And honestly, Evolution Z is kind of moot, since when you can beef up your "weak" guys, they can pretty much beef up their higher level guys just as much.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
-
-
It's pretty much a lose/lose situation. I'd love to make some kick ass customs of Tao, Arale, Chaotzu, and others. Kinda makes me wish we got an awesome Dragonball game, but DBZ overshdaows DB by a large scale in the US.
-
Damn, I just got Budakai Tenkaichi 2, now this somes out…
-
Surprisingly, I prefer Tenkaichi 3 a hell lot more than 2.
-
Oh no, a man on the internet called me a fag. Woe is me…
Anyway, diss the game all you want, the balance is much better in this game. SSJ4 Gogeta was noticably nerfed; his Ultimate Impact has short range and can't be steered, his combos certainly aren't the fastest or the strongest (which would be Burter/Kid Buu and Oozaru Baby respectively), his ultimate move is only slightly stronger than the likes of the GT villains, or the suicidal supers, and his defense is only average. I can destroy him easy with several Z characters, and Oozaru Baby. And that's on that final Mission 100 where he's beefed up ridiculously.
But hey, people will complain. People on these boards seem to love to. Me, I'm enjoying the game immensely.
Actually, the cheapest, "noob"est people online are the ones who spam the hell out of certain moves. Usually Kid Buu's Mystic Combination, any other rush attacks, or Ii Shinron's Blazing Storm. Of course, those are easy enough to counter, but hey; lil' kids think it wins them matches.
-
What were you expecting? A new one comes out every year. Budokai 1-3: 2002-2004, Tenkaichi 1-3: 2005-2007. Is the new series gonna be Burst Limit?
-
So from what I've gathered here, online play sucks and the GT characters are overpowered SOBs?
Another rental for me.
-
Online sucks? yes. GT characters overpowered? No. Hell, I can tell you right now someone at Spike loves Cell, 'cause that bastard got a huge boost.
-
It can lag all it wants, but online still keeps me interested in the game, and actually inspires me to improve. Though Dragon History isn't as good as Budokai's story mode, it's worked much differently and actually interesting how it works out. Much better than 2's "Let's do every possible battle from every saga and movie."
-
Oh no, a man on the internet called me a fag. Woe is me…
He can do that because you guys have the same rank
Yeah I rented this one and (unsurprisingly) Arale was my favorite character and SS4 Goku was broken. I still can't believe Baby and the army of EVIL DRAGON fags got in.
-
I kinda wanna trade in all my previous Dragonball Z games and get this one with the store credit I get from them… But I don't think I'm going to get much.
I don't want to pay for it all the way, since it's probably extremely similar to Sparkling/Tenkaichi 2... What to do, what to do...
-
Oh wow, you can beat someone with Oozaru Baby. Unbelievable.
I just want a damn game where you can fight as Mr. Satan and be able to actually beat someone.
What's the point of OH HEY NO ONE FLINCHES FROM HIS ATTACKS AH HA HA HA HA WHAT A SILLY GUY
-

Most fighting games have a comic relief character, and unfortunately Satan happens to be Dragon Ball's answer to Dan.
-
Though you can actually beat someone using Dan.
-
Yeah. Mr. Satan in these games is just…. useless. Completely.
-
@Sandai:
Though you can actually beat someone using Dan.
Yeah, most gag characters can actually hold their owns.
Satan is just a lost cause.
-
@Sandai:

Same with Mr. Satan. It's just a lot harder, and you gotta pray at times that your supers will actually do anything.
-
Budokai 3 actually made it easier to use Satan but for obvious reasons in the Sparking games this is different.
-
Yeah, now I noticed that his attacks don't do any damage at all, and that's just a waste of space.
-
Yeah..but it's true to the character. But I suppose if they don't make Sanji impossible to fight against female characters there's no reason Satan can't kick everyone's ass.
-
The only attack that gives him any kind of advantage is the Present Bomb
Assuming you don't get punched mid-animation
-
Present Bomb sucks now. It was better in Budokais 2 and 3 when he gave them a Game Boy and a Game Gear. Did copyright ruin that?
-
is there an easy way to get the Dragon Balls in this, I'm having trouble finding them
oh, and Pilaf Robo is badass -
Just memorize which stage you found them in and where.
-
Just memorize which stage you found them in and where.
you, mean you can only find them in certain stages in Adventure mode?:wassat:
-
You can't find them during multiplayer games, for obvious reasons. Only in story mode and (I think) the different tournament modes (though not including the Tenkaichi Budokai arena).

final question
is there only a red dragon? -
No. You find Shenlong as well. Dunno about Polunga.
-
Yeah, there's Shen Long, Porunga, and the Red Shen Long. The one you get is random.
I think Porunga only gives powerup items and money. But you get three.
-
is it just random after you get all the dragon balls because I found them all once and got red dragon so I wished for ChiChi
-
Yeah, it's random.
-
-
I retract my earlier statement cause I been playing somes Mr. Satan's on Budokai 3.
DYNAMITE KICK!
-

Why are you plugging that faggot nonsense in other threads now?
and I think I may get the english version of this.
Only played one and the demo of 2, so I may end up enjoying this.
Is story mode as tedious as I heard the last one was?(Flying and landing to walk up to one character for text based speeches seemed EXTREMELY tedious and unnecessary.)
I may just end up getting it for world tournament stage alone.(like the free flight accompanied with ring outs)
-
Story mode is much, MUCH better handled in this one
there aren't a million cutscenes, and a bunch of the talking is done during fights
A given stage or mission can have several fights in it. For example, instead of there being five hundred different stages for fighting Nappa, there's (I'm pretty sure) only one.

Every fight against Nappa, including Goku's, is covered in a single mission.
-
Yeah
And most of the movies only have one mission too (a few have 2)
Too bad there weren't more Dragon Ball missions. At least there's one where you play as Arale to kick Blue's ass.
-
It was fun playing as arale. and I don't get how some people say it's hard to figh her in the what if saga cause I beat her with no problem. The hardest fight for me was if you don't be king piccolo using the second command you have to fight Tambourine with kid chi chi. he's a fucking brick wall to her.
-

Wut?
I don't get it. :wassat:
-
Yeah I never had that problem
-
I didn't even understand what he was getting at.
-
I'm not entirely sure either
-
When you fight king piccolo in Dragonball saga you press the first command option that appears. Then they talk and such, Then don't press the second one that appears and beat him normally.
Then Tambourine will come and him and Goku talk and Chi-chi comes and you fight Tambourine with her.
This video explains it better than I do.
dGvKorxqlk8 -
Didn't know Ryusei voiced Tambourine but on another note none of that music is in the American version is it?
-
Piccolo Daimaou looks awesome.
Kinda disappointed that I won't be able to stand up to any of the more used characters with him though

dGvKorxqlk8Ahh. I had absolutely no idea about that. Originally I just kicked Daimao's ass normally with the whole command pressing and what not.

Yeah, quite a number of the Dragon Ball cast worked together before Z. Some during Dragon Ball and even during Dr. Slump. As for the music, no. None of the Japanese music is in there.
Want Super Survivor? Tough luck. Atari gives us the instrumental version if you live in the US. :\
-
Pedro Style NOOOOOOoooooooo Not like I didn't already know but like the old saying goes the truth hurts.I evny you lucky bastards with credit cards/money orders,Fliptops/Swapmagic.
-
I actually didn't import the third title. I imported the first two, but not the third. Mainly cause of lack of money and I can't friggen find the pieces that I had for my slim model Swap Disc since they fell out when I was moving.
-
At least if you wanted to import something it wouldn't be much stopping you the first & last game I ever imported was Grand Battle Rush, makes me wish I had found out about Game Copy Pro sooner. Now all I can do is sit back and watch as all those games come out and pray that they come out in the U.S. with a Dual Audio option for certain games.
-
I bought the US version of the first one
learned my lesson, DLed and burned the latter two
