He said he brought the head of his father to the CDs, so he must have killed him personally, but I agree with the conquerors haki knocking out the mob. Doflamingo was a pretty dumb kid though, he is the actual reason why they got hunted down. But from what he became later, taking humans into his crew and being a mastermind shows that he sure took his medicine after this events.

I actually like how Doffy's dad is similar to Don Quixote, in that both are naive and selfish old dudes who chased after an idea that was absurd in the eyes of those around them. And just like how Don Quixote had a screwed idea of what being a knight meant, Doffy's dad didn't really know how to go on about being normal people, since they were going to keep living like filthy rich folks that didn't earn their fortune through hard work.

He kinda looks like Don Quixote too.

Here's a thing about parenting: IF, as you say, Homing made the decision because of wanting to raise his children in better enviroment then Mariejois, which would be a reasonable explanation for his actions, and if Homing, as he says, always considered himself human…

Why didn't he left the day Doffy was born?

I did read you Darth. I never said you said he was an asshole. It was more for the general forum that thinks that is what you said.

As to your question, I don't know. Why does it matter? He left when he had had enough. Maybe he lacked the courage to do so, but as he saw his children grow up in that world he realized he needed to leave. Maybe he thought he could raise them better, but saw that their environment was too damaging. Parenting is active. It bends. It's not consistent because people change and develop. We do not have a concrete reason for why Homing left when he did. There are many plausible options, but nothing with evidence.

I noticed Corazon doesn´t even look at Flamingo (not a single panel) when he speaks to him. I guess him killing their father is the reason why he doesn´t talk and look at his brother anymore.

Amazing chapter. It was so intense. The pain felt by the people for centuries of oppression by the CD just made them act like animals! I loved how Oda made us feel the people's suffering. Homing destroyed his family and his kiddies, despite his intentions being good. In my country we usually say that "the hell is full of well-intentioned people". They killed, they slavered, they oppressed and you can just turn the page and start a new life with not paying for your sins.

Some guy stated that he wouldn't complain about a break of 100 chapters of the DoFlamingo family history, rising and pillaging around the 5 seas. I'm completely agreed with him! They're really amazing and I'm loving their relationships. I want to see how Dofla ended killing Rocinante (nice name btw Oda).

But the most chocking thing about this chapter and probably about the second half of Dressrosa (the first half is about Sabo being alive). Trafalgar is a fucking D. What that means? It explains a lot of things btw, like how Law saved Luffy from the war of how he puts so many faith upon him. But there's something else. The "D" have the talent of changing the world's status quo and break paradigms. Since the will of Rouge to save the Roger's bloodline by sacrificing herself keeping a kid into her whom for 20 months and Saul saving a kid like Robin, and Teach provoking a war just by capturing Whitebeard "favorite" kid to make him face the marine full power. Their acts have been changing the world and I honestly think that is what Law is calling "storm".

Please Oda, give us a new clue about the Will of D or at least why should Dofla (or shoulda all the CD?) stay away from the D's.

Well, I didn't think it could get more exciting but it just did. Never expected Law to be a D! I hope this means we will get more clues to the letter's true nature.
And I love how Oda mixes in Doffy's past in this, so it becomes one large story. Every single character in this past is interesting and you can't really point fingers and say "they're evil". I love it!

I hope Oda shows Doflamingo doing something really terrible to Rocinante/Law to justify Law attacking the family years later. As of now, Law is looking like a piece of shit for betraying those guys, so I can't wait for Oda to explain it.

Everything sums up. It's obvious from this that Doffy treats the entire affair as a consequentionalist would: If not for one choice made by Homing, nothing of all those terrible things would've happened.

Now, I'm not saying that it whitens Doffy up. He is understandable, not really justifiable.

Baby 5 help Law D using her DF ability …............. Homing, I am not fully blame him, because we must think like him (son of CD and become "human" on his grow up process). We can assume that he dislike CDs since childhood (..... bit like Sabo), but need long time for him to make a crucial dessicion (didn't like Sabo....... and the right time for him/mentality ready come when DD has become little brat). The problem is he didn't have ability to planning (.....like Luffy), why he should move to Country that not part of WG, instead go to another safe place (maybe Dresrossa or Alabasta? He knew that Dresrossa is his homeland and Alabasta is the country that ruled by descent of King that turn down become CD, right? Or he can ask Marine (Monkey D. ) to help him to chose a good place for them, instead CDs, because he knew CDs cannot be trusted, right?). Well I conclude that he isn't quite educated because he is a CD.

With only a year left in flashbackland Oda needs to get cranking with the Law and Corazon bromance if it's going to reach daisuki levels. I was really surprised to see Buffalo's offhand comment about 2 years passing.

He's also a damn tiny 12 year old, Luffy was reaching normal proportions around that age.

And his DF does have limitations? It's been stated over and over it runs off stamina. Also, Doffy just said that the fruit is one of the most powerful fruits out there. Don't know how that comes off as a shock to you.

Law, Buffalo and Baby 5 don't seem to be BFF in the flashback. But still, Law was quite rude with his old nakamas.

So Oda finally reveals Laws connection to D, it wasn't really a shock. He's always had that D look to him and that "D will cause a storm" line after leaving Amazon Lily had me convinced that Law either had knowledge of the Ds or was one himself. Yet knowledge of the ancients is hard to come by, it wasn't even confirmed how Robin knew of the Ds unless they were a well known topic amongst scholars in Ohara or she read it privately. But Law being a D makes perfect sense if you look at his relationship with Luffy (<– see profile pic). They have a brotherly bond similar to kid Luffy and Ace. There's a clear difference in personality and attitude but they share an almost inevitable connection which grows the longer they remain together. Oda is differentiating the Ds so we get a better understanding of why Luffy is the "chosen one" or whatever. Whitebeard was used as a means to show this as he knew Roger, Blackbeard, Ace & Luffy (briefly) and probably came to the conclusion that the one who'll uncover the true history will have the strongest will depending on their character and view of the world.

I wonder if Law will realise that his purpose may be to help make Luffy Pirate King (since Luffy convinces everyone he meets that he'll be the next PK). So far the trend is that Ds live and die for the cause, whether directly or indirectly, which usually accelerates after their death. Ace protected Luffy and eventually died to save him to further the cause, I wonder what role Law will play in terms of inherited will. He seems a good shout for nakama right now, but he has his own crew and we can't lose Bepo.

I'm glad we're getting more depth to Donflamingo now, I'm liking how realistic Oda made DD's dad's decision to live as an equal. Even though it was the "righteous" decision it ended up with him suffering and pleading for help, which I wouldn't have expected because he seemed very wise and composed, but shit happens. Going from everything to nothing (or vise versa) gives a clearer outlook to life from both sides, I'm interested in hearing the interaction between DD and Luffy.

Your post was very good. Good summary and yes, your profile pic, it is great. You could switch Law with Ace and dont see a difference in mood (the eyes…).

I don't agree, the fac that Law was important to the plot has already been hinted a few times…besides saving Luffy, he seems to know a lot about the D (and that's the connection with this chapter), like already stated in chapter 591!

So, Corazon can talk, and looks like a good guy. Why would you keep away a D from Doflamingo? Does he hates Ds? Do Ds have some secret power he would take advantage from?

And I'm not sure why Corazon plays along in Dofla's crew, it doesn't look like he agrees with what he is doing. Most likely he beats the kids so they run away from Doflamingo's crew.

These people are just attacking another family, who even though are probably not innocent in any sense (no confirmation there, but it is implied that dofla's used to shooting people for not bowing when he walks past them), have no ties to changing the world order. In fact it's worse than that, they are attacking them because they will not upset the celestial dragons by doing so. So it really looks far from revolution, and more like revenge on someone who currently bears them no ill will. I feel it's like the fishman situation of continuing the cicle of violence.

I don't find Homing's naivety surprising, I don't think you can expect a person living as a celestial dragon to have a clear understanding of how the world works. In psichiatry when you assess a patients awareness of his own condición, you speak of two types of awareness (not sure if that's the actual word they use in english): Rational awareness, and emocional awareness. The first ohaveefers to acknowlegding that their condición is not normal (or that they have a disease, if you prefer), and the second one refers to knowing what that condition entails and acting accordingly to it. I believe Homing got to the first one, but actually never fully realized the consequences his actions would have on his family. I don't feel it's that farfetched really.

Altough if Oda makes One Piece Revolution similar to French Revolution, I will learn Japanese just to write what a wonderful author he is and send it to him. Moral ambiguity, interesting plots… exquisite.

He won't of course, but it would have been wonderful if he did.
