I'd be so happy if Whimsicott is confirmed Fairy. Don't see it happening, but damn, I'd be so happy. I already love it to death … the idea of it being immune to dragons would mean more love on top of that.

To be fair, it was under a spoiler tag in a spoiler heavy thread.
I mean, for this past week I've seen several spoilers flying around without tags (third evolutions of starters, for example.) So really, if you're in this thread and you open a spoiler tag, you should be ready to accept the consequences. Or just being in this thread right now, actually, since so many leaky comments have gone untagged.

Where and when they show up in the game, presumably. Chanceys have a tendency to be in like, a single obscure patch of grass with a low encounter rate late in the game.

It's not like the anime randomly makes decisions on its own. The games and the merchandising are all tied together, they didn't just go "we want a special charizard" followed by the games going "Okay, lets do this"… it was almost certainly the other way around.
