What happened to him?
Noob Saibot is trapped by the Earth warrior Nightwolf in a magical tornado that explodes alongside him.His final fate is unknown.
But who knows whether he's dead or alive Scopion suffered a somewhat similar fate in Deadly Alliance but showed up right as rain in Deception.
-
But who knows whether he's dead or alive Scopion suffered a somewhat similar fate in Deadly Alliance but showed up right as rain in Deception.
Well that sucks. He my favorite.
Isn't Noob like Sub-zero brother or cousin? Atleast that's what I was told in one of the MK movies, so shouldn't there be a next generation Noob someone who succeeds the original Noob just like the new Sub-zero.
-
There are two Sub-Zero's: Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. Bi-Han is Kuai Liang's older brother. Bi-Han took the mercenary name of Sub-Zero, and Kuai Liang took the mercenary name of Tundra. Scorpion, out of revenge for killing him in his life, killed Sub-Zero. Kuai Liang, wondering what happened to his brother, took the identity of Sub-Zero to hunt his brother's killer and basically became Sub-Zero for 90% of Mortal Kombat games. Quan Chi, who was one of Bi-Han's greatest enemies, took Bi-Han and made him into Noob Saibot.
So with MK9:
Bi-Han/Noob Saibot - Was thrown into a Soulnado and exploded. The last time that happened to someone, it was Scorpion after the events of Deadly Alliance. Scorpion was freed from his binds to the Netherrealm and was offered the chance to become a warrior of the Elder Gods, which he accepted (until Armageddon, but fuck Armageddon).
Kuai Liang/Sub-Zero/Cyber Sub-Zero - Killed by Sindel. His soul now belongs to Quan Chi and is a part of his army of undead heroes. So the possibilities are:
-New Sub-Zero is either Bi-Han who is back from the dead due to the Soulnado or a completely new Sub-Zero.
-If Kuai Liang is in the next game, it's possible that he'll be the new equivalent of Noob Saibot. Although, we may be dealing with a Cyber Noob Saibot here.I think Noob Saibot has a chance, but he won't be Bi-Han anymore.

We got new info, and some of it concerns Sub-Zero, no less!

http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2014/10/mortal-kombat-x-hands-on-preview/-An image has been revealed showing Quan Chi holding the decapitated head of Moloch has been revealed. Moloch was the sub-boss of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance. Sources have confirmed that Moloch is indeed dead.
New Quotes Between Characters Pre-Fight:
Kano vs Kano:
Kano: “Well, look who we have here?”
Kano: ”One of us is a fake!”
Kano: ”One of us will die!”
-This most likely doesn't have any plot relevance, but it could mean that the game will have either copies from other timezones or the characters meet their future selfs.Kotal Kahn vs Ferra/Torr
Kotal: “Join me!”
Ferra: ”You want enslave our people”
Kotal: ”I wish to restore you!”
-Further evidence of Kotal Kahn being a conquerer, but seems to have far more charisma and attempts at misguiding people. And finally, the biggest news:
Sub-Zero vs Quan Chi
Quan Chi: “I have your brother’s soul!”
Sub-Zero: “Unlucky for you I decided to thaw out!”
-A lot of people are reading into the 'thaw out' bit. People are thinking this Sub-Zero has been frozen for a span of time. It could also very well be a pun, and Bi-Han was actually known to do those from time to time.
-If Quan Chi has the soul of 'new Sub-Zero's brother', it is a very, very, very good chance that new Sub-Zero is Bi-Han.[/hide]
tl;dr version:
[hide]-Moloch is dead at the hands of Quan Chi and (seemingly) confirmed to not be returning. (Confirmed by an image of Quan Chi holding the skull of Moloch and several sources confirmed that he is indeed dead).
-When characters face themselves, their intro quotes seem to acknowledge that they are both the same person, and the maybe one of them is a fake. (Confirmed by a quote between two Kanos).
-Kotal Kahn seems to want to take over 'Korra's people', and Korra doesn't seem to fond of this idea.
-New Sub-Zero seems to want to kill Quan Chi because Quan Chi has the soul of 'New Sub-Zero's' brother. Further confirmation that 'New Sub-Zero' may very well be Bi-Han.[/hide]Too bad about Moloch. I know he wasn't popular, but I liked him.
-
I'm not shedding tears over Moloch
Hopefully Onaga joins him in hell too.

Sooo, Ed Boon came to a gaming event in Brazil and a local website made an interview with him. Nothing really big or with flashy news, but there are some points that I find interesting and worthy sharing:
There will be a new online game mode, said to "probably cause a big impact on players". When asked to explain a bit more, Boon brought the King of the Hill mode and said that they are aiming to expand that idea. He said that the new mode will bring a lot of players together and that they all will participate together; that there will be a huge cause to bring them all to a common objective.
They are aiming for the hardcore gamers, too. The game will have new, deeper mechanics specially aimed for professional players and such.
Approximately half of the total characters from the X game will have connections with characters from the 2011 game.
The interaction with the environment is more related with the character's position and the possibility to evade an attack or to push an enemy away, than it's attacks. Damage is not the main attraction of this feature; it's role is more in a strategical sense. Here's the link, for those who want to check (in Portuguese): http://omelete.uol.com.br/mortal-kombat/games/mortal-kombat-x-metade-dos-lutadores-novos-terao-ligacao-com-os-antigos-diz-criador-da-serie/#.VDaTxPldVIE

Okay, so the first issue of the Mortal Kombat X comic has been released, so by extension, this reveals new info for the story of Mortal Kombat X, as well as some possible character information.
Information Sum Up:
[hide]-Kenshi saved Scorpion from Quan Chi. He is now free from his demonic rage and is now only referred to as Hanzo.-Some (SOME) of the heroes of MK9 have been revived: Kuai Liang (who is no longer a cyborg) and Kung Lao (needs validation, but we know he’s alive in MKX).
-Other dead heroes have not yet been confirmed to be alive or dead.
-Kenshi has a son who is being chased by the Red Dragon.
-Ken and Takeru (son’s name) are cornered by Hsu Hao.
-Hsu Hao dies five panels later as Scorpion rescues them.
-Scorpion takes Takeru (Kenshi’s son) into protection of the NEW Shirai Ryu.
-Kuai Liang is trying to steal an ancient cursed dagger from the Red Dragon.
-Kano gets to the dagger first and cuts Kuai’s face, causing the classic scar that Scorpion made in the original timeline. Kuai is also cursed by the dagger, though we don’t know the curse yet.Other notes:
-Mavado gets a name drop.
-Sonya gets a name drop and confirmation that she and Kenshi are cooperating as allies.
-Daegon gets a name drop and confirmation that he is the leader of the Red Dragon.[/hide]
And for everyone's entertainment, here is Hsu Hao!
[hide]
[/hide]It seems that there was a 'Netherrealm War' between the events of MK9 and the comic. This war is where Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kung Lao were revived. Apparently, more people got revived, but we'll find out eventually.
The Netherrealm War, of course, refers to the events of MK4 and Shinnok's grand scheme, which questions whether or not MKX will handle events of that war and whether Shinnok has plans for the events of 25 years later.

Um what was Scorpion revived from?
-
Um what was Scorpion revived from?
Bi-Han killed Scorpion before the events of Mortal Kombat 1, and Quan Chi (at least in this timeline) offered Scorpion the chance for revenge if he served him as a wraith. Scorpion, for majority of Mortal Kombat games, has basically been an undead ninja of revenge. He had never been freed from this undead life until MK:Deception (where he exploded in a soulnado, but was revived by the Elder Gods and given the chance to be a hero) and now.
Basically, Scorpion, or Hanzo Hasashi, is human. To exemplify this:
He has a face now.

Scorpion as a human and Kenshi has a son!? Now this is getting even MORE interesting! Thanks, insider! :D

Something about Bi-Han and who the Sub-Zero is?
-
Something about Bi-Han and who the Sub-Zero is?
If anything, the reveal that Kuai Liang is alive has made things even more confusing.
Like my notes mention, Kano has given Kuai his famous right-eye scar, but MKX Sub-Zero doesn't have the scar.

Yeah… And what about the Sub in the comic? Scar or not? And we still have Noob...
And of course I want to know how Kuai Luang and Co gave been revived... And even without cyborg shit.
PS
Where is my man Reptile? -
I just realized: If Hanzo is free from Quan Chi's grasp, does that mean he now knows that Quan Chi was the true killer of his family and clan, and not Sub-Zero?
Between MKX's Sub-Zero and Scorpion, I'm starting to wonder whether those two are the Scorpion and Sub-Zero that participate in the Netherrealm War, because Scorpion is still blaming Sub-Zero for the murders in their battle intro.

-
Oh I thought a masked Sub has appeared as well. Thanks
BTW what if The Scorpion in MKX is Takeda?
-
BTW what if The Scorpion in MKX is Takeda?
That… would be extremely interesting. Might cause a few stubborn fans to rage, but I'd be on board for this.
Still, if he's Kenshi's son, I'd imagine he'd possess telekinetic powers like his father. Boon already hinted toward a character who seems to possess telekinetic powers. Could either be elder Kenshi, Ermac, or Takeda.
I'd prefer Takeda be the new Scorpion, or at least have a new Scorpion in general. I love Hanzo to death, but once the man gets his revenge, there hasn't been much story for him left. For him to pass down the spear would be interesting for the series.
-
I hope you will report after issue 2 <3
-
So the next chapter got leaked. From what I've read, there's not much too say. It's all about Takeda and the Shirai Ryu. I'll wait til' everything is released to the copy to mention any news, but I felt like releasing this:
[hide]HANZO VERBALLY WRECKING RAIDEN! <3 (Also, brief Sonya and Johnny cameo.)
[/hide]EDIT: Also, Boon has been dancing around releasing a video since Friday. Apparently, the video will NOT be a character trailer, but a major trailer that is going to reveal a lot of info and it will be hype. There's a lot of leaks and mixed rumors, so to guess would be quite difficult. We shall find out soon enough.
-
Well there is a summary at MKOnline
By Darkk
! The issue starts off with the section that was previewed. Fox and Takeda are facing eachother in a training exercise and Fox easily wins. Immediately after, we come back to them "years later" in the same situation. Fox wins again and Scorpion lectures Takeda on not playing around and using his speed to his advantage. Fox stands up for him, which causes Scorpion to give Fox the task of protecting Takeda from the coming threat. As he accepts this job.. he hears a strange voice in his head, claiming to be "his own thoughts in his own head".
! Scorpion had received an unexpected and unwelcome visitor earlier that day, Raiden. He mentions Scorpion still safeguarding the dagger that Raiden gave to him, it looks like it could be another kamidogu. Raiden is there to warn him of a threat. "The Netherrealm invasion damaged cosmic barriers that protect earth from realms beyond. Before I could repair them, something broke through. A powerful demon from another realm." This being apparently wants to destroy earth's champions (Scorpion, Johnny, and Sonya are included among them.) Raiden mentions there being far fewer of them than there used to be, and Scorpion blames Raiden for it. He leaves to warn the others. "He's a liar and a fool, but when Raiden pays you a visit.. People are going to die.
! Fox is to protect Takeda, and both are to kill this demon before it kills them, should they need to. They are surrounded by an army of assassins, and safe as they can be.
! Fox is awoken by the voice in his mind. "Fulfill the blood code". He is instructed to pick up the dagger(kamidogu?) and mutilate his face. "The flesh is a lie, the blood code is truth". He wakes up Takeda and puts the dagger to his throat. His face is completely peeled off(Meat style). It's revealed that he murdered the rest of the Shirai Ryu, as they all lay around them, dead. He will take Takeda to Hanzo and show him that he is not afraid of death.Still hoping for your summary Insider
-
Well, to sum up that info:
[hide]-Takeda spends years training under the Shirai Ryu.
-He faces off against Fox, who he has rivaled in training for those years. Fox wins. Apparently, Fox has won 99% of the time.
-Scorpion/Hanzo allows Fox to become Takeda's bodyguard.
-Scorpion is visited by Raiden, who gives warning that a demon is approaching.
-Scorpion has been chosen to watch over a mystical dagger. Dagger is a lot like the one used to scar Sub-Zero's eye, but this one is blue.
-Fox is being visited by a strange voice.
-Strange voice convinces him to break into the Shirai Ryu vault, steal the dagger, and start cutting his own face.
-Takeda wakes up to find majority of the Shirai Ryu dead around him, and a faceless Fox holding a knife to Takeda's neck.[/hide]Okay, to point out what is actually important in this issue:
[hide]-
Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage are currently alive.
-
Forest Fox, a character whom many this a future new character because of concept art that had been found, has a slight rivalry with Takeda and has sliced his own face off due to a demonic possession.
- Fox's face has been left red and skeletal. This has led to fan theory that Fox is really Meat (whom Boon has stated is not playable in MKX), possessed by Havik (which wouldn't make much sense, but then again, Havik is the ruler of Chaosrealm), or possessed by Drahmin (yeah no).
-
There is more than one 'cursed' knife.
-
Red: Being held by the Red Dragon. Kuai Liang attempted to steal it. Knife was dragged down Kuai's eye by Kano.
-
Blue: Being held by the Shirai Ryu. Stolen by possessed Fox and used to kill majority of the Shirai Ryu.
-
The current theory is that the knives are the Kamidogu, the ancient weapons/artifacts used to revive Onaga, the ancient dragon god.
-
The biggest problem with this theory is that all six of the artifacts were kept hidden within each of the six realms.
-
Original color scheme artifacts: Earthrealm (Blue/Green), Netherrealm (Red), Chaosrealm (Gold), Outwork (Purple/Red), Orderrealm (Blue), Edenia (Gold/White)
-
If the knife of the Shirai Ryu is indeed the Kamidogu of Earthrealm, then what knife do the Red Dragon have? Possibilities:
- The Red Dragon stole the Kamidogu from the Netherrrealm during the Netherrealm War.
- The Red Dragon, who have had secret bases and plans within Orderrealm, stole the Orderrealm Kamidogu.
- Edenia may or may not still be merged with Outworld, so acquiring the Edenian Kamidogu would prove difficult.
- Doubtful that Outworld or Chaosrealm would easily let the Kamidogu fall into the hands of the Red Dragon.
-
-
-
Of course, this is all just theory.[/hide]
-

-
This stuff is really interesting
Now I ask myself what will happen to Kuai Liang, who has been cut by it as well
And of course who the demon is. Is it Onaga?
-
Scorpion snarking is….........weird.
It's because for the first time since ever, Hanzo is 100% chill. Since forever, Scorpion has just been "REVENGE! I HATE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING!" He never spoke to anyone unless they confronted him. He was always angry and never had anything to do except to exact his revenge or be pissed off.
Now, he's still pissy, but he's calm pissy. I had my issues with MK9's story, but honestly, this is the best direction Scorpion's story has ever gone!
This stuff is really interesting
Now I ask myself what will happen to Kuai Liang, who has been cut by it as well
And of course who the demon is. Is it Onaga?
Actually, I didn't even consider Onaga. Last time Onaga did something like this, he changed himself into a benevolent god/entity and lied about his plans. If this is Onaga, he's taking a pretty violent approach this time around.
And I almost forgot: There are seven Kamidogu. The seventh and final one is Shinnok's amulet (the same one Quan Chi likes to wear around). After the Netherrealm War, who knows how that ended up.
Either way, the Kamidogu has multiple powerful uses, so Onaga isn't the only possibility. But again, this is assuming the knives are the Kamidogu.
-
I still want to see more of teh "One Being"
It was mentioned more than once but we never actually have seen it besides it manipulating people
-
It would seem that a certain princess has joined the roster.
I'm always happy to see the lady in blue.
-
So beautiful, so beautiful wipe tears away. Happy to see her back, and that she isn't a bodybuilder anymore.
Can't wait to get more details about her 3 playstyles and a video of Kung Lao's abilities.
-
Holy shit @ that ip man-style wing chun punches that Kung Lao unleashed at that 0:53 mark! O_O
Anyway, thanks for the trailer man! I love it that Kitana is back!
-
I get the feeling NRS realized it was kind of dumb to have killed off so many people in MK9 and is basically reversing said decision.
-
@S.C.:
I get the feeling NRS realized it was kind of dumb to have killed off so many people in MK9 and is basically reversing said decision.
Not really since they kill off characters in these games regularly, it's just that people rarely stay dead.
So beautiful, so beautiful wipe tears away. Happy to see her back, and that she isn't a bodybuilder anymore.
She traded in the weights and steroids for clear heels and pasties judging by her costume.
-
Kung Lao looks awesome
-
Kung Lao has Laser Hat now?
-
Kung Lao terrifies me. He was scary enough to fight in MK9, but now, he has even more tricks up his sleeves.
@S.C.:
I get the feeling NRS realized it was kind of dumb to have killed off so many people in MK9 and is basically reversing said decision.
We don't know yet. Apparently, there was a war against the Netherrealm after Mortal Kombat 9. Still don't know much about it, but apparently, Raiden and co. won and revived some of the heroes they lost (along with Scorpion, who is human now).
-
death means nothing in mortal kombat

I'm always happy to see the lady in blue.
And still a butterface by the looks of it XD

It does if you don't have overwhelming fan support or in Hsu Hao's case a loving creator:ninja:.

@mario:
death means nothing in mortal kombat
That's true for all fighting games, though. I mean, Street Fighter V has brought back Charlie, who has been dead forever.
Still, Shao Kahn is super dead, right now. Like, more dead than he's ever been. Could he come back? Probably but his soul has been erased.
And still a butterface by the looks of it XD
We don't know that, yet. :P
It does if you don't have overwhelming fan support or in Hsu Hao's case a loving creator:ninja:.
RIP Drahmin and Moloch
Not to mention, there are those of us who lost favorite characters in MK9 and are waiting to see if they've been revived or are still slaves to the Netherrealm.
I still have faith, Kurtis.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Okay, more comic book info! This is pretty big!
[hide]-Fox has taken Takeda to another room. In the room, Hanzo/Scorpion is hanging upside down.
-Fox orders Takeda to kill Hanzo. Takeda refuses.
-Before Fox or Takeda can do anything, Hanzo wakes up from a nightmare of losing his family and the Shirai Ryu. Scorpion awakens.
-Scorpion goes nuts, upset that the Shirai Ryu is dead again, and tries to kill Fox, but Fox survives all his attacks and attacks back. Hanzo can't win.
-Fox is "killed" by Takeda, who spits him in half vertically with a katana.
-Hanzo regains control over his body.
-Hanzo takes Takeda and the two go on a journey to find Raiden and kick his ass for giving them that stupid dagger.HUGE NEWS TIME! GET READY! -Raiden is hanging out with FUJIN and about to cut himself with the red dagger. He refers to the dagger as "The Kamidogu of Order" (THE DAGGERS ARE CONFIRMED TO BE THE KAMIDOGU)
-The Kamidogu Raiden has is the same one Sub-Zero/Kuai Liang had before that Kano cut him with. We don't know the whereabouts of Kuai or Kano.
-Upon cutting himself with the Kamidogu of Order, Raiden has a vision. The vision provides us with tiny panels of various characters.1. Hanzo and Takeda journeying through the snow to find Raiden.
2. FROST punching a blonde woman in the face. (Possibly Sonya, the two didn't like each other before)
3. Kotal Kahn drinking the blood from a heart (edgy). Behind him is the outlined shadow of Ferra and Torr. Also behind him is a ninja. The ninja seems to have a combination of white and brown armor. Current arguments consist of the ninja being either Smoke, Tremor, Reptile, or Chameleon.
4. Mileena standing without her mask in the loving (!!!) arms of REIKO! Reiko is resting his head on Mileena and the image makes them look like a couple.
5. Sub-Zero (unknown as to whether this is Kuai, Bi-Han or a new Sub-Zero) fighting a horde of cyborgs. All of the cyborgs have silver armor, so we can't tell if any of them are Sektor or Cyrax.
6. Kano stabbing the hand of what looks like a Shokan. It is unknown if the Shokan is Goro or not.
7. JAX IS ALIVE AND TRAINING HIS DAUGHTER. Jax's daughter is punching a sandbag that Jax, who has his cyborg arms, is holding. Jax's daughter seems to be almost as muscular as her father.Raiden goes berserk as the dagger forces him to have all these visions as once, as Fujin sighs in the background because he gets dragged into all this shit.[/hide]
TL;DR version:
[hide]-Mileena and Reiko might be banging.
-Jax is alive and has a daughter.
-Frost is an asshole.
-Fujin is wearing his "I really wish I weren't here right now" button.[/hide] -
[hide]Tremor[/hide]
You know I glad these characters have actual names they can go buy cause these codenames man.
[hide]4. Mileena standing without her mask in the loving (!!!) arms of REIKO! Reiko is resting his head on Mileena and the image makes them look like a couple.[/hide]
[hide]This becomes a bit unsettling if you remember Mileena's attachment to Shao Khan and remember the whole debate of Shao Kahn and Reiko being the same person.[/hide]
[hide]
7. JAX IS ALIVE AND TRAINING HIS DAUGHTER. Jax's daughter is punching a sandbag that Jax, who has his cyborg arms, is holding. Jax's daughter seems to be almost as muscular as her father.[/hide]Ohkay now curious as to who was the lucky lady.
[hide]Raiden goes berserk as the dagger forces him to have all these visions as once,[/hide]
Oh boy here we go again.
[hide]-Frost is an asshole.[/hide]
When wasn't she?
-
You know I glad these characters have actual names they can go buy cause these codenames man.
What's funny is that none of them got to choose their own codename. The Netherrealm named Scorpion. The Lin Kuei named Sub-Zero, Tundra (Kuai Liang before he became Sub-Zero), Smoke, and Tremor (ex-Lin Kuei). Shang Tsung named Reptile. Shao Kahn named Ermac. Quan Chi named Noob Saibot.
Meanwhile, Rain, Sektor, and Cyrax so far seem to have that as their ACTUAL NAMES.
[hide]This becomes a bit unsettling if you remember Mileena's attachment to Shao Khan and remember the whole debate of Shao Kahn and Reiko being the same person.[/hide]
Armageddon (as crummy as it was) debunked that idea.
Reiko is actually a military general that served under Shao Kahn. He's former member of the Brotherhood of Shadows (Quan Chi's gang), and he never really liked Shao Kahn. He wanted the Outworld throne for himself, so now that Mileena is next for the throne, he's probably thinking to catch the opportunity.
-

They did and yet that image looks a bit too convenient intentional or otherwise.

He wanted the Outworld throne for himself, so now that Mileena is next for the throne, he's probably thinking to catch the opportunity.
Gee that would make Reiko an even bigger dick in this continuity than Rain, Ermac, or Raiden
-
So, now that he made that brief camo in the comic, I have to ask. Does anyone know why Hsu Hao is so intensely hated? His moves? His character? What? I mean, I'll admit his character design reminds me too much of Jax, but damn. I thought Drahmin was a worse character, and even he's pretty easily fixed.
-

From what I read very few people were fond of his design.
But even the guys at Neatherrealm hate him
Hsu Hao was one of the more unpopular new characters introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance; the creators showed much dislike to him, John Vogel in particular in Hsu Hao's bio kard. Vogel stated that Hsu Hao's death in Jax's Deadly Alliance ending was acceptable because he wanted to get rid of Hsu Hao and had no intentions of bringing him back. A cryptic message revealed by playing the words uttered by an inhabitant of the Chaosrealm backwards somewhat indicate that Hsu Hao won't return (specifically, the message revealed is "Will Hsu Hao return from the dead? Err…..probably NOT"). However, since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon brought back every character, Vogel had no choice but to include Hsu Hao, much to his dismay. Showing just how much Vogel despises the character, Hsu Hao would actually die and become a demon void of any character in his own Armageddon ending
-
If it's the artificial heart they hated, it's rather amusing Kano now has that same thing. I know I wasn't super-impressed with him, though I liked he was a grappler character, but I thought the hate for him was rather overblown. Oh well.
