Heres my version of Zoro, its not incredibly, and might even fit other darker characters better, but its short, and Im not very good at "Acting" without a script, so I just said what came to my head.
And could we hear some of the already chosen VAs? I wanna hear Sanji the most :)
I'll try getting them to record some lines but first I need someone to do me alittle script.
Metal: Hm, I have yet to hear Foxy's voice in the original but even for someone like him I think your voice sounds too young.

I'll work on it! Maybe Ill use some lines from the manga, alot more Zoro moments there. Ill also try out for Usopp soon, which my "real life" voice works out with alot better.

I also tried Usopp…but I couldnt make it sound as whiney, and annoying as the original Usopp. I sounded too "noble" more Sogeking then Usopp.

Good for you! Yeah, it's easy. Only flaw is that Windows Movie Maker lags like hell and you have to wait at least 3 minutes for it to save one image that you've imported. (So don't save too often. It'll take forever if you do that) I mean, I have over 10 fandubs saved to my vids section and a bunch of other things I did with my voice. (Though more than half my dubs don't exist anymore. Why won't the site accept my Goemon dubs?)

Yeah, okay, so I was dead wrong and I'm willing to accept that now. But there was a lot of misleading evidence. The first was an ad in Shonen Jump issue 6 saying that movie 4 was going to be dubbed. Who knows? Maybe 4kids cancelled the idea when they licensed OP. Also, I saw a section on www.movietome.com titled "One Piece: The Movie" and the summary sounded exactly like Dead End Adventure, and movietome is an American site, so I dunno if they were right about that or not. Also, I sent the subbed movie to my Email buddy in New Jersey and she wrote back saying "This is way better than the MOVIE we got here". You already know where New Jersey is located, right? Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to convince you otherwise. I'm really not. I'm just saying that these are some good reasons to believe what I did. Who knows? Maybe some other company planned on dubbing it but 4kids beat them to the legal rights thus the movies might never come to America.

Hello, I am Wexes. As most of you probably know, I have started my own One Piece fandub only a few months ago. I had not known that one had been in production here. I have submitted mine to Buuhan's to make an even greater fandub. I've given him a few actors that I had, that he needed.

A lot has happened, Marc. We are now starting dubbing at the Davy Back Fight arc instead of at the very beginning. With that note all we need to complete the Mugiwara cast now is a Zoro & Usopp.

Okay, its been a month so I say its fair for me to double post and bump this.
I've still had no luck finding a Zoro and/or Usopp, anyone else? Really, everything should audition even if they feel they are as far from the character as you get, your voice has ways of surprising you once its recorded.
Just a few mins ago I started reading this topic (but of course not all the pages). When you start it Buuhan, are you going to start from the first episode? And are you thinking of putting it on a late time (like for example, the Adult Swim Channel), or is it going to be on a different channel? Also, if you are going to do it from the beginning, you should air a new episode every day (just like they did when Inuyasha started, or Yu-gi-oh GX, or Code Lyoko)

This is a fandub, which means it'll be done and distrupted over the internet. And we are starting with the Davy Back Fight.
^ yeah, that does sound more better (you mean your going to do the episodes in youtube, right)? I saw one episode of something you for sure know as Dub Piece (even though of course it is intended to be funny, its not the type I want to see)
No, it wont take place on YouTube. More than likely people will upload it there of course, but it'll be downloadable mainly just like any fansubs.

With a little bit of acting and a higher pitched voice, I could hear a goofy Ussop voice in there. More like the 4Kids Usopp though.

I'm thinking Daisuke sounds a bit like 4kids Sanji, only much much less annoying, but I agree, he'd make a great Sanji.
And as a side note Daiskue, a part really can't be singled out just by listening to your normal voice, since most of the time voice actors use different voices for different characters. One exception to this is Derek Stephen Prince, who uses the same voice for every one of his characters.

Have you thought of using a voice changer software? I used it to make a german matrix parody with a friend and it worked perfectly. I even did an old man and it sounded real XD
Yes, I thought of that, but that entirely gets rid of the point of voice acting now, don't it?
No, not at all. it took hours for me to find the "right" voice. With the software you change the "color" of your voice but you still have to sound excited, disappointed, mean etc. And of course you can still adjust your voice to your liking.

Yo Buuhan, I was wondering, what are you looking for in the rest of the needed characters? What I mean is, how do you want them to be done? For instance, do you prefer the 4kids Zoro, or the Japanese Zoro. What kind of personality do you want potrayed from Foxy? Things like that.
As long as it matches the characters. Of course I look to the Japanese version cause I hear Oda has a say in the voices and how the personality should be protrayed, and thats the closest we'll ever get.
But copying the Japanese version would be hard to do, so its better just to find matching voices & personalities for the characters.

Are you just cutting the sound when someone is speaking and replace it? Cause there would be something missing then.
I just ask that out of personal interest because it could be that I'm doing a parody again. Last time we had to use new sound effects for everything because it was also a task for school… But as a hobby, I don't want to do that again =_=

We'll be making the original audio silent, we will then mix in sfx where you can find from various sources, then for the music we'll do that thanks to the OST's.
Then the last thing is to put in the dubbed dialogue. Its a time consuming process.
