I picked up Civil War today and was blown away.
I'd side with Cap on this one. As much as I'd like to side with Spidey (who from the looks of the covers will be siding with Iron Man, but I think it's mainly due to Tony's new Spidey suit…), I gotta side with Cap here. He's Captain fucking America. He totally WHORED all those S.H.E.I.L.D. agents. And he understands what tradition means. Plus, it's not that easy for those who've gone their whole lives with a secret identity to just up and reveal themselves.
That's why I think the only reason Spidey's siding with Tony is for payback of the suit. He said it himself, his wife could be an easy target after his identity is revealed - hell, he had to deal with that all his life. Tony's probably going to guilt trip him into this. Hopefully, he'll have a change of heart, which would be a cool way for him to ditch the new Spider-digs.
Tony and all the others are being unreasonable here. They've been unmasked for a long time, so this whole thing wouldn't effect them very much. Hell, the FF pretty much are civil servants for the most part anyway...>_> There's more cons than pros to this whole superhero legislation thing.
I can't wait to see who complies with this whole thing. Not to mention, where the super-villians will play into all of this. If the heroes are fighting separate sides against each other, who's gonna deal with the villains? And what kind of controversey will arise during battles in which members from different sides meet in a fight with said villains? Oh the possibilities...
