I know this has probably been said by various people at this point but me thinks Sami Zayn should ask for his release cause
boy has this company repeatedly fucked on him. Like I get the apparent reason they took the IC title off him but it’s like where was this logic when Brock held the WWE Championship and Universal titles and repeatedly violated the 30 day rule, I believe Lynch violated the rule between the lead up to Survivor Series and the build to Royal Rumble even Kairi and Asuka admittedly broke the rule (though that’s more to blame on Kairi’s concussion in addition to WWE caring less about the women’s tag titles than either of the men’s titles which paradoxically they care little about either as they’ve devalued both sets of titles with hasty and repeated title changes). But Sami’s situation is a bit more problematic with all the bullshit He’sbeen through on the main roster for the last 4-5 years you finally let the guy win a title as a heel (which he’s been since about 2017 by my recollection) and then of course you decide to have him vacate the title cause Sami apparently doesn’t want to take a risk with his health…....eh at least they won’t edit him out of footage out of spite.
WWE and other fed: Disccusion

If this happen to be true. This doesn't look good for WWE.
-
So, I can't be the only person thinking that Otis as the MITB winner is just wrong on every level… right?
Also, IC tourny brackets, Drew/Bryan, Nakamura/Styles... more of this, yes please

So, I can't be the only person thinking that Otis as the MITB winner is just wrong on every level… right?
We’ve had
- Carmella
- Alexa Bliss
- Baron Corbin
- Randy Orton
- John Cena
- Braun Strowman
- Brock Lesnar
- Sheamus.
- and we all know Ken Kennedy
As money in the bank winners Otis isn’t anywhere as bad or dubious a pick as the talent I just listed.

In terms of fan reaction you are right, but in terms of the current product, this is a rather poor WWE move. Not to sound like Jim Cornette here, but…
Does anyone really believe that Otis can beat a top WWE champion based on look alone?
Does anyone believe that Otis is smart enough to utilize this opportunity effectively?
Does anyone think that Otis, if by some chance, wins, is a big enough draw to carry a brand?I mean, the guys you listed might have been poor choices, but atleast they fit into one of the above criteria if they won.
I'm trying not to rag on Otis here because I think they could build the guy, but now isn't the right time for him, it would be like giving Scotty 2 Hotty a win over Stone Cold or Taker because he got a move over, it's just not believable. It would be much more believable for Otis to power through the IC bracket and give him a run as IC champ in a feud with Zayne/Cesaro/Nakamura (supported by Bryan/Gulak and Tucker at points) to see if he can draw more than the small section of the young male audience.

Gulak released… Sad to hear it

Can’t come off looking any dumber than Damien Sandow or Braun Strowman (though that was creative’s fault)
Almost no one is carrying the brand(s) (also to blame on creative).I mean, the guys you listed might have been poor choices, but atleast they fit into one of the above criteria if they won.
MITB should never be won by people who can’t wrestle, people who aren’t over, or people who can challenge for the title outright in addition to those who have held the title previously in some cases multiple times.

Would make sense if the IC title weren’t presently worthless thanks to WWE putting it on guys whose momentum they screw up with bad booking which they continue even during their reign (which is not the first time they’ve done this with this same title).
Gulak released… Sad to hear it
Shouldn’t be as it means he can (eventually once his no compete clause expires) go somewhere else where he might impress the company he works for enough to the point they don’t weirdly let his contract expire.
-
So apparently there are still some contract negotiations going on with Gulak/WWE which could see Drew back on the WWE roster. Would be nice because I'm enjoying the Gulak/Bryan partnership that's developing (in fact I think I've enjoyed all of his WWE characters)
Importantly there is no 90 day compete clause as it expired as opposed to fired/released.

Carmella is the worst choice ever for MITB winner, especially as the first female one and especially considering that she won with the help of James Ellsworth. She also wasn't anywhere near over or getting any kind of heat. Should have been Sasha.
Bliss winning was the right move. She was by far the most over woman on the roster at the time and while not a ratings draw (no one is today), she was the best at moving merch by a pretty good amount. Still, as I said above, there's no reason that they've been having a female MITB for so long and Sasha Banks hasn't won it.
Baron Corbin is the weirdest. He's the guy who should have had money in the bank, but they didn't do the work before he won it to elevate him to the level and definitely didn't do the work afterward.
Randy Orton ended up being a great Money in the Bank winner imo and it eventually led to what might end up as the last truly great Wrestlemania. He was a pretty great opponent for Daniel Bryan.
Cena didn't need it and they had to nerve to make his cash-in unsuccessful.
They waited a year too long to give it to Braun and then didn't let him take the belt off of Roman when he was starting to get over. Vince is an idiot.
Lesnar winning Money in the Bank was the biggest fuck you to the fans since the Mcmahons had the never to get on tv and act like they were going to fix the problems with WWE (clearly misunderstanding that they ARE the problem with WWE)
Sheamus didn't look like a great winner on paper, but he ended up getting Roman over, if only briefly, so I'm pretty ok with him winning. I think having a heel win MITB is something that usually isn't utilized that well, but he ended up being decent enough.
I see that Otis has won. I like him. I haven't watched any wrestling in a while, but I've kept up with his videos because he's hilarious. It's fair to say that he doesn't seem to be anywhere near a top guy, but I think he has the potential to be presented that way. They'd have to do a real rehabilitation of his speaking and he might have to be presented just a tad differently, but he has the background and the support of the fans that it's possible. Then again, he's in a wrestling promotion ran by Vince McMahon. Wake me up when he's gone and someone competent has taken his place so I can get back to watching wrestling.

Oh no…not JTG. This looks like the making of a tragedy.

Despite the fact that
A) She didn’t need the briefcase.
B) Was three months removed from coming off an ungodly long eight month title reign. Which would have been her fourth…...which was preceded by a nearly 6 month reign before that.
C) Was just a way for them to get out of having Ronda beat Nia (who they already buried before MITB and at MITB via Alexa cashing in and beating her) and also an easy way to give Ronda aheel to feud with.and while not a ratings draw (no one is today), she was the best at moving merch by a pretty good amount. Still, as I said above, there's no reason that they've been having a female MITB for so long and Sasha Banks hasn't won it.
Well aside from the fact Vince almost only wants to push the blondes whether they can work or not. And not helped by Vince not being all that high on Sasha even more so after that sabbatical she took last year despite what that documentary argues.
Randy Orton ended up being a great Money in the Bank winner imo and it eventually led to what might end up as the last truly great Wrestlemaniia. He was a pretty great opponent for Daniel Bryan.
I mean sure if you overlook them awkwardly screwing Bryan out of the title three times, Orton feuding with the Big Show who screwed Bryan out of the title the 3rd of the three times, the Royal Rumble fiasco, and Bryan tapping out a returning Batista at WrestleMania instead of Orton who started the whole mess further illustrating WWE doesn’t give a damn about continuity most of the time.
Cena didn't need it and they had to nerve to make his cash-in unsuccessful.
Can’t go taking a title off CM Punk…....unless you’re the Undertaker or The Rock.
They waited a year too long to give it to Braun and then didn't let him take the belt off of Roman when he was starting to get over.
Wouldn’t have mattered since they would have fed him to Brock or simply doomed Braun to having a reign worse than Ambrose did.
Sheamus didn't look like a great winner on paper, but he ended up getting Roman over,
I guess it’s not a good time to point out Sheamus cashes in on Roman minutes after having gotten pinned in one of the dumbest Survivor Series matches where the finish involved him the “heel” valiantly trying to overcome the odds against three fresh babyfaces who all beat his ass.
And the follow up to that win over Reigns was the formation of one of the most superfluous and pointless stables since Team Paige and Team Bad from the Women’s Revolution.

In the grand scheme of it all, it all ended up working, regardless of who Bryan tapped out. It's hard to comment on continuity when if they had anything planned with Orton/Daniel afterward (for instance a Summerslam match) it would have been derailed by Bryan's injury.
Wouldn’t have mattered since they would have fed him to Brock or simply doomed Braun to having a reign worse than Ambrose did.
Ambrose's reign didn't get over in the long run, but it led to AJ's first one, which was excellent. Plus it had a terrific and memorable start (though they definitely wasted the Shield triple threat.)

To me it seems irrelevant to point out every booking failure if the point is whether someone should or should have not been given the contract. The actual point is whether the intended use of it was utilized well in the end and whether that potentiality was worth it at all. Sheamus as the winner worked out because it got Roman over better than winning the belt could in any other fashion. Sheamus was so obnoxious that people were happy to see Roman beat the crap out of him and then to see him beat the crap out of Triple H (something that didn't work months later in the build to Wrestlemania) The crowd (an extremely hardcore Philly one) was able to buy into his anger and actually care about him because of how he was screwed and who screwed him and it made his win the next night at RAW really special. What happened directly after that or before it is all really weirdly entangled in bad Vincisms. But at TLC and the next night in Philly the fans were really behind him. I can't begin to defend Vince and WWE for very much, but I think this was the start of when the fans were pretty much treating Roman unfairly over him not being ready. Still, the whole Triple H feud that followed was a misstep and I've always thought they should have either put the belt on Dean at Roadblock and put him against Roman at mania or kept the belt on Roman and had Dean win the Royal Rumble. It would have been tremendous for both guys and you could have went either way with Roman.
-
She was still over and those are decent enough reasons to put it on her.
Except by that same logic Sasha, Lynch, & yes even Charlotte who were all over themselves could’ve won as well instead they went with the girl who was effectively the sixth best choice to win and once again was already coming off back to back title reigns. And who ultimately was little more than a transitional champion.
In the grand scheme of it all, it all ended up working, regardless of who Bryan tapped out. It's hard to comment on continuity when if they had anything planned with Orton/Daniel afterward (for instance a Summerslam match) it would have been derailed by Bryan's injury.
I mean they had already derailed his run by immediately having him feud with Kane, booking him again as the underdog, and by proxy continuing the whole DB vs The Authority storyline since Kane was apart of the Authority. All his injury did was ensure they’d continue the Authority idiocy with someone else which of course they did
To me it seems irrelevant to point out every booking failure if the point is whether someone should or should have not been given the contract. The actual point is whether the intended use of it was utilized well in the end
But none of those wins were utilized effectively though. They either lead to shitty title reigns or were used to setup equally shitty storylines (or both). Or in Baron Corbin’s case nothing, at least when Cena failed to cash in that lead to a feud…....with the Big Show who was not Champion at the time and eventhough they already feuded back in 2004/2009.
and whether that potentiality was worth it at all. Sheamus as the winner worked out because it got Roman over better than winning the belt could in any other fashion
Which as you mentioned lasted briefly, after that feud Reigns went back to being largely hated in pretty much every successive feud he would have afterwards. If WWE had took at least two years to build to Reigns getting that main event push everything with him starting from 2015 to onwards would be moot but nope gotta push guys you like and think are ready instead of who the fans want to see or are legit ready.

Not surprising, Vince's lawyer makes a stupid comment about Owen Hart situation.
Tonight's episode of Dark Side of the Ring is going to be interesting.
-
In interest of fairness no one looks good in any of that especially Bret if that's true.
-
The Owen Hart episode of Dark Side of the Ring is one of the most heartbreaking thing I ever seen. I don't blame Owen's family at all for not wanting him in the hall of fame.
-
So let me get this straight Charlotte is defending the NXT title at Takeover In Your House but this monday she's going to be involved in a #1 Contender's match for the Raw Women's title.
Charlotte stans: cHaRlOtTe iSn'T oVeRpUsHeD.
Let's also have her show up on all three shows for literally no reason and when no else is doing this. They also put Natalya in the match not Liv Morgan who comically enough has been winning matches whereas Natalya just lost to Shayna this week.
-
As much I like Charlotte, even I agree she is being on tv too much lately. I rather had Liv and Shanya being in the triple threat match over Charlotte and Natalya.
-
Holy shit, this has been a bad week for wrestling. Rip Hana Kimura. I feel really bad for her family and friends and really just for such a young life to go out like that. Damn
-
I haven't watch much of Stardom. But Hana was a great talent. She'll be missed.
-
Double or Nothing was amazing. The entire show was great in my opinon, I actually was surpise that Shida won the women's championship tonight. The Stampede match was way better then the WWE's Titan Tower Money in the Bank match.
-
22 isn't no age to die. :(
-
So just seen Double or Nothing, and to be frank it was great, one of the better PPV's I've seen in a long time, BUT I wouldn't call it amazing, or anything above great.
I see a few poor things and a few amazing things which can level out somewhat.
My fav things
Sammy G as a whole, under the radar a bit with MJF being the best heel on AEW, but Sammy is superb in the role.
More right than wrong match outcomes. Always great to finish a PPV thinking this was great the right guys won mostly, something WWE struggles with on their main PPV's.
The finish to the title match. Felt the loser would be hurt by the match but having the ref call it leaves open ended without hurting either guy, Mox still looks good and Brodie still feels menacing.
MJF… just MJF. More MJF please on anything AEW related. This guy is as close to heel perfection as we may see in the next 10 years of heels. My hated things
Orange Cassidy - Not his biggest fan but his use in the ladder match is Otis MITB level dumb. I get he's meant to be lazy but he came off moronic and stupid in trying to use the ladder.
Shawn Spears - Note to AEW - PICK A PATH AND STAY ON THE PATH WITH HIM PLEASE!!! I don't know what they are trying to do and feels like a creative have nothing for you right not thing, plus the match was just why.
Hardy in water/ reincarnation spot - Ok, another WTF moment that ended with meh, felt done for the sake of being done and honestly shouldn't have been in this match as not needed. Also as a final though, any companies wanting to do an experience like the Stampede match... make sure the match type compliments what you are trying to do. Stampede did this excellently, heck the boneyard match in WWE did it decently enough too (MITB failed massively in this), but on the Stampede match they picked a 5 on 5 match anywhere falls and this worked together well, it split up the match allowed the guys to get into the spot areas without feeling forced and allowed for quick transitions to keep the match pace moving while the guys around for the other spots, so credit to AEW for that one.
-
Some major changes for WWE tv tonight. As an NHL fan, I hope the wrestlers bang on the glass when someone hit the barrier.
-
They could've at least given the audience members chairs.
Kevin Owens putting over Garza is huge.
-
Too bad WWE will forget about it in the coming weeks like EC3 beating Ambrose.
-
They could've at least given the audience members chairs.
That was really disappointing. Since AEW let their wrestlers sit down in chairs in their empty arena shows.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Nia hurt Kairi again at today's Raw taping. This is the 2nd time in a month that she did this to Kairi. She's getting an reputation of hurting people, and that's not a good thing.

Well, it probably is because she sucks.

She’s had this reputation for awhile now and of course nothing will come up it.

FTR have arrived in AEW!! I can't wait for the dream match between them and the Young Bucks.

That was a WCW like brawl to end tonight's episode of Dynamite. And it was amazing.

Io Shirai wrestles Charlotte Flair wins by DQ because of Charlotte
Io Shirai wrestles Rhea Ripley wins by DQ because of Charlotte
Io and Rhea team against Charlotte & Chelsea Charlotte pins Io via dirty pin.Maybe it’s because I’ve been listening to too much Bryan & Vinny but how does this make any sense?
-
Mike Tyson's mic skills are still impetuous.
-
Seriously WWE…. You're doing this storyline with Jeff.
-
Seriously WWE…. You're doing this storyline with Jeff.
Wonder where Reby Sky is to complain they’re punishing Jeff because of Matt.
-
Ohh Riddle on Smackdown.
My thought - Gulak, Bryan and Riddle trio based around Gulakmetrics and silly but fun exercise related stuff to subtlely promote healthyness while feuding with Cesaro/Nakaamura/Zayn or AJ
My reality - Riddle/Hardy vs Corbin/Sheamus feud -
So WWE apparently didn’t edit out Nia causing Kairi Sane to get a gash on her head, which Kairi posted a picture of on Twitter.
Also because they couldn’t let Asuka beat Charlotte let’s have Asuka in her first match in weeks get counted out.
God this company is stupid.
-
So rummaging around for wrestling stuffs and I stumble upon the FTW talking with Jim Cornette on leaving WWE/ AEW/ Bucks/ the 80's parody gimmick WWE wanted to do before they left / etc and thats some really interesting stuff from FTR
-
Did they also talk about how WWE called Zack Ryder’s girlfriend to ask if they could use his pool for a skit?
-
I heard Zack's pool story on this week episode of Major Wrestling Figures podcast. And I don't blame Zack's reaction about it. Since they just released him and he's the owner of the home, not Chelsea.
-
Oh dear, poor move on WWE side of things, but this seems to be how companies work (AEW are a little guilty of similar things too)
-
Here is today's New Japan Press Conference with English subtitles.
-
I like how last week Asuka couldn’t beat Charlotte because of a distraction by Nia Jax. This week let’s initially put them in a rematch then for no reason have them team up and have them win and then afterwards have Charlotte layout Asuka….whose feuding with Nia Jax.......then put them in another singles match where Charlotte beats Asuka via pin fall because of Nia Jax (with a move she never pins anyone with).
Why is this company so fucking stupid?
-

@Johnny:
It rhymes with "Nince VcMahon".
Russo must have control of Vince's brain.
Lol I didn’t know that was the go home episode for Backlash.
Jesus take the wheel.
-
So Paul Heyman was booted from Head Creative of Raw.
I like how you have a small minority blaming Heyman for some of the stuff that got booked on Raw while completely forgetting anything Heyman booked had to be signed off by Vince. So while we may have to thank Heyman for stuff like Lashley-Rusev Vince gave him the greenlight for that and I'm pretty sure was the same one who ultimately decided to have Lashley kill Rusev repeatedly before killing off the angle.
-
I don't know how to feel about with Bruce being the head of both Raw and Smackdown. I wonder how is this going to effect Something to Wrestle even more now. I like the podcast, but since Bruce gone back to WWE last year it started really affect the show.
-
Oof, well I guess that ends Apollo Crews's push, and that also explains why I haven't been seeing Ricochet and Cedric Alexander alongside Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne.
