I ended up giving into temptation and peaked to see at least what the information was about. The actual info was of no surprise to me, and I was strong enough to not look at the pictures that came along with it, so there's that at least. I think with that last tidbit I have gotten everything I need to know about the game.
While offshore I typed up my summary of SC all the way through chapter 4, which I stopped afterwards. Hopefully I have some time to get through a little more of the game before going back out again. Once again, large summary for what amounts to about a third or so of the actual game. There's a lot of stuff to go through, so I may have put things out of order or made some minor mistakes such as names and spelling, but overall events should be accurate.
! Pre Prologue
! >! Estelle wakes up in Grancel castle after being sedated by Josh. She first thought it a dream until she finds Joshua’s harmonica in her hand. She hurries and talks to Cassius, who talks about Oroboros and how Josh was sent to kill him. Unlike how Josh says he was barely a threat, Cassius talks about how he was almost killed by Josh. Cassius seems fine with Josh leaving but Estelle hates him for keeping all this a secret. After storming out Schera tells Cassius how she thinks him and Josh are terrible men.
! Estelle takes an airship back to Rolent, convinced that Josh must have headed back there and would be waiting. Trying to hold it all in, a stranger approaches her, saying a beautiful girl like her shouldn’t be crying. After some back and forth, the stranger introduces himself as Kevin, a travelling priest, and offers his ears for Estelle, which after that she lets all her emotions out. Once they land in Rolent they both head to Estelle’s house, Estelle convinced Josh is there, but Kevin already knowing the truth. (Fun fact, when first introduced Kevin’s name title says inconsiderate jerk, then when he says he’s a priest the title says inconsiderate jerk?)
! You can walk around the town where people congratulate Estelle, and ask about Josh. A few of the more observant people ask Kevin to keep an eye on Estelle. Once at the house, Estelle goes to each room looking for Josh, losing more hope as she moves on. Once going into Josh’s room with no avail, she finally admits the truth, which Kevin acknowledges after trying to convince her that Josh could still be around.
! Estelle is ready to give up, but Kevin says that it’s too early to give up, and there must be a clue that only she would know. She remembers Josh’s story and becomes determined to find Josh and bring him back. Cassius comes in, and admits that he is also unhappy with the situation, and against his fatherly wishes asks Estelle to bring Josh back.
Prologue
! >! Estelle goes to a bracer training camp in Leman State, which both the main bracer branch is located, as well as the head of the church. She is training with Anelace in a program to help them develop skills necessary for bracers in various situations. Cassius had mentioned that Estelle should take it, as she would need to improve if she wished to take on the society of Oroboros. At first hesitant, she decides to take the program, knowing that she had been relying on Josh all the time, and it would be necessary for her to grow.
! Before starting the first program, you are handed a new battle orbment, which has potential for new skills. Kurt, the instructor, talks about how it will be better for the long run, and Estelle notes that they would be able to use artes that Lorence had used against them during the coup, showing that the society had this technology months before them at least. From there you do a little training session then head to bed for the next day.
! However, that night the place is attacked by Jeagers, and after a battle and being gassed, you find yourself in the middle of the forest. You find all your equipment and head back to the scene, and after finding the one person left and figuring out the situation, you head to a mock fort to take on the jeagers. You fight them and at the end you find out it was all a ploy by Kurt, Karna, and Grant as your final test.
! Three other scenes happen after, one which Capanella the Fool, one of the enforcers, makes his entrance to watch Weissman’s plan go through in the stead of the Grandmaster. We find out he was behind everything going on the Erebonia that caused Cassius to action in the first game, noting how despite never meeting Cassius was never far behind him. The other scene is Josh and the Capua’s, in a burned down place which Josh tells them was called Hamel (Lorence mentioned this name to the Queen in the first game). You find out Josh helped the Capua’s escape, and is having them help him in his quest to take on the society in the shadows. The other one is Julia Schwarz showing Kevin the remains of the guardian that you fought at the end of the first game. He makes a comment about the artifact from Dalmore, and about if they were following the church’s instructions on keeping it safe.
Chapter 1
! >! You get back to Grancel, and are greeted by Scherazard and Agate. They are to form two groups to look into the society, and it’s up to Estelle to decide who to partner up with. The one you don’t pick joins up much later, after the events of the third chapter, and all events are the same, just character interactions change. You then head to Ruan, but before that you see Mueller with the head of the Erebonia embassy, who is arguing with the head of the Calvard embassy. After splitting up you talk to Mueller, who talks about the fact that Queen Alicia has proposed a peace pact, and by agreeing both countries would get a prototype engine, that could have significant effects in transportation and other types vehicular use.
! To Ruan you take the Linde, which was the airship you rescued in the first game, which all the crew remembers you from. Once in Ruan you find out about how there had been various sightings of a ghost, a prospect Estelle is not a fan of. This is especially cause for concern, as the election is going on for the new mayor to replace Delmore. From there you go and interview three people who saw the ghost. First you run into the Ravens, who ask for a fight before telling you what you want. You talk to a soldier who others thought dreamed of it, and you also talk to Polly from the orphanage.
! When you get to the orphanage, you see the place is back, and looks just like the old one. You find out that the children are in Sunday school, and head over to the village to see them. Lo and behold that the priest teaching them is Kevin, who also memorized all 20 something chapters of a book and told the story to the kids. After that you talk to Polly and find that all three witnesses saw the exact same thing. After going back to Ruan with Kevin, you figure out that the Ghost has been heading back to the same area, the Royal Academy, so you head there to investigate further.
! However, before heading to academy there is an emergency, as people from both parties in the election are staring each other down on the bridge, which could get violent at any moment. Both sides are accusing each other of having the ghost being a ruse, and one side uses the other candidates son to get under their skin. Right before it gets ugly, Olivier shows up in a boat, and after a little serenade everyone calms down and heads their own way. Afterwards Olivier and Dorothy join you to head to the campus.
! Soon after arriving you get greeted by Sieg, with Kloe right behind after him. It’s a tearful reunion, as Kloe apologizes for not being there to help through any of her turmoil, lamenting her lack of power to help. Once both have calmed down, it is decided to split into groups to talk to students if they saw anything. After it’s decided the ghost is coming from the old schoolhouse, the ghost appears outside the window of the student counsel room, which causes Estelle to Collapse from shock. Once conscious again she is adamant about taking down whoever is behind this, and the group heads over.
! The perpetrator sets some riddles for them, which leads them to the basement of the old school house (This makes me think a little bit about the school house from Cold Steel). After navigating the maze, and leaving Dorothy behind, you come to the perpetrator, Bleublanc the Phantom Thief, an enforcer of Oroboros. After a fight against a mechanical centaur, he traps you by sewing your shadows. He proclaims his heart to Kloe, loving the determination of hers, which Olivier chuckles at Blublanc’s narrow view of beauty. Before he can do anything to them, Dorothy comes and takes a picture, causing the shadows to reset and no longer being affected. Bleublanc leaves, claiming Olivier his rival in beauty, and that they all shall meet again. Chapter 2
! >! There is a scene with Loewe and Blublanc, which they sense someone watching them, but with the ravens coming over drunk they leave it be. You find out that Kevin was spying on them and seems to be keeping an eye out for Oroboros as well. With things having calmed down Estelle and the group head for Zeiss, which can use their help. When landing in Zeiss an earthquake hits suddenly, which is unusual since the region almost never has earthquakes. Checking in at the guild you find out a number of earthquakes have occurred, and even more unusual is the fact that no outlying areas from where the epicenter was felt anything.
! The first order of business is to head to one of the places that was hit by the earthquake before. After talking to the soldiers you find out that no damage was done and was little more than a short tremor. However, after talking to everyone you hear about an earthquake at Wolf Fort, and head over to assess the situation. While no major damage was done, it caused quite a mess. You hear from the maid about a strange man in sunglasses being around earlier, which was a person seen by a soldier at the other fort, and by an engineer at the Central Factory.
! Once back at the guild you figure out that the strength and duration of the quakes are steadily increasing, and that eventually it could cause damage and casualties. Tita then joins you to set up some contraptions at different locations to get a reading on the quakes, in hopes of figuring out where it may be coming from. At one location you are attacked by monsters. When in the Kaldia Tunnel you come across Anelace and the partner you didn’t choose, where you learn they are chasing down some remnants of the intelligence division. If you chose Schera as your partner Tita will assume Anelace is Agate’s girlfriend. At Leiston Fortress you see Cassius, and learn a little more about what he has been up to, and also see Cid as well.
! Once you get back to the factory, an earthquake hits Leiston Fortress, which Cassius guessed was the next target and prepared things to minimize damage and injury. After reading everything you learn that everything seems to be converging from the Elmo Hotsprings, and when arriving the water is boiling out of control. Miss Mao gives you a key to head into the nearby caves where the water originates from, and the group heads in to inestigate.
! At the end of the tunnels you run into another enforcer, Walter the Dire Wolf. Using the gospel and a special kind of drill he is capable of changing the flow of septium veins under the earth, which he can cause earthquakes where he pleases. After being chastised by Estelle he claims that all he is doing is giving people some excitement, and that the idea of death is exciting. You end up fighting worms that grew from the effects of Walter’s activities.
! After the fight, Walter comments on how weak everyone is, and with a single punch knocks everyone down where they can barely move. He talks about how Loewe was lying about their power, and how Josh would make for a better opponent, which Estelle tells him to stay away from him. Walter is ready to finish off Estelle when Zin comes in to the rescue, and you find out he knows Walter. Seeing Zin, Walter is more pleased and looks forward to facing off with him in the future, and taking the Gospel leaves
! At the guild you find out Zin, Kilika, and Walter were all part of the same group of students, and after a scuffle with his master left the dojo to pursue his own path. Kilika cuts the conversation short and tells the group that Grancel is in need of their assistance, and the group heads on out. In another scene Walter remarks about the experiments, talking how he couldn’t get the quakes strong enough to break buildings, but find out that the results were still a success. Chapter 3
! >! On the airship you get a little more information about Walter, where he ended up killing the Dojo master, where the master hoped to put a stop to Walter’s path for the fist of destruction. You land in Grancel and find out that the army has a personal task for you, but there is some time before the person arrives. A call from the Royal Villa comes in, and you are asked to look into a missing child. At the Villa you find out a little girl was left behind by her parents, and the bartender lost her during a game of hide and seek. The bartender asks you to look for her.
! In one of the rooms is where Duke Dunan has been sequestered, after his behavior during the coup in the first game. If Kloe is in your party he will chastise her, claiming that her meekness and lack of presence in the public circle is hurting her as a successor. The Duke apologizes for his behavior towards Queen Alicia, but doesn’t believe Kloe to be worthy. Kloe admits her faults, and asks him to judge her when the time comes, and after Estelle tells the Duke at least Kloe is doing her best while he wallows away, they leave with Dunan fuming. If you have Olivier in the party he will disagree with the fame aspect, talking about Prince Dreichles and how he rose from obscurity during a civil war.
! You eventually find the little girl, where she was hiding under the bar table, and it ends up being Renne. She says how she believes her parents will return, but the group decided keeping her with the guild for the time is the best bet for now. When you return to the guild, Cid is waiting for you to give you the task from the army. Tita takes Renne up stairs while the rest talk about the task. A card has been sent to various places involved with the upcoming peace talks, saying that there will be consequences if it happens. The army being tied up with security, the guild is in charge with investigating the case.
! Estelle is followed by Kloe, Zin, and Olivier as they head to their respective areas to investigate. Zin introduces you to the head of the Calvard Embassy, which the head claims she doesn’t believe anyone in Erebonia would be foolish enough to oppose such a thing, and despite political division in Calvard, the president wants the peace treaty so everyone will follow his will. Mueller introduces you to the head of the Erebonia embassy, who claims that Calvard has to be responsible, and that Erebonia is united on this. Kloe asks how Iron Blood Chancellor Osborne views the treaty, and after Mueller convinces him to talk, the head says that it was Osborne who suggested it even before the treaty was incepted.
! With Kloe you head to the castle and talk to the Queen and Hilda. Hilda remembers Renne’s parents, claiming that they seemed out of it during the tour. Queen Alicia doesn’t believe anyone is serious with the threat, and that none of the parties in the treaty are responsible. Kloe had the same thought as well, which Alicia got out of her before making her opinion. Talking about Renne and her being from Crossbell, you learn about how it’s a small country between Erebonia and Calvard, and the fight over the territory has given the name of anything involving the country the “Crossbell Problem”. After talking with the Queen, Kloe talks about how she doesn’t know how she can live up to her Grandmother. Olivier tells Kloe that she is comparing someone who has been on the throne for years since the age of 20 to someone that is 16. Zin talks about how in martial arts there’s a thousand step journey to become a master, and Kloe should take her time, in which he knows she will get there eventually.
! You then stop at Liberl News to talk to Nial, who doesn’t have a whole lot of new information, who only talks because he feels bad that Kloe is asking him. You get to the guild and after talking over everything you split up for the night, and end up sharing a room with Renne, who gets Estelle to talk about Josh a bit. You then get two scenes, one which Agate and Anelace come across the intelligent division people, who have blueprints and something about a tea party. They meet Companella, and after destroying the men you find out they were automotons. The other scene is Josh with the Capua family destroying some other Automotons disguised as Intelligent Division.
! After you report to Cid the next morning, you return to the guild to figure out your next step. During your conversation Renne sneaks out, and sends you on a goose chase to find her, by leaving riddles behind. You eventually go to the landing port, where Olivier see’s Mueller off. Estelle asks if he saw Renne, which she is right behind them. Back at the guild, Renne gives Estelle a card, saying that someone that looked like Josh gave it to her. After being told to go, she rushed off to the meeting spot, but instead of Josh, Kevin is there, and it was a trap.
! They return to the guild, despite Estelle demanding that Kevin reveal who he is. At the guild you find everyone knocked out, and Agate comes in talking about the Tea Party. Philip, Dunan’s Butler, comes asking about the Duke’s whereabouts. A scene earlier showed that Captain Almathea kidnapped him. With the help of Sieg you get taken to the docks, where Almathea and the remnants of the Intelligence Division are. Almathea has a special tank, using the prototype engine and with the Gospel can stop all orbments around her, but have the tank still work. Kevin, using the rod that Dalmore had, uses it to temporarily stop the Gospel.
! After destroying the tank and beating Amlathea, you find out that she was tricked, and that the mastermind behind all of this was the Angle of Slaughter, Renne. Estelle demands to know what all of this is about, asking about her parents. Renne shows that they were dolls that she controlled, and calls out her “real” mamma and papa, Pater Mater, a giant robot. She talks about how she was going to kill Estelle after everything, but she got attached to her and spared her. After flying away on Pater Mater things settle down. Estelle claims she will get Renne out of the Society, even if it means kicking and screaming. We also see Cid and Cassius talking to Almathea, and at first defiant she calms down after Richard enters the room, apologizing for all he made her do, and officially disbanding the intelligence division.
! Renne returns to the secret base, where she remarks how Pater Mater made short work of the ships chasing them. Loewe comes out to congratulate her on a job well done, and Weissman makes a proposition about Estelle joining them. This makes Renne ecstatic while Loewe cautions Weissman that those who join the society must do so of their own free will, which Weissman chastises Loewe for that comment. Estelle and the party are boarding a ship to Rolent to then head to Bose when Nial and Dorothy come to show her a picture, which shows Josh with the Josette on the Capua family orbal ship. Chapter 4
! >! The chapter starts with Josh infiltrating the hideout to take back the Capua’s ship. After disarming the soldiers and getting the key, Josh and Josette find themselves facing against Mueller, who is a force to be reckoned with. Before a decisive blow can be made, Josh and Josette jump on the ship and make their way out. On the ship to Rolent, Estelle is unsure what to think of the picture, which Scherazard tells her to take it one step at a time. You get a scene where Olivier is talking to Mueller via an artifact, and talks about how they need to prepare incase “he” acts. As you land into Rolent a thick fog envelops around the ship, which with the help of search lights you safely land.
! According to Aina, the fog appeared earlier in the day, and only seemed to get worse. You go and investigate the fog, finding out that it suddenly clears up at clearly defined boarders. Once back at the village after the investigation, you hear a bell and go report to the guild. While discussing everything, Mayor Klaus comes in and you find out multiple people in the village passed out suddenly. Talking to everyone, you find out that there were no witnesses, and a few people noticed a Lady in a strange, black dress. The guys end up staying up to patrol while the ladies go to Estelle’s place to sleep for the night. You talk to Scherazard, where Estelle finally shows the picture that has been bothering her. Scherazard also seems distracted, where her tarot card seems to indicate uncertainty in the enemy.
! The next morning you notice the fog is thicker, and has spread even further. You take a group to Perzel farm, where after fighting some monsters and hearing the bell you find the entire family unconscious. Estelle laments her lack of power, and feels that perhaps she is not good enough to go through with her task. Scherazard hits her, saying that nobody can do everything, and that a strong person moves forward in those times. Back to her senses Estelle is ready to move forward, and while debating what to do with the family, Kevin arrives to watch over them. At the guild you learn that a bell came from Mistwald, and you head there to find the source.
! After traversing a maze, you come across a tree with the Gospel, and fight two mist monsters. After that everyone is put into a dream state, where Estelle dreams of her time when her Mother was still alive. She eventually comes across Josh’s harmonica in her dream, and after playing the Whereabouts of Light she comes back to. After snapping the others out, you meet Luciola, the Bewitching Bell, who used to be part of Scharazards troupe. Schera tells her that she will not tolerate even a past family member to threaten that which she cares about, which Luciola claims she looks forward to meeting again, which she will tell Schera everything that happened with her leaving.
! At the guild everyone in the village has recovered, and Estelle decides to show everyone the photo of Josh, determined more than ever. Aina understands the situation, and claims that they can’t be 100% certain that Josh is the person since his mouth is covered. We then see Luciola picked up by Walter and Companella, where Companella says he will not be accompanying Loewe and the Professor on their job, because he need to get permission to use the ark. There is also a short scene with Cassius and Professor Russell, where you learn that the gospels are absorbing energy, and sending the energy to an unknown place. Said place must be giving the Gospels their powers, since they are too small to do such things on their own.
! Chapter 5
! >! You start with a scene with Loewe and Weissman, both preparing to start the final experiment. After a small conversation about how even with the two of them it will be difficult to pull this off. A voice asks who's there, and you see the outline of a Dragon. Weissman tells Loewe to show the Gospel, and the Dragon is surprised at it. Weissman claims it's smaller than the originals, but does what it needs to do, and the Dragon asks what they intend to use it for, having a good idea what is going on. The scene cuts there, and the group travels to Bose. On the airline, you can talk to the team mates who were with you for the fight in the forest, and will give an idea about their dreams. Once in Bose, you find out that there have been strong monsters appearing, and been unusual as well. Tita and some of the others ask Agate if he would like to visit Ravannue village, but quickly shoots it down, saying they will go once everything calms down. There's a small scene with Maybelle, where Agate shows some ire towards her, especially after she was about to say something about his past.
! After subduing the three monsters, you find them to be acting afraid, not always attacking and doing other strange things. Agate is reminded of this happening before, but doesn't go any further until you are back at the guild, where he talks about how it happened with the monsters right before the Hundred Day War. While trying to figure things out, a loud noise it heard outside, and the dragon from before is on a rampage, and destroyed the roof of the Bose market. Loewe confronts the group, telling them that this situation is beyond them, and should retreat. He gets control of the dragon, and heads out on it, and Agate pursues them while the rest assess the damage. There were a few injuries, and Lila (Maybelle's maid), pushed Maybelle from the collapse, and is unconscious under the rubble. Once you rescue and evacuate people, you find out Ravannue village was attacked, and head there.
! No one was hurt, but the orchards, their main source of revenue, has been completely destroyed. You find out Agate headed towards the mines in a rush, and head there. Agate confronts Loewe, and begins fighting with him, which Loewe remarks about how outclassed Agate it. He asks Agate why he fights, and tells Agate that he fights to fill a void from loss, while Loewe walks with purpose, on the path of ruin. You rush to the fighting spot, and Loewe badly injures Agate, destroying his blade in the process. Tita rushes to his aid, while the dragon keeps the others away. Loewe tells Tita to move aside, as he does not like hurting women and children, but will do it. To both Agate's and Loewe's surprise, Tita refuses, saying despite Agate being a blockhead and other things, deep down he's a good guy and that she loves him, and will not move. Loewe applauds her bravery, and spares her. When preparing to leave the army comes in, with General Morgan leading the charge. This is the area you found the Linde at in the first game, so the fact that Morgan with the army comes to support you this time around is a nice contrast. The dragon isn't fazed, and they get away. Morgan tells the group to leave this to the army, and Agate gets angry at Morgan, angrily proclaiming that they are always too slow, and that's why something happened. Agate collapses before finishing, and Morgan helps you take him back to the village.
! The mayor talks about how Mischa died when a shrapnel hit the house she lived in, which caused everything, including the foundation to burn. After Mischa's death, Agate lost his sense of purpose, and wandered around and eventually joined the Ravens. Morgan recalls a boy like him back in the day, after the village had been attacked. He blamed himself for what happened, since the defensive line seemed to cause the confrontation, and didn't help protect those people. Morgan is ready to stop the dragon, and at first tells the bracers to stand down. Estelle and the others convince Morgan to let them help, which he considers. After telling Tita what is going on, you head back to Bose, and Estelle tells Tita to not let Agate out of bed until fully recovered. Agate has a little dream about how Mischa was going to make him an accessory for his birthday. He wakes up and talks to Tita, where at first he wants to get up and leave, but Tita convinces him to stay down.
! You find out from Agate that he and Mischa had been evacuating, but she went back to grab the present and that's when the house was hit. Agate took the present as a memento of her, and talks about how there was a void in him. He found the ability to fill that void by fighting, exactly as Loewe had said. He calls himself pathetic, worthless, and a slew of other insults. He is convinced that there is nothing good about him, when Tita tells Agate that she needs to speak for his sister. She says that no one should make fun of her brother, even Agate himself. Sure, he has a rough edge, but deep down he is a kind and gentle person. Both Tita and Agate get their feelings out in the air, and Agate convinces Tita he is fine now. The next morning Estelle and the gang board the Arseille, where Agate and Tita miss the departure, but get a package from professor Russell. Morgan has a platoon of ships to surround the Dragon and sedate it, which seems to work. Dorothy notices a bump on the dragon, which you find out is the Gospel, and wakes the Dragon up. The Arseille chases after it at full speed, but the Dragon disappears into the misty forest. After talking with Morgan, Agate comes in with a contraption that can help break Gospels, and has an idea of destroying the thing to bring the Dragon back to its senses. Morgan reluctantly agrees, and has ships on standby to shoot to kill if the mission fails.
! With Tita and Agate, you find the Dragon hiding, and after a battle Agate gives the final blow to destroy the Gospel. The dragon comes to, and apologizes for what it did, and gives them valuable Septium ore, in order to help pay for the damages. The Dragon's name is Ragnard, and has been around since before the Great Collapse, over 12,000 years ago. He recognizes the scent of Estelle, as he met Cassius once before, who tried to beat Ragnard to no avail. Ragnard clarifies that it was someone named the Professor that put the Gospel in him, and that it was Loewe that calmed him, and that if he didn't the town and village would've been complete ash. He gives some cryptic warning about the Aureole, how it's all around them but not there, holds all the wisdom and power, but brings nothing but ruin, and that when the time comes they need to have an answer. He is bound to an ancient oath, and can say no more, and with that leaves, apologizing to Morgan and Julia before leaving up higher into the sky.
! At the end, we get a scene at the grave with Mischa's name and the others who died during the war. Agate realizes that Morgan was the other person who had been putting down the flowers as well every year, but Morgan feigns ignorance. He tells Agate about how he has taken to heart about the Army's weaknesses, and has come to accept the needs of the Bracers. They may but heads, but they will ultimately come together to help each other out in the end. The conversation ends when Loewe comes in with flowers as well, and lays them by the grave stone. Morgan asks Loewe why he is doing these things, and just states that he does as the Society bids. Morgan want to push further, but Loewe says not to compare to him, as Morgan is forced to stay silent about Hamel. Before leaving, he comments about the void in Agate being gone, but warns him to get stronger by the next confrontation, or more than his sword will be lost.
! Chapter 6
! >! After running around the entire country and dealing with Ouroboros, Mayor Maybelle gives you an all expense paid trip to the Inn by Valleria Lakeshore. Kevin ends up joining you, where you exchange some information, which Kevin tells you that he has figured out that the tops of the towers must be locks that were mentioned at the end of the first game, when Richard used the Gospel underground. Before trying to figure what it all means, you decide for now not to worry about it, and take time to relax for the few days you have. During one sunset, Estelle goes to the dock, where she plays the Whereabouts of light on the dock, remembering the time there with Josh in the first game. Kevin applauds her and while Estelle claims to not be great at it, Kevin says Music is more about the heart. He asks Estelle what her plan is when she finally meets up with Josh, and she says she has no idea what, but she feels that when they finally meet, she will know what to say. Kevin is a bit disappointed, as he planned on that moment being a way to get Estelle to like him more, but before he can go on to explain, Kurt comes up on a boat, unconscious. Kevin uses a special technique from the church to undo a temporary block on his memory, and you find out that Kurt and the other Bracers found the hideout, but were confronted by Enforcers and got taken out. With that a select group with Estelle and Kevin go to the Base.
! At the base you fight replicas of Archaisms, and find another guardian like the one you fought below Gracel. You also end up fighting the other Bracers who are under control, and Kevin breaks each one out from their spell. Anelace claims to have seen Josh, and at the top Floor they find what looks like Josh, but in his FC outfit, collapsed on the floor. It ends up being a puppet, and you fight three of them. After that Weissman uses sleep gas on all of them, taking Estelle along. Estelle has a little dream with Josh telling her to stop chasing him, as his body parts fall off and looks like the puppets she just fought. After that she wakes up, with Renne by her bedside, and after a moment passes is surprised by Renne's presence. A voice comes over the intercom, asking Estelle to come see him. Renne escorts Estelle to the top floor, where she finally see's Weissman. Despite the memory block, she surmised it was Alba after hearing his voice for the first time since the celebration, which Weissman is impressed by. He tells Estelle that he is actually an archeologist, and we find out he used to be part of the church, but learning about the world and the relics, and being found by the grandmaster, he became part of Ouroboros. He also tells Estelle what he told Josh on the day of the Celebration, and that angers Estelle, but when trying to attack Weissman, Loewe comes out and blocks it. All of the Enforcers we have seen appear, and after Renne chastising them for scaring Estelle, Weissman offers Estelle a spot in their society, though she would not be an enforcer at first. While she thinks it over, Estelle is forced to stay in her guest room.
! Estelle is thinking about it, knowing what her choice should be, when Loewe comes in. Loewe is of the opinion that Estelle does not belong in the society, as the darkness in her heart is too little, unlike the rest of the people in the society. Estelle asks Loewe about Hamel, and insists even after Loewe tells her perhaps she is better off not knowing. We learn that Hamel was a small town near the border of Liberl, one that the people lived a simple life. Loewe trained, wanting to become a bracer, while Josh and his sister, Karin, watched and hung out together each day. One day a group of soldiers in Liberl uniforms came and attacked the village, killing people and doing other vile acts to the women. Loewe tried to lure soldiers away so Josh and Karin could get away, but soldiers were prepared for that. When Loewe found them, Karin was on her last breaths, and gave her Harmonica, the one Estelle now has, to Josh. Josh was around 4 or so years old, and all that caused him to do nothing but play the harmonica, and that's when Weissman came to them. While Josh was being "fixed", he trained to be an agent for the Society. After hearing the story, Estelle is convinced to stay her path, ready to bring Josh back even more. Loewe warns her to not try escaping, but Estelle finds a way to trick the guards and starts her escape.
! On the deck, a number of agents come to fight her, one being Gilbert, Mayor Dalmore's assistant from the first game. You fight them and when things look bad, a random soldier comes to Estelle's aid, which is quickly shown to be Josh. Loewe comes to kill Josh, but Josh had rigged the engines to explode, and causes Loewe to leave them be. Josh takes Estelle to a ship prepared to escape, and after a confrontation against some archaisms that Campanella summoned, you make your escape. Some ships come after you and you lack firepower, but the Capua family comes to your aid, and you escape and land by the ocean shore. Josh tells Estelle that this will be there last time seeing each other, stating his betrayal and that if she comes along, she will certainly die. Estelle tells Josh that he is lying to himself, and that the truth deep down is that he is scared, scared of losing what he cares about, scared about feeling what he felt on the day of the incident in Hamel. He talked about how he shot the soldier that was assaulting his sister, at the time not understanding what was going on. He felt like it was someone else's memories, but in truth he was scared to remember those feelings of that day. Josh finally realizes that, and he finally cries out for the first time since that day. After that, Josh still doesn't feel right about everything that he did since leaving Estelle, and she tells Josh to just explain everything to the queen. Estelle asks Josh to give her a kiss, as he needs to make up for what he did that night, but before that happens that Capua family comes. They ask Josh what he wants, though they figure out that his choice was to be with Estelle. They leave and with that the chapter ends.
! Chapter 7
! >! Alicia forgives Joshua of his crimes, and admits that her pardon isn't enough, given that she stayed silent on Hamel. She had made the choice because while they were fending off Erebonia, only a fraction of their military was there at the time. By staying silent the Empire would back out and sentence those involved, and agree to not attack again. Queen Alicia thought it best, but regrets that those who had died would not have their justice. Josh does not begrudge her for that, and in fact states that it was the best option, as it would've caused even more deaths. After that the others join, all to give Josh a warm welcome home. Cassius comes in, and after blaming himself for what happened he claims he needs to do his fatherly duty, and slaps Josh across the face. The happy reunion is short lived, as the top of the towers have been engulfed in a strange black orb, and various mechanical automatons and beasts are attacking across the country. Kloe asks for permission to use the Arseille, and the group heads to each tower to find out what is going on. As you head out, Olivier leaves as he claims he has to leave back to Erebonia, which he was due back a while ago. After they leave, he talks to Mueller, in which Mueller questions what Olivier has planned. We get one last shot of Olivier, as he wishes his Liberlian friends luck, and that the next time they should meet, it shall be as enemies.
! When entering the towers, the group is transported to a strange area, which Kevin surmises is the true form of the towers. At the top of the four towers, you find Enforcer's on top. The first one is Bleublanc, and when asked why working for Weissman he claims he wants to see the beauty of the coming destruction and chaos. On the second tower is Walter, where after the fight he and Zin begin to start a fight. Things are evenly matched, and they are about to attack each other with all they got when Kilika interrupts. You find out her and Walter were in a relationship, and she tells Walter that he can go back to the drain he crawled out from. Zin starts to demand what's going on, and both claim that what is going on has nothing to do with him. The conversation ends when the tower returns to normal, and Walter says he will finish his stuff with Zin later. On the third tower, Luciola is waiting, and you learn about how the troupe was disbanded. Luciola learned that Harvey, the leader, was going to leave, and she decided to kill him. It was assumed a suicide because she used her illusions to make the scream come after the fact. She also talks about how she felt nothing when it happened. Once again the conversation gets cut short, and Luciola will tell her everything else later. The final tower has Renne, and when confronting her Estelle tells Renne that being in the Society is wrong, which causes Renne to go berserk, and she tells Estelle that she will kill her. After a bout, Renne tells Estelle a story, one where her "fake" papa and mama gave her to some strangers, and claimed they would come back for her. The strangers made her do terrible things day in and day out. There were other children that passed away, but she lived on. Josh and Loewe rescued her, as the Society deemed taking down her captures as a beneficiary move. With that she calls down Pater Mater, and you fight it. After the battle, Renne is about to unleash its full power when the Gospel finishes its job, and she leaves.
! Back on the ship, Estelle thinks she was wrong with what she said to Renne, and thinks she made it worse, but Josh think differently. Renne is a genius, always calm and collected, and can adapt to any situation. The fact that Renne reacted like that meant Estelle has touched something inside Renne, and thinks only Estelle can save her. The group decided it would be best to head back when Professor Russell comes in, cursing about a revelation he just made. The towers were the arms of the Aureole, which was keeping is sealed in another dimension. Weissman hijacks the communication of the Arseille and congratulates Russell for figuring that out, and tells them to go to the front deck to witness a show. There, they see the Aureole appear over Valleria lake, and Russell tells Julia to land the ship quickly, as the Shining Ring causes an orbal blackout across the entire country.
! Chapter 8
! >! Professor Russell made some special machines that can stop the effects of the blackout, though it can only effect small machines. He was able to make enough in which to get all the phones between the guilds and various military installations to work, something vital in a large scale emergency like this. Riots have calmed down across the nation, though the unrest is still high. You drop off these Zero Field Gravity Generators that Russell made to the guild in Rolent, Bose, Zeiss, and Ruan. Once done you head to Gracel, and the Queen wants a word with the guild. When you get to the capital, Ouroboros begins an attack, with a number of the Enforcers heading towards the castle. The royal guard is powerless, and on Philip, Duke Dunan's Butler and former Captain of the Royal Guard, was able to slow them down for the Queen and Princess Klaudia, which Duke Dunan convinced them to retreat deeper into the castle. After some battles you find the enforcers have Queen Alicia and Princess Klaudia captive, and Josh tells Estelle to wait for an opening. The Enforcers laugh at that, since Josh doesn't have the advantage of surprise, when Josh remarks he doesn't need to surprise them. Cid comes in and attacks one side, and while they are distracted, Richard attacks the other side and allows room for the Queen and Princess to escape. You find out that Almathea is leading ex intelligence division members to sweep out the city, and with that gets the Enforcers to retreat, but before they do warn them of their next trial.
! You find out Cassius had a feeling an attack on the capital would happen, and planned it ahead of time for Richard and the other members to be transferred to the capital when everything was going on. You find out the reason that you were called there was that Kloe as of that morning is officially the successor of the throne, which she decided to take as it will be her way to protect those that she loves. Estelle has a heart to heart with Kloe, where they agree to be there for each other, and from seeing that Richard realizes how foolish he was, not trusting in the future generation. Cid and Queen Alicia say he still has a future as well, which Richard tells them to stop jesting. Just when things have finally seemed to settle down, news comes in that a division of the Imperial Army is at Haken Gate, with steam powered tanks, which were believed to have been completely scrapped after the invention of orbal powered tanks. Kloe takes up her duties and decided to be the one to negotiate at the gate, which the rest go to support her morally, and be there to protect her if things get violent.
! At the Gate, Morgan is asking what the General of the Erebonia side, General Vander, aka One Eyed Zechs, is doing, which Zechs wants to know the same. A chunk of Erebonia has also been hit, and he is demanding answers, and when asked about the steam powered tanks states it as classified. At Morgans disdain, Kloe begins the negotiation, which once Zechs finds out it is Princess Klaudia he is speaking to he apologizes. Kloe states that Liberl is in turmoil, and that despite Erebonia coming to assist with the problem it could be misconstrued by the citizens, causing more panic and straining distrust even more. Zechs is at a loss for what to say, and everything seems to be going well when a voice claims that while those words are nice, they don't give the whole story. The voice comes from one Prince Olivert, or as we came to know and love him, Oilivier! We find out that during the Coup, Olivert was the one to be engaged to Klaudia. He comes in claiming that rumors are going about that the structure that appeared above the lake is a new weapon, one to seek revenge on the empire. Olivert chastises Kloe, on how they ask for a peace accord, only for this to happen. Estelle has enough and comes in as a mediator. If you get her to A rank, Olivert/Olivier will remark how he expected nothing less from Estelle. With a bracer backing the fact that all this is someone else's doing, Olivert admits that may be true, but if they have no plan or ability to take it down, Erebonia will force its "help". Kloe asks Olivert if they will grant a reprieve if they can prove that Liberl can do something about the problem. Olivert gives the okay, which Zechs is not too pleased about. At that moment, you hear Cassius, and he comes down on the Arseille, which is somehow working. Zechs and Cassius seem to have a history, and Olivert volunteers to come along, as he claims that if the prince goes along it will go a long way to appease the citizens.
! Zechs talks to Olivert and Muller (who we know is related to Zechs in some way, though not sure if son or Nephew). We learn that Olivert was taught under Zechs at one point, and is using his teaching now for his own purposes, to bring pride back to the Empire. Seeing Liberl, he has seen the beauty of a country with pride and wishes to bring that back. He claims that what just happened is a sort of declaration of war, one against Blood and Iron Chancellor Osborne. Olivert knows it will be an uphill battle, as Osborne has 7/10ths of the military under his influence, and the noble faction is losing power by day. However, with the Empire having steam tanks and the army conveniently ready at the time it did, Olivert knows that Osborne is in cahoots with Ouroboros in some way. Olivert knows that Zechs is one of the few neutrals in the military, and knows that he had nothing to do with Hamel. Zechs understands and applauds Olivert in his efforts, and asks Mueller to protect Olivert. Estelle and the others talk to Olivier, and find out that the reason Olivier came and wanted to talk to Cassius was because of Olivier's suspicions. With all that they head onto the Arseille to go to the ark.
! Final Chapter
! >! After fighting off some airships and escaping the Glorious, Loewe causes the Arseille to crash on the ark, farthest away from the Axis tower. You take a group to infiltrate the place and find a way to the Axis tower. You come across Josette and find out that the rest of the crew was captured, and you go and rescue them, captured on the Glorious. Once that is done you find your way to the Axis Tower, and head upwards. You fight each of the Enforcers in order to proceed. The first fight is against Bleu Blanc, and after a fight and breaking part of his mask, he admits that your resolve is strong and leaves. The second fight is against Walter, and afterwards you get a revelation from Zin. The master of the Dojo had a terminal illness, and was not longed for the world. He always thought that Zin was the better fighter, but always submitted to Walter in mind in heart as the better. Walter wanted to best Zin, but because Zin's mindset the fight would not be a fight of true strength, so the Master fought in Zin's stead. Walter is not pleased with the revelation, thinking the fight was pointless in the end, but Zin points out the path of a martial artist is inherently selfish, and Zin asks Walter to exchange one final blow, their strongest blow. Zin comes out on top, but claiming to have only won because Walter did not walk the true path of the Taito Style.
! The third fight is against Luciola, and we learn the last bits of her story. It wasn't just about the fact that Harvey was leaving the troup, it was more than that. Luciola admitted she loved Harvey, but Harvey viewed Luciola as a daughter, just like Scherazard. Luciola could not bare the thought of not having Harvey, and being a stranger. At that moment, she gave into the darkness in her, and killed Harvey, so in a way he would be hers to have. Luciola falls off the arc, but Scherazard saves her with the whip. Schera talks about how Harvery and Luciola were her world, and that them leaving left a void. Luciola admits that killing Harvey did not hurt her, but leaving Schera was hard, and would always think about her, which is why she came back. She is satisfied with Schera's growth, and after giving a little advice about drinking, cuts the whip and falls to the lake far below the clouds.
! The fourth fight is against Renne and Pater Mater. Renne gives a chance for Estelle to apologize, and that she will leave if she does that. Estelle tells Renne that she should not force people to do things, and that she is acting like a spoiled brat. She won't force Renne to leave, but Estelle wants Renne to know that she has other options outside of the Society. With that the fight against Pater Mater and Renne happens, which at the end you find out Pater Maters legs can't support it very well. With Pater Mater down, Renne tells Estelle to activate the terminal and move on, but Estelle wants to talk to Renne first. Renne is flustered, and Estelle hits her across the face, telling her that she needs to understand that pain her victims felt. Renne claims that Estelle is like the bad people, but Estelle then hugs Renne, and tells her that Renne can hate Estelle all she wants, but know that she is there for her no matter what, that she cares for her. Renne gets confused, unsure of what to think, and activated Pater Maters upper body. She flies away on Pater Mater, to go think, but tells them that Loewe is waiting above, and that she won't forgive them if they lose.
! At the room, you confront Loewe, which Josh shows his resolve to take on his weakness by fighting against Loewe and Weissman. Loewe says his job is done, and despite Estelle being against it, they have to show their resolve against one of the strongest people in Ouroboros. After the fight, Josh takes on Loewe by himself, to show his resolve to Loewe. We find out that Loewe joined the group and follows the plan because he does not trust humanity. The day Karin died, his trust in humanity was gone, and wished to test it by helping with the plan. Josh says that Loewe is wrong, and that as Karin's brother, the one she saves and shone brightly even in death, would show the hope left in humanity. Josh takes the opening with Loewe surprised by Josh's words, and Josh unarms Loewe. Josh fought not to harm Loewe, and find a different way, which is what Cassius taught him and Estelle. Loewe is impressed, and decides that he has no reason to be part of the society anymore. Josh is overjoyed, and hugs Loewe, exclaiming that he is back to his old self. Things seem up when Weissman comes in and attacks Loewe. He takes control of Josh again, claiming that this would not have happened if Estelle had not trudged along. He invites them to the center of the arc, and the group is attacked by society made guardians. After fighting one on the elevator, you make your way to the center, where Weissman and Josh await you.
! Weissman claims that humanity is doomed on two paths, either that of war or that of decay. He claims that there is one way to avoid it, and that is to make people have the smarts and ability to overcome all obstacles that come their way, basically strip away what makes a person human. Estelle claims that Weissman doesn't understand that people can get past ordeals on their own, even if mistakes are made overtime. She talks about because of her mother that died to save her, she became the person she is today, and not just because of that but all of the people she met. Weissman laughs at the idea of human bonds, and puts it to the test by having Joshua attack Estelle, Josh makes quick work of Estelle, and afterwards commands Josh to kill Estelle. Estelle apologizes to Josh, telling him to not lose hope from her death, when Josh suddenly talks, saying he didn't know what he would do if Estelle dies, let alone by him. You find out Kevin put in something in Josh's mind, which would break Weissman's influence if a certain command was given. Josh betted it all on Weissman commanding Josh to Kill Estelle, and it all worked out. Weissman get angry, and after a brief fight he merges with the Aureole. This gift commands the element of space, which makes any attacks against him null. Loewe comes in on one of the guardians, and asks Weissman about Hamel. Loewe knew that the warhawks in the empire were on their last leg, and Weissman admits that he gave the idea to them which caused the hundred day was. Loewe shows no anger, but for the sleight of attacking him he uses his sword, a special weapon given to him by the Grandmaster, to create an opening for the group to take on the Aureole. Weissman eventually loses control, but you come out on top, which the Aureole disappears and Weissman makes his escape.
! Loewe got fatal wounds making the opening, and in his dying words tells Josh to not become like him, and asks Estelle to watch over Josh, as he is softhearted, despite trying to act tough. The place starts to shake, as with the Aureole gone there is nothing to keep the island supported. Josh is too depressed to move after Loewe's death, but Estelle slaps some sense into Josh and tells him that they will get out together, as she promised him and Loewe to do that. We get a scene where Weissman is confused, but suspects the Grandmaster had been testing him as well. Kevin appears, telling Weissman that this is the end of the line. Weissman tried to immobilize him, but Kevin stops him and shoots a salt pillar at him (noted to be a calamity that caused half of North Ambria to turn into salt), which causes him to turn into a statue quickly. Kevin admits that he has been playing the fool of a novice, and that he is the 5th dominion of the Gralsritter, and is one who comes to kill heretics. With Weissman dead, Kevin thinks about how Josh is lucky enough to get out of his situation, when Campanella appears. He takes Weissmans staff, and after saying he found what he was looking for leaves. Kevin wanders what he meant, but leaves knowing that's not his business.
! Everyone is trying to leave when Josh collapses from a side effect of Weissmans grip being removed. Josh rescues Estelle from falling debris, but as a result gets cut off from the rest of the group. Estelle and Josh head towards a different exit, and just as they get close to their destination, they get trapped on a pillar, where they are resigned to their fate. Estelle asks Josh to hold her tightly, and flustered asking for a second request, Josh asks Estelle if he can kiss her, which she agrees to. After a kiss the pillar collapses, and embraced in each others arms they start falling. Both the Bobcat (Capua airship), and Arseille get out, but neither can go in to save Josh and Estelle. Everyone is sad, but Dorothy notices Sieg, who seems to be happy, and you see Ragnard appear with Estelle, Josh, and Cassius on his back. With the answer given on the Aureole, he is now free to come to their aid. Ragnard claims that now the wheels of fate are turning, and no force can stop it. Estelle wanders what that means when Ragnard tells her that it will be battles involving other people. Ragnard and Cassius suggest that now is time for rest, as their battle has ended for now, and as Cassius put it, they brought a miracle.
! After the credits you have Estelle and Josh in Hamel, at Karin's grave. Unlike before the music playing is more cheerful, indicating a brighter future and the change in attitude of Josh about the whole place. Josh places Loewe's sword by the grave, and Estelle places some flowers. After a small conversation, Josh asks Estelle is she really wants to come along. Estelle says that Ouroboros will make a move again, and that when their time to return to conflict happens she wants to be better than Cassius and be prepared to face them head on. With that in mind, Estelle and Josh head off hand in hand, to lands outside of Liberl for a journey of personal growth.
