Was kind of wondering how people feel about the current WSJ series as a whole. My thoughts are not up to date(like quite a few series that I've dropped quite a while ago) and I won't mention current new series that I haven't read. But I kind of want to see what's the current vibes around WSJ since it's been quite some time since the big three had any meaning to it.
One Piece: I still enjoy it, I just don't feel like talking/arguing about it and am just happy to absorb whatever. It's my happy dose of fun fantastical whimsy that has just the right amount of drama for me.
Toriko: The concept of turning things to 11 is only amusing to me when the limit is supposed to be 10. But when you turn things to 11 and then to 12 and then to 13 etc… the limit shifts into infinity and the whole things becomes kind of meaningless. There was a time when people were hyping this to be one of the new big boys but I don't share that sentiment. Dropped it around the casino stuff.
Naruto: It ended dammit, I deny the existence of these chapters that show up from week to week :/.
Bleach: ludstaweugfiuawhifodosafdfhisuddgusigfidao.
Shokugeki no Soma: Probably with One Piece the series I enjoy the most. My enthusiasm for it has probably tapered off a bit since it started but I still think it has some of the more enjoyable characters in WSJ. Also I enjoy how it's pretty smart about a lot of things that I don't feel that other newcomers(that have already been cancelled) have considered.
Hero Academia: This one has been an enjoyable surprise. It's just standard shonen fare but with enough twists and fresh takes to make it engaging. I sometimes wonder what I like about it since I should get a lot of "been there, seen that" but I really don't. Still a boy at heart :P I guess.
AssClass: My binge read. I find it so hard to enjoy this series on a week to week basis. You just get this vibe from it that it wants to tell this specific story with this specific scope. And it kind of becomes ok to read whole arcs but reading 1 chapter as a time it always feels lacking. It's like looking at an incomplete picture that's not fully drawn instead of looking at a picture that lacks color or a few details. The former you don't know what the fuck is going on, for the latter you know what you're looking at you just want it to be more realized so you're eager for the next update to it.
In AssClass I only get that feeling after a full arc.
That dancing manga: Charming. Not much to say about it yet.
Nisekoi: Meh, used to like it cause it was a light read to improve my japanese. I wouldn't say it awful just plain boring to me at least. Don't even remember when I dropped it.
World Trigger: Ergh... I slugged through it until the Invasion when I was slowly kind of getting what the charm was and then the Invasion was just boring to me that I dropped it like 6-7 chapters into that arc.
That's it I think.
