Makes zero sense if those arcs get animated after the Assasination Arc, its….so out of place.

The arcs in gintama have never been done in chronological order anyway. This won't be any different. If not in the main Anime they could always animate them in some separate animated special of some sort, or

Just accept the reality that it won't get animated, hell I think it would be more tragic if the Anime didn't come to some sort of a conclusion. Like the 97%of other Anime that never see an end, or have some bullshit gecko ending that satisfies no one

He has always been my favorite charachter in Gintama and now he is even more! So he only accepts the name of Zura when he can go at full strength. During the whole manga he was restraining himself in order to accomplish his role of general. Only one one word to qualify that: Zurawesomeness.

I used to watch Gintama but stopped and fell off, I'm thinking of starting over I'm thinking of reading the manga this time, has anyone watched and read the series ? and which is better ? I watched it before and its hilarious just curious if the manga still holds the same weight.

I think both are as good as each other. The anime is an exceptional adaption. But as people have been talking about recently it seems the anime has decided not to cover every arc that the manga did. So it's hard to judge atm.

i feel like their budget was enough for like 48 episodes and they wanted to end it on a super serious arc to maybe hype the anime up enough to get more episodes green lit for production.

but they dont see(or dont care) that the serious arc they have chosen should have been made AFTER all the other unanimated arcs before it were animated.

So implicitly Gintoki and Takasugi acknowledged Zura as their general and as the strongest. Now I am frustrated we did not see him fight more in the manga! I would have loved see him vs Housen or a yato!

I used abrevation to not spoil LegendarySSJ4 with the names of these arcs. Assassination is spelled approximately the same way in French by the way (assassinat).

I don't think Sakamoto's fight can top Zura's (because it was pretty grand and Zura is the best, there is just no way around it), but it is shaping to become at the least not any worse, especially with Mutsu having already taken a hit. And I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but I still didn't expect Nobunobu of all people to get character development.

And in half a day, Shogun Assassination arc begins. This ought to be good. And long. The longest animated arc so far, Yoshiwara, had 8 episodes for 19 chapters (and dragged somewhat with that pacing). This arc has 23 chapters in the manga, so there is no way it will be done in December, so the anime will have to continue into the fourth cour. And then we have the yet unconfirmed but already hinted Farewell Shinsengumi arc which tops them all at 27 chapters, and that would push the anime into fifth cour with a few empty slots remaining. Just enough to cover the chapters which haven't been animated yet.

This may be an optimistic estimate but I am willing to go with it. It's not like the ridiculous complaints how it is impossible to insert comedy between the serious arcs carry any weight. It is the Gintama anime, they can interrupt an arc, even a fight midway just to switch to a Yorozuya background just to fuck with their audience, and have a naked Kondo apologize afterwards.

Everything will work out.

I dunno. The issue lies with some of the arcs they left out because they involve characters that in some way or another get changed by these next two arcs. A good example is the Kagura's boyfriend arc which involves the shoguns sister.

Sorachi did it in the manga during the very intense fight of Takasugi VS Gintoki. Remember the magician Gin playing with the impaled Takasugi. So if the gorilla did it in the manga, anime staff will surely put some comedy too. (I am still hoping to see an episode beginning with the usual Ben Johnson discussion for the new year )

Kinda wish Gintama could get a proper English release since the only English dub thing is the retelling movie and it had lazy voice acting and just didn't fit.

I wish Funimation would get English rights sometime soon.

Pretty sure funimation wouldn't bother at all (among the other rare cases where they did release some series subbed only). Even if they did, I'm pretty sure they would go with a sergeant frog or shin Chan approach.

So the anime changed it's opening and ending. The ending is nice but the opening seems a bit lazy. This is all a big sign however that they are gonna continue on and through the next main story arc. Guess they want to last till april? At this pace the assassination arc will probably finish beginning of February which gives two months to do the other arc.

Wow great episode this week. Great animation, ost, fights and timing. All was loyally taken for the manga!
And the ending is one of the best so far. The transition between past and present in the photos shows how much Gintama can have sad and serious stories. Especially when showing all the losses (Obione, Tatsugorou, Mitsuba), that reminds all saddest episodes of this manga. (I even spotted someone drinking behind the 4 joui! They did not forget Kurokono ^^)
I guess they will change the opening at Shinsengumi arc, I hope it will be as great as the ending. I am a big fan of all previous Does opening/ending, that's a shame if they don't make a good animation with such good music.

Don't feel ashamed, I think that there are hundreds of guys that cried watching it. I would have never expected that the anime will make this adaptation of the manga with this level of perfection! Once more anime proved that it can be better than the manga! It even surpassed the epicneess of the fight against Housen or Jirochou!

When I first read this arc I also asked in each page where is Zura! He will miss all the fun! Now at last Sorachi got him out from his stand by! And in such a glorious way! ^^

I don't think the manga will end without a peaceful and funny little arc in edo. We are still waiting for a happy ending for madao.

I don't think that the final battle will be here, without shinsengumi or the girls. Oboro is going down but I see the leader turning tail and going yo earth to conquer or destroy, just to be stopped by the shinsengumi resistance, while Monday Elizabeth brings the heroes back to the final battle.

Farewell Shinsengumi arc started in the anime and in a great way! The visuals of the opening and the ost of the preview are simply epic!

I was out of town over the weekend and went to Hot topic. They now have Gintama shirts now. I got one of the shirts. I'm guessing this means Gintama is getting little bit more popular in the U.S.
