Tomorrow is DST! why is DST so early?
Daylight saving time
-
-
I think it's lame. I don't like daylight savings time.
-
All Ben Franklin wanted to do was save on candle wax, Cosmic ):
-
And why are we still trying to save candle wax? XD
-
Daylight savings time is hilarious, we push forward an hour BECAUSE HUMANS CAN MANIPULATE TIME. Seriously though, five minutes ago it was 3:45, and now it's 4:49; seems kind of silly to me.
-
They're doing it for bussinesses to make more money. It's freaking obvious, too.
-
ZA WARUDO
waits an hour
basically thats whats really happening
-
Cosmic, You should move to Saskatchewan, Canada. We got it right the first time. ;)
(SK does not have daylight savings time) -
Soooo dumb. Lost an hour of sleep. And now all the clocks in my house have the right time again. It was nice to look at them and think, OHOHO, I actually have an hour more than that.
-

(SK does not have daylight savings time)Niether does Arizona, and I think one or two other states in the US.
Ugh, the DST messed with me, I couldn't get up for church and I felt all disoriented when I did get up. My biological clock still says it's earlier. I know it's only one hour but somehow it still messes with my head.
-
I didn't even notice the missing hour at all. It's weird, because usually the missing hour hits me like a sack of potatoes. Then again, it's probably because I'm sick and feel tired and crappy anyway >.<
-
daylights saving time give me daylights lol

really. I never knew that. cool. Thanks.
-
I think this is a bunch of crap. I'm a very nocturnal person, and this is just screwing things up.
-
I freaking love daylight savings time!
I like when it's lighter later! <3
-
Oh come on guys really?? T^T How could anyone dislike it? You don't like the extra daylight? I LOVE having the extra light in the evening! You can do so much more! It sucks in Japan, 8:30 and it's already dark even in June.
-
^when i go to bed i have to get up an hour earlier
so no
-
in saskatchewan, in the winter, when it stayed dark in the morning, till almost 9am, mmm, it was so relaxing, so peacful.
My first spring in Ontario, I freaked for a moment when all of a sudden, the sun was setting an hour earlier.
-
Although I do enjoy the fact that it is lighter later in the day, I still don't like it, I always screw up and end up late for everything:sad:
-
"it's not natural" :3
-
when i go to bed i have to get up an hour earlier
For one day? That's easily rectified if you go to sleep one hour earlier.
One day of one lost hour isn't worth countless days of summer fun?
-
Summer fun? On weekends maybe, but I don't really sit down and get to work until it's dark outside. I need good indoor lighting to do my artwork, and I can't really focus on it when it's a glorious day outside. Basically, this just means fewer work hours for me, and when I do draw late, it means less sleep time, which means more daytime sluggishness, which means more naps, which leads to skipping or sleeping during classes, which means a repeat of my last semester.
I don't know why you're so shocked that someone could disagree with you, I honestly enjoy going out and having fun at night than during the day, except on occasions where we go to the state park…
-
It doesn't bother me after the first day. Damn kids.
-
Well at least come summer, I won't have to start the day in unbearable heat and humidity-just intolerable heat and humidity. Other than that, I prefer an extra hour of sleep. I'm lazy that way.
-
Meh, ever since I got out of high school, I've given less than two shits about it.
-
Niether does Arizona
ha ha i was getting ready to say that to
but it sucks because my family is on the east coast and that mean they will be 3 hours ahead of me again(instead of 2 like it is now
-

Oh, not shocked, just makes me a sad panda. Different strokes!
-
(SK does not have daylight savings time)
I still have to follow it though. =p
I always get thrown way off whenever the Daylight Savings Time ends or begins. Didn't find out about this change until about ten minutes after waking up, thinking it was almost noon. >_>;
-
I'm not a big fan of summer fun myself, I much more enjoy winter fun.
Give me mountains and nice cool weather to hike or ski rather than hot weather that makes me tired and sluggish. I live right near the beach in Southern California, go figure. XD -
Don't really make any difference to me, sure the hour is missed when you wake up still tired….but apart from that, no difference really.
-

You used to live in SK? Whereabouts?
I don't have to change my clocks, LUCKY ME.
/me would be too lazy anyways -
Yes there is a difference…when you have to get up really early it's still dark, and then it gets darker later. This is particularly sucky during the beginning of summer when it doesn't get dark until after 9pm. And you have to wait for your upstars, non-air-conditioned room to cool down before you can sleep well.

Yea….but that's in Americaland, over here in the UK.....our summers aren't excactly warm anyways so...and as for the sleep...hmmm....I can't say it makes much difference really to me, sure you're tired for a day or two, but you quickly get sorted around so.

Local-chan's perspective: "it doesn't matter what other people deal with in other places, only the things that affect me matter"
I want to go where summers aren't hot :P
-
Oh come on, my perspective aint that clear, in fact its very very VERY twisted…. gimme some credit XD
But yea, thats why its sometimes awesome to live in a colder place, cus when it gets warm....it aint as warm as most other places. (Our Summer is like your Spring) tho plenty of rain...I do like rain. Rain is gooooood.
Anywho, on the topic of Daylight savings, yea, I do admit, sometimes it can cause a hassle, but you have to remember, it is literally only an hour you are using, there are....umm.....I aint gonna do the math right now, but there are a lot of hours in a year, surely you can miss one? XD
-
Nobody's missing an hour, days aren't really any shorter or longer. Like I said, it just gets ligheter and darker later and I'm not fond of that.
Both my boyfriend and I don't like the heat. Especially him. Quite frankly I'm tired of hearing him rant and rave about it being warm all the time. I think we need to move northbound.
-
…..............are you like....vampires? Cossie?
-
He jokes about that a lot…hisses and shakes his fist at the sun and calls it the cursed ball of fire.
I like the sun...just don't like temperatures above 70 F except for in the summer. If it would just stay cool from fall to spring, and then get hot in the summer, it would be fine, but NO, we have to get these 90 degree heat waves in the WINTER. Immediately following a record cold that killed all the poor plants that aren't used to snow-cold weather. Make up your mind already! And only 2 inches rain this year.
-

Don't come here. I'm sure many are familiar with my rants on lack of central heating in Japan. Well the same holds true for summer. Not only that, but since electricity is so expensive, running just a fan during the night isn't even economic. They come equipped with timers so the bill doesn't run too high.
ugh….

ok, yes problem. My biological clock is really sensitive when it comes to sleep. It gets messed up very easily. for instance, if I get woken up at 3am, from a noisy roomate, I will automaticly wake up the next night at 3am. noise or not. It's hard to break out of that patern for me. And even if I stay awake till 3am, I will still wake up at the same time I wake up every day. say 7am. so don't even talk to me about sleeping in. XD
@Taboo. block your window in your bedroom. My roomate has double curtains on his, and I swear, it's mid day, and you couldn't tell from his room.
I'm not a big fan of summer fun myself, I much more enjoy winter fun.

@cinder: I'll pm you. You gotta tell me where your from in SK though. ;)
