One Piece taken off Youtube

It says so in the first post.

Yeah, but do you really think it's 4KIDS? They're not 4KIDS Entertainment Inc.

Yeah, but do you really think it's 4KIDS? They're not 4KIDS Entertainment Inc.
4Kids Productions, Inc. is what they called themselves, either way it's still not the 4kids we know hate.
Its interesting though how many other anime clips/Japanese openings and endings are still up on Youtube. Naruto, Berserk, Yu-Gi-Oh, Law of Ueki.
Random theory, the person behind this hates One Piece enough to try to get anything and everything about it off YouTube, except for the 4kids crap.

Oops I meant 4KIDS Productions.
Probably some anime hater or sore loser.
-
Naruto, Berserk, and Law of Ueki aren't 4Kids products.
Besides, 4Kids should love the subliminal advertisement. Look at the decision as to what NBC chose:

Nope. It's 4Kids, and we all know it.
Unless you have a cease and desist letter that proves my point incorrect.
-
None of us really know what's going on.
It might be 4Kids. It might not. Really, blaming them for everything isn't the way to go.
-
what are you talking about? Wouldn't a Cease and Desist letter actually prove your point?
-
4kids Productions is the division of the company that handles aquiring the shows, so I suppose it's not unreasonable for them to be handling it themselves if they see it. Although as to why not use the blanket cover of the full company, I don't know.
4kids doesn't have the right to pull anything in Spanish, unless they produce a Spanish version for the US, which I don't believe they do.
So 2 conflicting points to the authenticity of this? Yay.
-
Like I said before. Why is only one division of the company handling this when other divisions are involved?
-
Who knows, who knows.
Burn in hell, 4KIDS

You neglected to mention Yu-Gi-Oh, and I'm not referring to Season Zero.
-
yu gi oh is licensed by 4kids, thereby, they still have not hunted it down as of yet.
-

No, I know that, It's just that when I made that last statement, I was talking about to some examples of anime which are still up on YouTube. You mentioned Naruto, Berserk, and Ueki not being 4kids, but also mentioned Yu-Gi-Oh, which is….
Bah, forget about it!
The fact of the matter is that theres still PLENTY of anime clips still on YouTube, 4kids or not. One Piece seems to be the only one targeted here.

That's because aside from a complaint from a member of a corporation memo, those clips are undetected.
It might sound silly that a corporation like 4Kids' isn't aware of something like YouTube, but their analysts are far too busy to do simple internet searches.
-
oh come on people it's 4kids, someone just screwed up when they were typing… I mean do you really think Youtube is gonna remove a bunch of videos unless they're SURE of who sent the cease and desist (SP?)
-

I'd believe that a company would be so feared to be sued that they'd remove illegal material from their hosting servers that shouldn't be there anyway; and that even if it was fake, they'd have a chance to clean up a bit.
-
but are the openings really illegal?
-
Nope. They don't use animation dubbed by 4Kids with the possible exception of the "We Are!" intro, because the rap borrowed clips from that. On top of that, the music isn't licensed.
-
Then 4kids is just full of crap… oh wait we all ready knew that.
Well Im sure it's them, I just know it you know? They would do something just to piss us off.
-
No, I'm pretty sure that when they bought the One Piece license, it means all of One Piece, including the opening and ending animations (the music is a different issue, they can't have gotten licenses for the songs). They simply chose not use them, but it doesn't mean they don't have them licensed over here.
-
oh you know what, you're right… you're totally right, they DO have the rights to that music, They didn't use them so they could get BMI royalties and such. I forgot about that.
-
oh you know what, you're right… you're totally right, they DO have the rights to that music, They didn't use them so they could get BMI royalties and such. I forgot about that.
I think you've misread me. I was talking about the opening and ending animations. The music, they'd have to go through the various recording companies and such in Japan in order to use the music. Even just the BGM to the songs.
-
If 4kids is doing this to youtube….
What is to stop them from going after a certain group of fansubbers and a certain website that has many uncut One Piece AMVs?
That's a frightening prospect, if you think about it.......
-
oh well i thought you meant something else…
Im very certain that when 4kids brought the rights to One Piece they brought the rights to the music too, or else they wouldn't have had the dubbed We Are that they did. So them not using the original music is just dumb.Master O - that was just retarded, what the hell do you think you can just come in here and do that? Don't you think we've all ready talked about that... you think you're the first person to come up with that?... god...
EDIT:.. he was.. uh using huge text and it p... pissed me off... >.> :ninja:
-
I'm pretty sure the only reason (if it is them) they crack down on YouTube is because YouTube is getting very popular with the mainstream.
I don't think they'll waste their time going after the fansub websites themselves.
-
Master O - that was just retarded, what the hell do you think you can just come in here and do that? Don't you think we've all ready talked about that… you think you're the first person to come up with that?... god...
Yeah, you're most likely right about that….
However, you know they're gonna do it eventually.
4kids are big enough assholes to attempt it...
-
well was the huge text nessicary?…
-
I fixed that text, so that is a moot point now…..
-
oh well… then yes it is... uhm anyway, I don't think 4kids will go after KF because I don't think KF is in America.. are they?... does it matter I wonder >.>
but I don't think they will cause they know they'd catch holy hell for it.
-

I always thought that the BGM to the show came with the whole package. And just that openings and endings were something that you had to get through different companies.
oh well i thought you meant something else…
Im very certain that when 4kids brought the rights to One Piece they brought the rights to the music too, or else they wouldn't have had the dubbed We Are that they did.I thought of that a while ago. You know the ANN interview with Al Kahn? When he was asked about why they changed the opener to the rap his response was "Well, we liked it, we thought it was good, and that it would be popular…" No mention of money issues.
What is to stop them from going after a certain group of fansubbers and a certain website that has many uncut One Piece AMVs?
What was stopping them when the dub first starting airing almost 2 years ago?
-
I always thought that the BGM to the show came with the whole package. And just that openings and endings were something that you had to get through different companies.
I said BGM to the songs, like the voiceless tracks. What's with people missreading me? Is this some sort of amazing phenomenon? Does this explain why my name is always misspelt?
-
The BGM was not purchased by 4Kids, to my knowledge. It was done to save them money, Cacusbey.
-

no youre just not making yourself clear. When I hear BGM to the songs.. background music to the songs? What is that?… isn't that background music... yeah sorry but you just aren't being quite clear tonight, Steve.
and I think 4kids does have the right because again, they made that "we are" song with no probs. They just don't want to use it so they can "Westernize it"... I mean wouldn't Toei rather sell the whole package to someone who's going to pay for all of One piece and pay more then? Im pretty sure 4kids has the rights cause they put in the highest bid for it all.
-

Not making myself clear? I said BGM to the song not to the show. Two different words there. All the songs have a background to them, be it a single beat or full orchestration. Vocals = foreground.
Just because they bought and tried to use the background music from "We Are!" with new lyrics, doesn't mean they bought all of it. Toei doesn't hold rights to the music…the recording companies do, or the artists.
-
They dumped "We Are!", Cacusby. They didn't decide to use it and thus are not paying royalties. If they start using it it'll start licensing the music.
-

Then that would support my argument that they don't hold the license to any of the music, UNZONEDPILE. Which if I hadn't made clear in the past, I make clear now. Opening and Ending music. Sheesh, have to go in and make it super clear.
-
I also said BGM to the song
When I hear BGM to the songs.. background music to the songs? What is that?… isn't that background music
BGM = background music
you said BackGround Music to the song, so I assumed.. you know what never mind? When we're talking about the OP soundtrakc I thought you were talking about the background music in the show during the show. and I STILL think 4kids has the music… I remember hearng that they did, I dunno if it was a reliably source though. -

(Yes, I got your point the first zillion times.) -
I didn't! Yay go me!
-
Yea, sadly UNZONEDPILE, we're not having an intimate private conversation, so I need to stress certain things for other readers. Nice masterpiece though. Love the hair.
-
I feel so stupid for not bringing this up sooner.
…
Will someone post the original link to the removed video?
-
My account was perma banned aswell for a few OP amv's…....
neway for people who haven't seen it here is the message
This video has been removed at the request of copyright owner 4Kids Productions, Inc. because its content was used without permission

I recall reading somewhere online that any fan-made media (fan-art, AMV, Fanfiction, etc) is protected, however I don't remember if it's under the 1st Amendment or not. >_<
However, I did find that theoretically, 4kids can't do anything about fansubbers, so long as they don't sell it. Here's the C/P paragraph on Copyright Infringement from Wiki.
"
For the most part, the criminal law is only used for commercial piracy with one exception, and an offence is committed when, knowing or reasonably suspecting that the files are illegal copies, and without the permission of the copyright owner, a person:- makes unauthorised copies e.g. burning music files or films on to CD-Rs or DVD-Rs;
- distributes, sells or hires out unauthorised copies of CDs, VCDs and DVDs;
- on a larger scale, distributes unauthorised copies as a commercial enterprise on the internet;
- possesses unauthorised copies with a view to distributing, selling or hiring these to other people;
- while not dealing commercially, distributes unauthorised copies of software packages, books, music, games, and films on such a scale as to have a measurable impact on the copyright owner's business.
- stealing someone elses artwork and claiming it as yours.
The penalties for these "copyright theft" offences depend on the seriousness of the offences:
- before a magistrates' Court, the penalties for distributing pirated files are a maximum fine of £5,000 ($9,202) and/or six months imprisonment;
- in the Crown Court, the penalties for distributing pirated files are an unlimited fine and/or up to 10 years imprisonment.
Also note s24 Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 which creates a range of offences relating to the distribution of any device, product or component which is primarily designed, produced, or adapted for the purpose of enabling or facilitating the circumvention of effective technological measures. When this is for non-commercial purposes, it requires there to be a measurable effect on the rights holder's business."

The episodes aren't next, they were first.

Funny, none of my stuff was removed. o.o

I'm not back seat modding but I suggest a merger with the previous said topic.

That way we wont have the two going on at the same time most likely talking about the same thing.
-
They are gonig after Amv's too? Damn…..

If AMV's are protected, why was my Sonic one I made (on my first account) taken down? Also, my new AMV's aren't down yet and 4kids hasn't banned any of clips of thier version of One Piece I uploaded (on my second account)
Maybe they are allowing thier version to live and the Japanese version to die. Whatever it is, they are still bastards
