It seems that Nanatsu no Taizai is gonna have a original anime movie, with a plot written by Nakaba himself.
Seven Deadly Sins
-
-
There's a better image on tumblr, although not so much, the villain kinda looks like Ban, and the two goddess in the center look like Mel and Liz's one-shot appearance.
-
When was Mael killed and when did Meliodas get cursed?
I always imagined that he got cursed at the end of the holy war and has been spending the last 3000 years in this circle and that's why the commandment would be ignorant to the curse.
Then Estrossa looks like he would have looked if he wasn't cursed and he grew up. But Estrossa already looks like his current self when he killed Mael. So does that mean that he got cursed before the holy war when he left his post and the thing lasted a coupled century so Estrossa could grow up?
I lie seeing a more humane side to Rudociel when he meet someone that reminds him of his brother. Still would prefer if we have had a more equal fight between Escanor and Meliodas. With maybe him quickly dispatching him once gaining the powers of the demon king.
Cath is brutal.
Arthur doesn't know everyone escaped it seems.
-
There a theory that Meliodas was the pacifism commandment, and having a curse preventing him said commandment to grow old seems like a really good idea.
-

There is now a good quality pic, also the movie seems to be called Prisoners of the sky and you were right, those two at the center look like Mel and Eli oneshot versions.
Pd: Ban seems to be a fighting a badly done copy of Galan, not really a fan of that design.
-
Ban has an evil twin? Or maybe a previous incarnation that is resurrected.
-
Can't get over his unnatural body position.

@Shobu:
Now the only thing that will give me the strength to keep reading this is inertia⌠and good close combat battles.
So, it's Bleach?
-
-
Bleach didn't even have good fights after a point..
But⌠but... Mayuri vs a Giant Hand...

But⌠but... Mayuri vs a Giant Hand...
One decent fight in the last, I reaaaaally wanna say 300 chapters, is hardly a reason.
So, here's the summary to the movie, it happens post-Hendy but before Commandments:
The plot summary of The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky (GekijĹban Nanatsu no Taizai TenkĹŤ no Torawarebito) have been revealed on the official site.
A little time has passed since The Seven Deadly Sins and Princess Elizabeth brought peace to the kingdom. To celebrate the kingâs birthday, The Seven Deadly Sins travel to a remote land in search of the phantom ingredient âsky fish.â Meliodas and Hawk end up at a âSky Palaceâ that exists above the clouds, where all the residents have wings. Meliodas is mistaken for a boy who committed a crime and is thrown in prison. Meanwhile, the residents are preparing a ceremony for defense against a ferocious beast that awakens once every 3,000 years. But the Six Knights of Black, a Demon Clan army, arrives and removes the seal on the beast in order to threaten the lives of the residents of Sky Palace. Meliodas and his allies meet the Six Knights of Black in battle. -

chapter spoilers:
! Merlin wants to rescue Arthur alone. The group tries to talk her out of it and she says Arthur is the child of hope chosen by the Holy sword and will lead Britannia. Back at Camelot, Arthur has pulled out Excalibur and Chandler joins the Demon trio. Zeldris wonders what is that the Holy sword gives off and Meliodas answers that it is neither the thing of Demons nor that of the Goddesses. Chandler attacks first with his Exterminate Ray only to be sliced by the king who tells him not to underestimate the humans. Zeldris mentions that he remembers having seen that technique. Arthur then proceeds to cut off Cusack's arm to get Cath back and cuts Zeldris' master in two. He then blows out a wall to put Cath out of the fight. A clash between him and Zeldris ensues. Zeldris points out that Arthur's technique is the Dance of Ignorance used by blind fighters against any surprise attacks. Arthur then uses Deathpecker on the prince. The latter remembers that it's Talatenos' technique and adds that the one that defeated Chandler and Cusack is Calphen's. Arthur says that Merlin told him that the sword was powerful so it wasn't wielded that easily, until an unheard power would appear. Which is ironic since Zeldris knew about it. We move back to the inn and Diane asks Merlin why the Holy sword makes one a king. The sorceress answers that the sword was brought to the a human fighter by a princess of a fountain in ancient times and doesn't possess any magic. The king Calphen was the first to wield the sword and when he died, he cleansed the sword with his own blood and soul for his successor. Instead of rusting from blood, the sword sees its strength and sharpness increased. The process repeats with countless heroes. Back at Camelot, Arthur takes Zeldris out and confronts Meliodas. Merlin says that Arthur has been recognized by the heroes of Britannia's history, that he's the king among kings.
-
Hot diggidy dog, that was a good chapter.
-
For once Merlin was not cryptic about her motivations, finally. Now can you say you not romantically in love with Arthur so Escanor can go rescue him and fight apex of mankind to apex of kingkind against the demon scum.
-
Oh, look! It's Hitsugaya
-
@.access:
Oh, look! It's Hitsugaya
Arthur is 1000% more likable than Hitsugaya.
-
allfor one in sword form
at least now we have also an human element in this holy war
-
I'm curious about the plot in regards to goddess queen and demon king, but I join you in cheering for the great side story about 'Garan the executioner'.
Good idea Uki. He had so much charisma on him, i miss him.
So, it's Bleach?
@.access:
Oh, look! It's Hitsugaya
:ninja:
Suspicious.
Bleach was made by mah boi Tite, he always surprises me so my read wasn't for inertia with him.
-
Loved this show, best intro song ever
-
Yeah, not a fan of these kinds of powerups. He became stronger and cooler and well dressed all at the same time via ghosts of human kings who we've never seen or heard of before.
-
I've lost track of the demons regenerative ability. are chandler and that other guy dead now?
-
They can't die unless their hearts are entirely destroyed , so they are still alive.
-
Fairy Tail-esque kind of powerup with definite Bleach like "character development" for Arthur indeed, but imho we can only improve from him being nothing but a useless coward up to this point. I still hope this doesn't mean he will be the or one of the main focus points of the series following this. Also, he definitely shouldn't be able to dominate the 4 strongest demons we've seen in the entire series so far, I'm not sure how the general powerscaling in the series will endure this.. I mean, he just jumped to Escanor levels of power. The upcoming chapters will decide on the direction this story takes, I guess.
-
It's not like Excalibur wasn't hyped up as hell througouth the story or anything (sarcasm).
-
From a meta level, this was just the cool intro chapter. Just like when Escanor first showed up, or when they were saying that Meliodas was unbeatable if he has a sword in his hand. He has sliced the two old ones down, but probably did not kill them. Despite hitting Meliodas and his brother multiple times, he doesn't seem to be able to hurt them. Great skill to be sure, but he has yet to show the strength needed to win. We will see if this is actually a major power up or just a grab for time.
-
It's Excalibur and King Arthur, it's like saying "Who's this Jesus dude, and why did he die two days ago, I guess we'll never see him again"
â- Update From New Post Merge ---
Yeah, it's weak, but it is not FT/Bleach levels of weak.
Besides, you accepted Mael being revealed, and next chapter Escanor being revealed as his heir.
There's a Merlin, like 20 chapters later there's an Arthur, 100 chapters later there's a Magic sword in Arthur's castle that can't be moved by anyone of the supre strong villains.
-
Yeah people claiming SDS has been hitting Fairy Tail/Bleach levels of bad writing are going way overboard, probably because the story isn't unfolding the way they wanted.
I disagree with a lot of things Nakaba has done, but making excalibur a weapon to level the fields in favor of the humans was not one of those. -
The massive power up makes sense, but it would've had more impact if I actually cared about Arthur.
But calling it Bleach is a bit overboard. Once Arthur has several transformations that makes no sense, spends a chapter doing one attack and then explaining ever detail about what he just did, then we can start comparing it to Bleach.
And at least Nakaba knows how to make a power up look cool. Overpowered beings fighting with awesome, overpowered attacks is half the reason I read this series.

More of the Druid's Altar side story:
! The King of the Altar Side Story
Troll queen: âBufufu
It seems like we got ourselves some foolish intruders.
My trolls, go kill those villains that invade our holy ground!â
! But really, what an ugly form this isâŚ
Even though our magic is compatible⌠maybe I should have taken a better lookâŚ
But it will take some more time until my real body is reconstructed⌠Bufu
This is all that girlâs fault! That shameless woman that broke our laws!
I, her best friend, even warned her! Get away from that man, I told her! Aaaah, so annoying! So annoying!
Elizabeth!! That is why you were cursed to reincarnate for all eternity!!
But thatâs not enough to still my anger⌠Eventually I will find you and punish you! After all you will only reincarnate again even if you were to die!â
Meliodas: âWhat a best friend you areâŚâ
Troll queen: âWho is there?!â
Meliodas: âThe spell that was cast on the trolls⌠that was the âBreath of Blessâ , a technique used by only higher class goddesses.
The demons call it âCheat Curveâ (?? Canât really make it out clearly, but it means âSwindler Lightâ)⌠Pushing the targetâs sense of exaltation to its limits, itâs a brainwashing technique that even stops them from feeling fear. Making them into loyal puppets.â
Troll queen: âYou!!â
The son of the demon king! Meliodas!!â
Meliodas: âFor someone from the goddess clan that call themselves the white hand of guidance youâre saying some horrible thingsâ
Jenna: âThe son of the demon king?! So he really IS that Meliodas!â
Meliodas: âWere you not a friend of Elizabeth, Jelamet?â
! Jelamet: âShut up!
Shut up!
Zaneri: âThat leader of the goddess corps, Jelamet?!â
Jenna: âSh!â
Jelamet: âIâll cut off your head
and throw it in front of Elizabethâs feet!â
! today's lesson: the goddess are whinny bitches. -
Anyway, what happened to Arthur's time delay attacks that he used to dispose all of those demons? Sure, he's OP now and doesn't need it, but it really would have helped the last chapter. He was in quite the pinch.

They don't stop the demons from moving so delaying the effect of his attacks wouldn't help him and would be counterproductive(since damage wouldbe delayed). He mostly used it (or his master) so that he wasn't there to be caught by a commandment when the demons died.
-
We don't really know the details and all applications of that ability, though. Maybe it can be used defensively as well. He did manage to get away from all those demons without them noticing much.
-
Besides, what use could have a delayed slash against current opponents that you need to neutralize right now?
-
Again, if he can delay slashes, maybe he can delay other things. Reactions and such. It was more a question and less a criticism. I found that ability of his a lot more interesting compared to a simple power level boost he got now.
Perhaps we'll get to see it next chapter.
-
I love anything King Arthur and Excalibur, so any comparisons to Bleach went right over my head.
OMFG old school.
Loved this show, best intro song ever
All cartoons from late 80s/early 90s had the best intros. Now they're just lazy.

Chapter summary to make those who fast to dismiss the series bite their tongues:
! The four Demons are fine. Chandler even adds that Arthur's attacks had no effect, that they wanted to try how good of a thing Excalibur was. He then notices, and points it out to him, that a part of Cusack's moustache got cut off, which angers him. Arthur looks frightened and Cath tells him he has to awaken his magic. The king says that even if he doesn't have magic, as long as he has Excalibur, he won't lose. The Demons then give off the ominous, beast-like auras of theirs. Arthur finds hard to wield the sword as it feels heavy to him and looks overcome with something, making him kneel down. Cusack tells him he has made two big mistakes. One being the lack of strength to use the sword's power and another being he picked the wrong opponents. Cusack goes on and says there were indeed heroes powerful enough to be feared by Demons but that's true for mere Demons, he adds that the four of them are the highest-ranked ones. He then uses the technique called Resonant. This is where Merlin teleports in the scene with the intention of taking Arthur (and Cath) back and uses Icicle Castle on the Demons. Meliodas asks her to give them the Faith. She didn't but tells him his loved one and friends risked their lives to save him. She finally brings the two back to the inn. But that doesn't stop Cusack from moving his arms so that Arthur would do the very same actions and ultimately stab himself at the dismay of the Sins. Especially Merlin who shouts his name. Note that Elizabeth's there. Title of next chapter is "Time for a sortie".

Merlin Gaiden is probably near.
-
So is Escanor after the reveal of his powers.
-
Oh Arthur is dead, if only we had a healer in our party.
But oh the sword won't budge, if only we had people capable of brainwashing allied to us.
The ending is pure shonen forced drama, but it was nice to have a chapter showcasing that the demons are still a threat and to shut up the asspull-bandwagoners. -
Those two alone are stronger than all the Commandments. It speaks volumes when their aura manifests in the form of eldritch abominations.
-
By the way, the two shadows from behind are Meliodas and Zeldris.
It's the first time we see that shadow ever since Byzel Festival arc.

Is this somehow implying those are their true apperances?
