Should be interesting.
-
Wow, that's the worst news I've heard in a long time. Well, again let's stay optimistic.
-
Best case scenario is that Funi requested some time to make some headway into Skypiea and/or East Blue. The way they're doing it, they might as well be dubbing two shows at the same time.
-
I can't believe that One Piece got the behind for Bakugan.
I'm staying optimistic that this is only temporary too, but didn't Funi say they're done with the Skypiea arc? -
What the hell? Bakugan and Blue Dragon?
I really hope this isn't right. I know those advanced grids have been wrong before.
But seriously, what the hell?

Wot?
Wot?
WOT THE FUCK? SOMEONE AT CARTOON NETWORK IS DESERVING OF A PISTOL WHIPPING.

Wow, just wow, with the exception of Bakugan which is Nelvana, it's like Viz just bought Toonami. Well even if CN stops showing it, it's not like it'll stop the DVD releases, it'll just become another Yu Yu Hakusho.
It's very possible it's taken a break though. Adult Swim did the same thing with Bleach. Bleach went off the air for about 4 months for Death Note, and they JUST started showing New episodes again (the showed a few prior repeats to "catch" everyone up and the first new episode is this Saturday)
But of course their precious Naruto STILL has an hour slot.
DAMN YOU NINJAAAAAAS! (insert shaking fist smilie here)
-
Funi had better not screw everyone over by dropping One Piece.
Leave it to CN to dedicate an entire hour to Naruto. Might as well rename Toonami "Naru-nami".
-
I'm fine with it taking a break. Hopefully someone from Funi can clarify as to what's going on.
As it stands, fuck Naruto. C/N just can't get their lips off of Viz's dick.

What the HELL? That's the worst schedule I've ever seen. =[
Naruto is stuck in crappy fillers, Bakugan sux (and the only good part is the cool Japanese OP) and I've never even seen or heard of Blue Dragon.
-

Even that's in danger if this comes to past. Toei wants One Piece to be successful here and a big part of that is it's being on tv. If it gets booted off… Well, I'm sure most of ya'll know how hasty Toei is when something doesn't go quite their way.
EDIT: Okay... Here's something that MAY soften the blow a bit. Right before it goes off, One Piece starts airing reruns in the middle of March (Zoro's past filler and the first episode of Rainbow Mist... so, yes, the 4Kids dub). Sooooo... That may mean that CN doesn't have the other episodes to air yet.
So hopefully once they do... They'll continue airing it. Of course it's entirely possible that they may not pick up more episodes... Gah, I really hate being unsure about One Piece's fate here in America. I really do.
-
Hmmm. That's odd. I wonder if doing double duty was a little too much for FUNi to handle. I'd be okay with the show going off for a month or two, and then coming back with a larger amount of new episodes. They could even time it with the release of Season 1 on DVD and pimp that out.
Still, this whole situation is curious.
-
I don't understand what's bringing this on. I thought the ratings for the show were increasing. For God's sake, they JUST gave Funi the rights to the toys, and the first film just came out.
And not only that, but Funi's dub of DBZ was such a huge hit for Cartoon Network. . .you would think they'd WANT more stuff from Funi.
And what's this about reruns airing in March? The last fucking thing we need is for the 4kids reruns to come back. SERIOUSLY.
-
CN changes their schedule so frequently that for now I'm going to hope that this changes up before it comes to be.
It's just baffling right now.
-
I'm just going to wait and see what will happend in the next couple of weeks before I jump on the bandwagon.
-
It's either…
A) They need to pick up more episodes.
or
B) Contrary to belief, the ratings just weren't enough for CN and... they decided what we fear.
-
There's a possibility it might go to Jetstream. I hope not, but it's a possibility.
-
All I know is if it's option B… FUNi's whole plan for the series just went down the shit tube.
Even with the DVDs. I'm sure Toei won't be happy if it's tv deal is gone for good. And when they're not happy...
-
I'm shocked, I'm appalled, I'm a bit saddened, but I guess I'm not all that surprised. I knew Cartoon Fucking Network would pull some shit like this. I just don't know what to think.
This could be a result of the new dub failing anyway despite FUNi's undying ambition to make it succeed (which I of course am extremely thankful that they're putting so much work into the series), or it could just be Cartoon Network pulling from their schedule temporarily so FUNi can dub more episodes. That would be okay with me, if it lets FUNi dub more episodes and it eventually returns to TV.
The uncertainty is painful, but what'll be even more painful if the new dub gets cancelled. That's what I was afraid of, FUNi losing the rights.
-
So does the supposed last episode that CN has the same as the last one with the current opening and ending? Sorry if this was asked.
-
I'd reeeally like some official word on what this means.
Keep in mind, this wouldn't be the first time One Piece has disappeared from the schedule for a while and returned.
-
The only good way this can turn out is if OP is going on a break through the summer, and C/N is going to bring it back in the fall for an hour at a time.
-
Keep in mind, this wouldn't be the first time One Piece has disappeared from the schedule for a while and returned.
True.
And a bunch of premiere 4Kids episodes DID air right before the FUNi episodes. -
Oh…well...crap. o_o Fucking CN. I was scared they'd pull this shit.
So does this mean no new episode this week? T_T I am saddened. Hopefully it'll come back really soon.
-

No, we still got two more episodes. Then we get two 4Kids reruns. Then it goes off the schedule.
-
If they don't air a preview on that second new episode, I'll assume the worst.
-

Aww, crap. DX Well, gotta enjoy them while they're still there.
-
@Tommy:

Well… They're not. Besides the show's own preview.
-
-
Well, Funi still has One Piece as one of it's featured shows, and the latest OP news is Funi acquiring OP's merchandising rights.
_> Stupid optimism. I wish we'd get a straight answer.
-
Which is why I'm mad. They just acquired those rights, and CN just dumps the show off the line up, effectively throwing that into the shit pool.
I mean, it's always possible that it's only taking a break. But…. I just don't know this time.
-
How many episodes ran before the drop?
-
About 20, I believe.
22 if you count the coming ones.
