It's going to be STAR WARS (it's probably this one, because, EA, the company that owns the rights to STAR WARS video games as of right now, said they are marketing/licensing out the IP to companies, and that A LOT of STAR WARS video games are on the horizon; with mention of them starting E3 2016) or Marvel, calling it now.
Koei teased somehwat recently about a BIG partnership with a large western IP, and that Omega Force would more than likely be working on it. So…yeah. Put money on that.

Na, Gundam it's extremely appropriate. Depending on the franchise, it's canonical for a main mobile suit to go out and slaughter hundreds in a single battle.
Also, the sheer scale of things makes that fun. Its neat to have levels where you're running around against tiny buildings and smooshing tanks.
There are plenty of stormtroopers, bounty hunters and other stuff in the OT, but there's also what was stablished in the clone wars cartoon.

Link going around and singlehandedly slaughtering thousands of monsters is completely normal though. Metroid would also be fine… if it had any characters other than Samus.
It's not about if the gameplay would work or not, Starwars has plenty of characters and it'd be a blast as a Musou game. It just doesn't FEEL like a good fit, the mass scale of enemies Musou games demand just feels wrong for most of the franchise, a couple CLone Wars bits aside.

Berserk DOES have a new anime coming, so the timing is right, and it actually is totally ideal for a Musou game but…. I find it hard to believe. Would be cool though.
They'd maybe have to tone the rosters down a little though. Instead of slaughtering thousands top it out at hundreds... Guts' hundred man fight is still a thing after all.

Tons of armored soldier types, monsters and bosses to choose from. There's just enough characters to make a roster, ala Arslan but.. I dunno. Would have much preferred a more Souls style game with Guts being robust than splitting among the cast in straight up hack and slash. I love Musou games but I just don't know how to feel about this one.

Gives me hope actually. Not in the way that I wanna see sexual violence. But starting with such a sexual trailer possibly means that they actually are gonna have blood and maybe even dismemberment? Cause for the amount of hack and slashing with crazy weapons you do in the warrior games they are pretty tame and I need not only dark visuals in terms of levels, I also need blood and gore to have an actual feeling of impact playing a berserk game.
And don't worry. They would never dare to put any kinda rape into a game. Especially a musou one. Which ultimately makes me think it won't have any blood at all, lol. Just have slightly darker low rez levels. xD
P.S. Would have rather preferred for From Software to finally make a Berserk game, cause they clearly love it, judging by the amount of inspiration their souls games got from it.

I'm just saying when you've done a wildly successful game series that's basically something with the serial numbers filed off, maybe doing it again with the serial numbers intact might not appeal.

Featuring a character like Guts instead of some random avatar with no personality seems like a far bigger appeal.
It wouldn't work.
Guts himself is too strong for the Souls format and he'd need to be unreasonably nerfed to make him suit the difficulty curve of Souls games
Not to mention, actually following a story doesn't follow the overall feel of a Souls game. The mood only works when you're just a dude in a helmet wandering around getting bricked by stuff behind the corner you didn't peek behind.

What is the best story mode so far in a musou game? Haven't played dragon quest heroes yet, but from what I have seen the story mode there looked cool or had at least interesting mechanics.

Koei seems to want to show that they are all grown up... In the worst way possible. "Darkest Musou ever" and all I get that... and I'm okay with including dark parts of the story (it wouldn't be Berserk without it) but that's not why I would buy a musou berserk game. Show me fighting and character selection.
I mean, even the author hasn't really been about that kind of material for a while now. It hasn't been constant grimdark rape nudity death for years.
