What is that outfit, a schoolgirl ninja ? Either way, I loved her new "ninja tools" mechanics, it reminds me of her version in "Pocket Fighter" or "Puzzle Fighter".

She had an alt outfit like that in SSF4 but without the mask.

aaaaand Ibuki's been delayed until the June story mode update. Despite clearly being playable, as shown in the Capcom UK stream today. as a result, will not be eligible for EVO.
looks Capcom's up to their old tricks again…

Two more veterans have joined the Street Fighter V's concept artwork library. This time Capcom released SFV concepts for Blanka and Cody, complete with their bios, and both fighters show off updated appearances. For anyone who likes to use (or mains) Blanka or Cody, their inclusion in SFV's concept art offers some hope that they might eventually appear as playable characters.
Blanka
[hide]Name: Blanka
Height: 6' 3 (192cm)
Weight: 216lbs (98kg)
Blood type: B
Birthday: 12th of February
Country of origin: Brazil
Likes: Samantha, arapaima, tropical fruits
Dislikes: Army antsIntroduction: He gained his electric powers in a battle with an electric eel! He unleashed fierce rolling body attacks! (Those made for real painful counter hits back in the day…) It's Blanka. His real name is Jimmy.
Bio: Ever since the airplane he was riding as a child crashed in the depths of the jungle, he's survived on his own as a child of the wilderness. His specialty is making fun of his opponent and using unpredictable movement. Oh, and the "Samantha" listed in his likes is his mother!
[/hide]
Cody:
[hide]Name: Cody
Height: 6' 0 (185cm)
Weight: 176lbs (80kg)
Blood type: O
Birthday: 18th of April
Country of Origin: U.S.A.
Likes: Picking fights
Dislikes: Being lecturedIntroduction: This time, it's the Final Fight protagonist, who brought down the crime organization Mad Gear with nothing but his fists (and knives, and steel pipes, and wooden swords). This man knows all about beatdowns.
Bio: Once, he was the hero who saved Metro City, but unable to adjust to a peaceful life, he was imprisoned after being involved in numerous violent events. He's very well-versed in using knives. He has a younger brother named Kyle.

Kinda liked Blanka's new look…

Can they just I don't know have Cody stop being a convict?

Can they just I don't know have Cody stop being a convict?
Generally speaking, frequently escaping from prisons tends to add more time onto your stay there.
-
Can they just I don't know have Cody stop being a convict?
Nope. They made it so even he himself believes he needs to stay in jail. He only breaks out every so often when evil shit is going down and he wants to go beat them up. Though he won't admit it and masks it as just scratching and itch to fight.

As you've probably heard by now, a huge update for Street Fighter V is planned for the end of this month. "A Shadow Falls" is name of SFV's 1-player story mode, and if you're not willing to wait until the end of June, you can check out the first 10 minutes of the mode's cinematics. Spoiler Warning! The 10-minute preview features several character cameos (who haven't yet appeared in-game).
[hide]Poor Alex , "Why I am with so many weirdos ?" Also, is that Sean in 5:18 ?[/hide]

SFV's launch has been a trainwreck, but I still believe the underlying game is solid and a lot of fun. If Capcom continues to support it like they did SF4 (which was hardly perfect 3 months into its life, either) we should have a really excellent game on our hands in year or two's time. But I still don't know if it will ever get mainstream success, just because of that horrible launch. Finally adding the story mode will help, but will anybody go back and edit their old reviews? Potential buyers will still see the 3/10 user score on metacritic, and that's gonna hurt.
Excited for the story mode though, if only because we'll get to play Juri, Urien, and the other unreleased DLC characters in it!
-
Since the video was removed, here is another link.
Capcom dropped some exciting Street Fighter V news this afternoon. The long-awaited Cinematic Story Expansion, officially titled "A Shadow Falls", is coming to SFV later this month as a free update. The story mode is 3-4 hours long, has 3 difficulty modes, and features all 6 DLC characters as playable! Check out additional details, screenshots of Story Mode, and a brand new SFV poster art from Bengus over at Capcom Unity.
-
I wasn't aware free Guile and Alex were going to be removed and then needed to be paid for after the fact. Capcom gonna Capcom.

I'd say no that's how bad the salt looks.

they were always only temporarily free until they established the cash shop. Use them now, do their story mode/trials/survival to get about 50k points while you still can.

Some new SFV screenshots of the upcoming "Extra Battle" mode have surfaced (via Dengeki Online). Besides Shadaloo henchman jumping into battles, it appears alternate versions of stages will be featured in the mode (and hopefully added to VS mode, as well). In addition, one screenshot shows a new area of the City in Chaos stage, confirming a new stage transition is coming to the game (finally).

Capcom Germany uploaded a video playthrough of Ibuki's SFV story mode on Youtube. For those who can't wait a couple more weeks for SFV's hyped up June update, this 6-minute video reveals all the cutscenes & story artwork within Ibuki's SFV story, along with footage of Ibuki's alternate story costume.
-
In case anyone was hoping the artwork would be improved using the months since launch, that was not the case. Either Bengus was rushed, or Bengus is a shit artist nowadays, but either way Capcom signed off on it and thought it was acceptable, and made no moves to get him to improve it later.
Should've hired Murata.
!
-
I like the art style, but it is quite jarring to see lythe Ibuki amd Karin in the drawings then suddenly buff in the CG models.
-
Everything is rushed as hell in this game.
-
I get the feeling this video will be removed, but anyway. Balrog.
-
I dig that hood.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Wait, did I just saw a reference to that scene in the SF Cartoon?
-
Balrog Trailer
-
I'm hyped for Juri and Urien…
But that Balrog stage and theme revival... So damn good.
Also, their character models seem to be getting better. Maybe they could update some of the uglier ones they've made? (KEN!)
-
Urien with clothes is weird…But it shouldn't.
And I dig that eyepatch on Juri.
-
I've always wanted Urien in a suit, as long as he also has a banana-hammock costume as well. They gave Juri a skin-tight bodysuit instead of bare cleavage like she shows in the story mode illustrations, so that's sure to rustle some jimmies. Again, it's just one costume, it's not a big deal. I wanna see that toned midriff personally, so hoping for at least one outfit that caters to that.
Balrog looks like Balrog, not much else to say! If you told me he was just doing the same combo repeatedly in that little trailer (aside from the turnaround punch and juggle punches) I'd believe you. Music sounds sick, tho.
-
Karin in a Bikini and Juri HYPE!
-
The blue pimp guy was always my favourite BGM character btw.
-
Character Artwork
Juri
[hide][/hide]Balrog
[hide][/hide]Here are Balrog's V-System details.
V-Skill: KKB - A unique move that twirls his body while moving forward. While activated, you can dodge projectiles as well as string together attacks. You can even activate KKB before a special hits you, allowing you to be a technical inside fighter.
V-Trigger: Crazy Rush - A chance to be the aggressor when activated! Steam rises from his body and allows you to string together specials like Charging Buffalo and Bursting Buffalo.
Critical Art: Gigaton Blow - Unleash the fury from your fist with this simple, yet destructive critical art. It can be connected with various moves. Make sure to include it in your combos.
Along with the reimagined SF2 Vegas stage, the beach stage will become available July 1st for 70,000 fight money. Karin's premium summer costume will be available to purchase. Last but not least, check out Balrog's Premium & Story costumes.
-
!
Suddenly, Capcom remembers Rival Schools is a thing. -
How is Juri doing that with her left ankle!? >___<
-
That beach stage looks nice, but I wonder how the shallow water will mess with the low-to-the-ground projectiles, like Dhalsim's flame carpet and Birdie's can/banana?
-
This morning, Capcom released a new trailer for Street Fighter V's cinematic story expansion, "A Shadow Falls". The trailer provides a look at Urien & Juri in the story, and a few of Bison's Dolls make their in-game debut! In addition to the new story mode, SFV's free July 1st update will add playable characters Balrog & Ibuki, Extra Battle, new stages, stage transitions, new costumes & more!
Was that Decapre on 0:47 ?
-
Cinematic Story Mode was awesome :D
! Gill shows up at the end of story mode
-
Now this…Just YES.
[hide][/hide] -
Finished Story Mode. Kinda meh, but some things were cool.
Slightly spoilery stuff:
! - It was cool that they went to the effort of designing every single doll, and actually gave them some thought. Like, one uses poison, the other a katana, the other uses a spear. . .pretty cool.
! - I like the new Juri AND Urien. Can't wait to get them.
! - Are they gonna do something with that kid with powers following Balrog around? He can only grab things from a distance and. . .that's it?
! - Dislike the way they treated Chun Li, story and fight wise. You only get to use her once, and before that she gets defeated twice by a character you control. Same thing with Cammy, who gets defeated by Vega not once, but twice, and gets saved by Juri not once, but twice. They trully have become the Worf of Street Fighter.
! - On the other hand, Karin and Rashid are real mvp's here. Karin is portrayed as a powerhouse, which I wasn't expecting, and Rashid brings the emotional core of the game. There's one moment near the end were I even felt some feels. Pretty touching stuff. If you thought he was some kind of comic relief, think again. He's pretty epic in his heroics.
! - Thinking about it, Guile is also portrayed as kind of a pushover. He does nothing during the climax, and his only other moment is. . .getting easily dispatched by Charlie.
! - Necalli. . .what was even his point? Bison apparently planned for his appearance, but. . .for what purpose? It's never clarified. And the thing is, he's kind of a chump?- At least they did amp up the difficulty a bit over the joke that were the prologues, if only for very few select fights. VERY few. Still incredibly unchallenging. And still no difficulty select option. What. The. Fuck.
Overall, nice-ish effort to bring some narrative into the game, some okish moments, but they still have soooo much to learn from Mortal Kombat 9 and X in that regard. This lacked ambition.
Now, when are they gonna implement the Daily Challenges? The ammount of Fight Money needed to buy everything is INSANE. Survival mode is a supreme bitch to do, like uber supreme bitch, and I'm out of stuff to do to earn Fight Money. Are they forcing us to buy stuff in the end? That wasn't what they promised. It seemed like these daily challenges where the thing they were giving us to earn money more easily, but half a year later they're still not implemented, and I don't hear a single word from Capcom on that end. Did they drop the idea completely?
-
I completed story mode and:
[hide]I liked that they put distant personalities and different fighting moves for each of the dolls. The growing difficulty was a good thing to expereince, sure you can skip a hard match, but where is the fun in doing this ? Sometimes, it bothered me that I had to play as a character I didn't want because I wanted to see the other one winning (mostly all the Vega fights).
Karin and Rashid were great, Chun-Li and Guile just were there. Cammie was in the same boat untill Decapre showed up. Mika, Ibuki, Birdie and the rest were great comic relief. Vega was awkward, Balrog was great but I still want to know his future and FANG..first he was fun now he is cringy. About Bison, meh… He was fine, I guess.
Nice Gill "cameo", I still want to know more about Urien and what he will do.[/hide]

I really think it is funny of Capcom trying to copy Arc Systems. But I would pay a leg for a Darkstalkers Story Mode.
-
I really think it is funny of Capcom trying to copy Arc Systems. But I would pay a leg for a Darkstalkers Story Mode.
That'd be pretty difficult without a Darkstalkers game to tie it to.
-
That'd be pretty difficult without a Darkstalkers game to tie it to.
That is what the leg joke means.
-
^ The prospect not enough to throw in an arm too?
-
I'm picturing a Darkstalkers Special Edition release, that comes with one of Jedah's severed limbs.
And I can back up what the above posters said on the story mode - it's some light fun, but mis-handles a few characters and feels like a lot of missed opportunities. And as predicted, it's something I'll play once (well twice actually, gotta get the FM for hard mode) and then never touch again. WOW THIS MULTIPLAYER GAME FELT SO INCOMPLETE WITHOUT THE STORY MODE GLAD IT'S HERE NOW
-
After Juri and Urien, I think/hope Capcom releases a "daily challenge" mode, so casual players can earn more points. Besides this mode, more clothes and new stages are going to be available.
For the next year, more characters, more modes (please arcade mode) and why not, "Super Street Fighter V" patch.
-
No surprise there
Before EVO '16's Street Fighter V top 8 finals, Yoshinori Ono took the stage to confirm Juri Han as SFV's next DLC fighter. Ono also mentioned that Juri will be released before the end of the month. That said, it probably won't be long before Capcom unveils Juri's full SFV trailer and screenshots, so be sure stay tuned! Yoshinori Ono also announced "EVO Japan" which we'll know more about soon.
-
Infiltration won EVO, as expected. He's still the man to beat. Watching Street Fighter on ESPN was a little surreal, though. I hope it brought some good exposure, not just for SFV but for competitive fighting games as a whole. Also, it felt disappointing to not get a big reveal at top8, but then I remembered we just got that whole thing at CEO a few weeks ago, and they're not gonna announce season 2 until Capcom cup most likely.
-
There is zero point in buying the overpriced stage, cause you get it randomly in ranked for example anyway from time to time, same with all the other stages. xD And it's not liek there is any single player content that you will play over and over and desperately need to have the stage.^^

Capcom announced new info and visual content for SFV's Juri at their San Diego Comic-Con 2016 today. Juri will become available next Tuesday, July 26 at 5pm PDT.
V-Skill: Kasatsushu - Juri builds charges up and rushes at the opponent, kicking them from behind. Juri can choose to charge Kasatsushu by holding down the V-Skill command. During this charge, she can cancel Kasatsushu at any time by inputting a forward or backward dash. Additionally, she maintains her charge level after the cancel.
V-Trigger: Feng Shui Engine Type Alpha - Juri activates the Feng Shui Engine which allows her to cancel all of her standard attacks, both in the air and on the ground, into one another. In addition, each strength of her Fuharenkyaku attacks will remain in their charged state.
Critical Art: Sakkai Fuhazan - Juri kicks out a large slicing blast towards the opponent that hits multiple times.
-
My main from SF4 (other than Ken) is back and looking fast and fine!
-
Her abs are smaller/not there and she doesn't balance people on her foot before slamming them on the ground
-∞/10 Literally unplayable.

Capcom's most recent SFV update blog details incoming updates for this month and next. Later this month, Capcom is continuing effort to resolve rage quitter issues with a new "lockout" system, League Point penalties and stricter guidelines. In September, the first Double Fight Money event will be held in ranked match. Additionally, VS CPU mode & Daily Targets will be added. Further details at Capcom Unity.
Keeping the game alive..Good Capcom, good.
-
This game needs more characters. 16 characters at launch is way too low for a fighting game released in 2016.
-
Capcom has been pretty quiet lately regarding updates to Street Fighter V. Out of nowhere, Capcom just released Urien's official SFV gameplay trailer early this morning, demonstrating SFV's next playable DLC character in action. In the trailer, Urien shows off some new & improved attacks combos over his story mode rendition. Capcom will announce Urien's release date in addition to other details of the upcoming September update next week at the Tokyo Game Show.
V-Skill: Metallic Aura - Urien laughs maniacally while enveloping his body with his Metallic Aura. Once charged, his skin tone darkens and the next forward-propelling special move can temporarily absorb one attack.
V-Trigger: Aegis Reflector - Urien opens his arms and creates an energy barrier in front of him. The barrier will reflect projectiles back at the opponent and the direction held when activating the V-Trigger determines where it appears. Opponents who touch the barrier without blocking will take damage and be knocked back. With a full V-meter, Urien can project two barriers.
Critical Art: Dominate Crush - Urien channels energy into his arm and slams it into the ground, striking his opponent with a pillar of destruction.
Well, that was it for 2016, see you next year, Capcom, with more characters, game modes, stages..ETC.
