@Invader:
Christianity =/= Logic.
Logic involves science. And common sense.
Did you know that most major branches of science were founded by Christians? Isaac Newton for example.

Science without Religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.

Exactly. Good grief, the water supply process is laid out in friggin' Ezekiel.

And the point being?
Well, it's that though Christians choose a path that is illogical, it's not because we don't know or follow logic in our daily lives.
If we consider that in Genesis, it speaks of God making man "in his own image", what does it mean? Personally, I do not believe that it refers to the body, but to the spirit. As God is a spirit, so too are we spirits, fashioned to look like him.
Think of the implication. How might God treat us?
As toys? Tools? Pets? Or just garbage to throw in the furnace?
Yet, he wants to treat us with kindness because he loves us. Or so it's written.
In the Book of Joshua, we are told that he is a jealous God, and vengeful too. Yet we are commanded to refrain from jealousy and wrath. Just as well, I never liked King Bradley that much…
Is this hypocricy? Perhaps, but let us consider the alternative. If everyone acted upon their jealousy, and everyone expressed their wrath with violence, the world would be a bloodbath-more than it is already. While God can act in ways I can only describe as cruel, I do not believe that he is cruel in nature. Even humans have to be cruel to be kind sometimes. The difference between God and ourselves lies in limitation. We are limited in this life by certain needs. Food, water, shelter, oxygen, and love. Hey, everyone needs love. We're also limited in perception. We never actually "see" anything-we merely see the light that is being reflected off of objects around us. Sound is possible only where an atmosphere is present. Finally, the constraint of time. We cannot go back to the past to change it, however much we may want to. Nor can we skip forward to see how our decisions will turn out. God has no limitations-other than what he sets for himself. Thus he knows what the extent of the results of his actions will be and (I believe) chooses carefully. We cannot always know to what extent our actions will affect others. Thus, to help prevent us causing terrible damage to ourselves and others, he prohibits us from acting on our wrath and jealousy.
And so, I do not think people should solve their problems with violence-even if I feel otherwise. That is a rambling example of logic.

My favorite quote was always the one from the physicist at a university that said, "If you want to find atheists, you won't find them here in the science department. Go look in the philosophy department." XD
I like to think that god is all love and kindness, and that evil exists on earth, and among humans. Thus, when something bad happens, it is not god who has caused it, but simply, that things like that happen sometimes, becasue evil exsists, and people are not perfect. But God is there to help in any way he can. As long as we are willing to listen. God always has our best intrest in mind. Sometimes though, his plans for us are not always the same as what we pray for.
