@Cap'n:
I liked the ending because it was a great closure to the series.
Yeah, people dying is always a bummer. But after a while I just kind of accept it.
Exactly. Probably one of the best shounen endings I've seen. I mean compared to yu yu hakusho, DBZ, Black cat, and other shounen series with lame endings, this one was excellent.
!
If only Kurei had finished the damn job. >_>
! I knew it was coming.(Tried to fight kogenei going "we may not get the chance again later") but I was young and didn't want to believe. I even went "this is shounen, they wont kill him.
! but they did. ='(
One thing I wish they did was make a fighting game(I like playing my favorite series. =P)
I mean its got the cast for a great fighter. All it got was one of those boring cutscene battlers tho on the PS2. Like the old Snes yu yu games. (LOL, even more suggestion that it copied yu yu. XP)
but yea, I really recommend this series to anyone looking for a good manga. Took me a while to pick it up after the crappy anime concluded( I read it all tho, not just from the end of the tournament) but it was really worth it.
and I never really hated Kurei. I mean somethings he did made me go. "Goddamn. That was pretty fucked up/a bitch move" Like when he beat Neon, but I never really hated the dude.
One thing I always hate is how they make the antagonist look to be pure evil, and then do the ol' switch a roo and hes just misunderstood, and good at heart.
I just find it hard to see a dude who beat his comrades as bad as he beat Neon, to be really good at heart. It makes me wonder if things like that were often tacked on. I mean if you plan that hes really good, you dont have him step on his comrades head like that.
