Don was using one hand to control 2 person…..... what if he used both hands?
Oh? I remember only one being controlled in the meeting/fight with Bellamy.
-
Yeah, the anime gives a misconception. Only one admiral was being controlled. The other was just defending against the one Doflamingo was possessing.
Anyway, has anyone else noticed that his power could be similar to Goldenweek's, which wasn't a devil fruit at all? Goldenweek used paint colors and designs as a hypnotic suggestion. Luffy, with a weak mind (other than combat), was very susceptible to it. Perhaps Doflamingo could be exactly like that, only using his voice or thoughts as subliminal "suggestion" to the person to live out their innermost fantasies, desires, anger, or even simply to create doubt, confusion, betrayal. Sarquiss "killing" Bellamy would work the same way if Goldenweek painted Betrayal Black on his jacket, right?
Maybe Goldenweek and Doflamingo are even related. We never did learn any of the Baroque Agent's real names, besides Robin, Croc, Daz Boness, Paula (Or was that just her alias?), Igaram, and Bon-chan. Plus, both Doflamingo and Goldenweek are flamboyant dressers.
-
I don't think Crocodile was his real name.
-
I don't think so too.
about the suggestive thingy that is similiar to Miss Goldenweek, if that was the case, then Don doesn't need to raise his hand…..... all he needs to do is just sit there and stare.....
-
Well, they did call him "Sir Crocodile" in Alabasta. But it could have been a title, you're right.
The hand gesture may be part of the suggestion. Subliminal messages can be done in a lot of ways. Ever listen to a song and swear you can hear another voice in the background? That's how it works. It's very subtle and can produce doubt or uncertainty.
-
If it was like Goldenweek then the only way we can be sure is to ask Oda on the SBS. But it's still hard to see why they could move their head [at least mouth] on their will..
-
that's why the puppet theory or the string theory make more sense….... no offence...... if it was something suggestive, the people won't be trying to fight back. And I doubt the Vice Admiral that got control has a weak mind like Luffy....
-
But that's my point. If you're consciously aware of the suggestive message, you find yourself acting it, but being unable to resist it. It could be enhanced by a devil fruit he uses.
But again, I agree, it's probably the Suji Suji no Mi.
-
Not that good with Japanese, Suji?
BTW, I thought about another ability:
If he mastered a Paramecia version of the Goro Goro no mi [Enel] he can easily get to control people using invisible waves, produced by his hands ^^! -
@Fire Fist:

I'm wondering whether Bon Clay is the real name. IIRC it was stated on the SBS that he got two names because he hadn't a female partner and Bon Clay means Christmas (or anything like that) in Japanese.
-
It's not Christmas. Bon Kurei is a holiday celebrated in July, from the 8th to the 15th. Ever see pictures of a festival where they have orange paper lanterns all over the place and dancing dragons? That's Bon Kurei. It's got a different name in China and I forget what it is.
As for what Suji means, it means String. Suji Suji no Mi, or String String Fruit.
And there can only be one form of each fruit and only one of each period.
You may be onto something though when you mention vibrations. Sound vibrations could be part of his ability. He could manipulate the sound wave and cause the brain to do one thing while the person is doing another and still have him consciously aware of it.
-
So, he'd be a premarica right?
-
paramecia type eh?…... that would be interesting...but still doesn't explain the hand gesture......
-
Well, if he produces the waves from his hands he'll need some motion.
Anyways, if his full ability is mainly around controlling, I still dunno about his fortune telling. He said a new age is coming, right? As I saw it he was way too confident it's gonna happen soon in a bang, he's bound to be planning something.
So, how can that ability really help him do that? I'm sure people are fully aware of the extends of his ability, so it won't help him deceive them into believing into the new age too. Another ability or plan has to be there and it has to be huge. What do you think? -
I think he might be thinking about becoming the Pirate King….... or even the Ruler of the whole world..... from that statement...... something big must be cooking in his mind....
-
Hi there..
So, he'd be a premarica right?
Very interesting. So, we have Paramecia here that equal to Logias, even surpassed Croc's logia.
I think, Doflamingo rather type of Over-confident, psycho person. He may think over himself too high, as New Age founder.
Thank you,
Best regards -
maybe his over-confident might be his downfall…. from the looks of it..... but I still can't imagine how anyone could defeat him........ with his control your movement thingy...

Robin.
Holds his fingers;breaks them if need be.

Hi there..
Robin.
Holds his fingers;breaks them if need be.
Very clever !! What a brilliant idea !!
Thank you,
Best regards -
Robin.

if all fights would be that easy….... Luffy would have already became the Pirate King!!!
-
Wouldn't she be controlled by the time she tries?
But then, again, I say his weakness is against more than 2 opponents. It'd be different if he had that another ability I was talking about thought..
-
I actually think that will happen, robin will hold the fingers and try to break them, but flamingo will use another of his techniques (he's gonna have more than one trick in the bag, or he wouldn't be a good fight) to break robin's hold, then from then on have to use more subtle mind control things which he can do without strings, stuff like screwing with the brain to reverse motor control (right leg moves left arm, trying to turn your head causes your knee to contract), or causing mental distress to the victim.
Regardless, a brilliant idea Kaze.
-
it's probably not as simple as that….. if Don's power is not the string string fruit, then breaking the hands will not affect his control one bit....
but if it is the string string fruit, then he might have other powers up his sleeves....
however, I do believe he won't let people break his hands that easily.......

I thought of something recently, and I don't know if it's been posted here, but how will Don defend himself from attacks? The villians usually have some technique that makes them tough to hit, Arlong had endurance, Croc had logia, and Lucci had tekkai.
So, going with the puppet theme, imagine this:
Luffy runs up to punch Donflamingo. He stands there, grinning, and takes the punch–but his head flies off! However, you notice that there's a string attaching his neck to his head. After a few minutes, Don's string retracts and he puts his head back on like nothing happened, and keeps grinning.
How sick would that be? Basically, if he had the puppet DF, I imagine that he could make his body like a puppet to take attacks.

Not a bad idea. Doflamingo may even take control of a SH and make Luffy fight them. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
Anyways, The only base Oda hasn't covered so far in regards to villians is the "Psychotic, Kill 'em all" guy. Doflamingo seems to fit the schitso (spelling) catergory perfectly.
-
I just hope the don't doesn't stray into the "Naruto's already done it" category, like Gaara vs. Crocodile.
Although it wouldn't be hard to surpass. I hear expect for one fight all the puppet battles have kind of sucked in Naruto.
Depending on his control, Don may try to use Sanji and Franky too. Imagine having Frankys weapons(in his body) turned against him again, or Sanji being forced to attack Nami or Robin? Of course, any forced fight between the SHs would suck for them.
-
There's been characters who've used puppets much before Naruto so I doubt it'll turn into that. Besides everybody knows Gaara is the son of Croc, so it's ok. LOL
I only remember the pupple battle with Kankuro (I like it), the rest I don't remember so I can't say if they were good or not. Anyways, if Oda sticks with his formula, everything should go smoothly in regards to Doflamingo fights.
