Yeah,you see it in the way he just powers his characters up more and more,ad absurdum to make the story stay "interesting" for younger readers.
You're not allowed to talk
Every shonen fighting manga pulls that shit.
Luffy never powers up EVER
Best Villians Mercenary Tao
Aku no Demon King Piccolo
Majin Buu (all forms)
-Tao was just awesome. he killed a guy with his tongue, and traveled by throwing a log and jumping on it. Tao was the epitome of the classic Kung-Fu villain.
-Demon King Piccolo was great. He had the best defeat out of any villain too.
-Buu was just awesome. He was funny in all forms, even when getting the crap kicked out of him by mystic Goku. I liked his relationship with Hercule too~
Ill just ignore that.
And yes,he powers up,but the Luffy/Blueno fight in EL was the first MAJOR power up in ages.
@Cap'n:

….Damn you. I actually took your post seriously for a second until I saw your username.
Ill just ignore that.

He powers up every arc. He got stronger during skypea just because of where he was fighting. The air pressure made his body stronger.
I stil say MR. Satan is a beter name then Hercule,but the guy was stil a bastard.
And I thought Buu's later forms up to Majin Buu (included) were kinda retartded,after they wasted that good looking skiny form.

I tried to decipher what you said…but...How was Mecha Frieza "wasted"? He basically only existed to introduce Trunks and show that even as Super Saiyans they wouldn't be ready for the "new enemies". After Goku beat him his role was over.
And Cooler wasn't even in the manga.

Yes, Cooler is in the manga, thank you for demonstrating your knowledge of the subject matter.
@Lobster:
Aku no Demon King Piccolo
You just butchered his name
Lobster is trying to be wapanese.
LOLZ, dub n00b.
16 Elitist characters.
@Cap'n:
You just butchered his name
It was intentional tho' :D
Everything that Lobster Pot-Sticker does is for a purpose~
I ment "Cold" but theyre easy to mistake.
And it was intended to be a reply to "Tokoro Ataru"
@Lobster:

the purpose is that you're a dummy
Incidentally, I liked how Toriyama just gave Picollo Jr. his daddy's name 'cause he was too lazy to come up with a new one.

Yhea, its really not that easy to mistake entirely different characters who don't appear in the same medium/form of a story with eachother.
The 5 minutes on namek hardly took hours too.
Incidentally, I liked how Toriyama just gave Picollo Jr. his daddy's name 'cause he was too lazy to come up with a new one.
Well they're techincally the same person. Piccolo is both Daimou's son and his reincarnation. If he was an entirely different person than he wouldn't have that link with Kami.
Go back and watch/read that part and say it to my face.
And I WAS writing COld bit after wiritng FREEZER,the OLER kinda poped in.
Why would he remember a minor character that he created, and then quickly killed off 20 years ago, anyhow?
1.he was a major villian in early dragon ball
2.when the hell did he die?(goes back to archives)
3.How can you forget a guy that flys around with a pillar?
Incidentally, I liked how Toriyama just gave Picollo Jr. his daddy's name 'cause he was too lazy to come up with a new one.
Well, they were technically still the same person unless I'm mistaken. That's why Kami-sama still lived after he coughed up Ma Jr.
Pretty much "reborn" and improved.
edit: damn it Zephos beat me
@Lobolover:

Your opinion is now void
@Radical:

A "major villain" that didn't even stick around for a volume, then came back for a few chapters only to be humiliated and never show his face again. It's not like you're asking him to remember Vegeta, here.
@Radical:
2.when the hell did he die?(goes back to archives)
Okay, okay, "was gotten rid of".
@Radical:
3.How can you forget a guy that flys around with a pillar?
You do when you're coming up with that shit every week for an entire decade.
I think Tao Pai Pai didnt die at all,he even re-apeared mecha like in the tournament. The anime people then used the fact no one killed im to put him into two fillers.

You're wrong. He came back as a Cyborg. If you count filler, than he was in a DBZ episode as well.
Yeah in 2,reall big shot.
Tao Pai Pai was a huge deal back in the day (he was the "first enemy" to beat Goku, not counting Chun), but yeah, he didn't stick around for long.
I think Blue actually lasted longer than he did.
And I can sympathize with him. I can barely remember shit I wrote last year, let alone 15 years ago when I'm 50 years old and have written thousands of other things.
@Cap'n:

Okay, okay. But while Piccolo Sr.'s soul essence was a part of Jr.'s body, they still turned out to be two completely different people. Kami says Jr. isn't as evil as his father right at the beggining of DBZ. He wasn't a complete "demon". So it's kinda weird.
And it's pretty funny all the confusion it spawned for years for all the people who hadn't watched DB first. They only Goku and Piccolo had previously fought before, but they'd be all like, "WTF? There was more than one?" every time his history was brought up during Z.
@Really:
You're wrong. He came back as a Cyborg. If you count filler, than he was in a DBZ episode as well.
Why would we count filler if were talking about Toriyama?
And how is he wrong? Taopipi came back for a few chapters (as a cyborg) than got humiliated and never showed up again.
@Really:
You're wrong. He came back as a Cyborg. If you count filler, than he was in a DBZ episode as well.
I mentioned the Cyborg, and I don't count those shitty fillers. I'd rather just think that he learned his lesson and became a nice guy after Tenshinhan spared his life. Then, him and Tsurusennin turned to religion and opened an orphanage.
Yeah, Cyborg Tao Pai Pai was the biggest letdown ever
he got chumped by Tenshinhan
At least he made Chao Tsu cry.
Because he came back and got humiliated TWICE.
@Really:
Because he came back and got humiliated TWICE.
…..No, only once.
@Really:
Because he came back and got humiliated TWICE.
Try once.
Because it was once.
Well…My bad. I was counting his first "comeback" as when he beat Goku, then came back for a rematch to get the Dragonball. The second one being the Cyborg.
@Cap'n:
Yeah, Cyborg Tao Pai Pai was the biggest letdown ever

Tenshinhan was still a bad-ass back then, though. Maybe he could've kicked Kuririn's ass too. He definitely could have kicked Yamcha's ass.
And I liked how Tenshinhan redeemed himself and let go of his past by beating him.
So hey Lobo, you never answered my question braw.
Yeah, but Goku pretty much proved he was a chump in the next fight.
Too bad Chi-Chi wasn't worth a damn either, but at least she got to the final few rounds.
He made Goku sweat a little.
But okay, you've proved your point. The "human" characters started being neglected right around then. But I still think Toriyama managed to give every one of the characters a fun fight, which is why I love that arc.
And Goku vs. Piccolo was fucking epic. Definitely one of the best fights in the series.
I did read it ,but not the whole thing,dont have time fer that,I study,yeh know.
Yeah, Goku and Piccolo definitely outclassed everyone, but the others put up good fights. I just like to rag on Tenshinhan.
Kuririn especially. He actually impressed Piccolo.
Yamcha's the most fun to rag on.
He got beat up by an old man, LOLZ.
It never ocured to me that Picollo was SO high above the other Z fighters,compared to Goku.But thats shity VS's stuff and I dont wanna get into that.
At that point, he was. Then during the Freeza saga for two seconds. And during the Cell saga, when he took charge.
Then he become God, which is probably the best thing that ever happened to him in the series. Man, Toriyama should did a lot of stuff with him. You could tell he was his favorite.
But he didnt really have all that much screentime in the majority of DBZ.
Yes, Tao returned as a bad @ss Cyborg and sliced up Tien's chest. =D Then in DBZ he busted a cap in Goku's face during the Cell Saga!!
What a gangsta' :O
Sure he did. The only time he was kinda gone was during the Freeza saga, and he come up in big a way when the Freeza fight got underway. During Cell, he pretty much took charge for most of the arc, and even when Goku came back at the end, he was still pretty prominent.
He pretty much stopped fighting after that, but he was prominent during the Buu arc too, giving the z warriors a hand.
