sorry if someone already sai this, but because some of you have made DBZ-OP comparisons(sp.?),don´t you think that gear2 is similar to SonGoku´s kaioken(if SonGoku used it too much,he got injuries etc..)
Gear 2 is far more powerful than we thought.

How do you know i t was weather controlling fruit? I eprsonally think it is a wind controlling fruit
Actually, it's probably a rain fruit.
In Japanese Mythology, an Ouryu is a Dragon King that has power over rain. When disguised as a human, he takes the appearance of a man with a serpent's tail, or a man with a serpent's hood.

Uh, I beg to differ.
Luffy is an idiot in everything but combat. In terms of combat/physics, he is a genius. Notice that he actually pointed out how Soru worked and even Bleuno was impressed. He also understood that richochet would prevent Enel from predicting his blows and therefore would strike him.
In the case of the gears, it's understanding how his rubber body works and pushing it to his limits. Force pumping his blood to create an accelerated "adrenaline" effect is ingenious, to say the least. And Gear 3rd is nothing special, it's simply inflating his limbs individually rather than simply his lungs by inhaling air and then channeling that air into his fist or leg to strike, or in the case of balloon bone, his chest muscles. That takes the full understanding of his body and how it functions.
For instance, that would be like Buggy being able to split into atoms, or Mr. 3 being able to turn into wax when hit or struck, much like a logia can.
If many of the DF users that we've seen had the combat intelligence of Luffy, they could've probably beaten him. Can you imagine instead of just coiling his legs, when Luffy struck him, coiling his face into a spring to absorb Luffy's blow, then launching it back at him? It would be pretty much the same effect as an impact dial. Bellamy's devil fruit had so much potential… but he was too young and naive to explore the possibilities of it.
Luffy, of all people in the series, is incredible in his combat strategy. No one else comes close.
rib cage, not chest muscle.
your rib cages are above, and below there's nothing, just like luffy's top-big-bottom-small hone fuusen
