Ener is complete and that is an offical photo from OMGcon. @.@
Kaya-chan Cosplay Thread - Water 7 Nami update
-
-
WOW! That came out great!
Let me be the first to say. Well done!
Aww, no strippys on the nose. XD
-
the eyebrows seem a little overdone…. but Very good job! I Applaud(sp?) you on your work!
-
Splendid job, Kaya-chan. I am highly impressed. I bow to you and your cosplaying skills.
@Devilfruitgrower:the eyebrows seem a little overdone.
I disagree. They look just right to me.
-
Yea, the eyebrows seem flawless to me aswell. I bet Rock Lee fans were chasing you around Kaya. XD
-
Thanks so much guys! I don't know if the eyebrows were overdone or not, but thanks for the feedback. ^^ Oh, and Buuhan, I did have stripes on my nose but they're just not noticeable in that picture. ^^ They're there, I promise! I wouldn't forget such an important point of our dear Ener.
-
I thought something looked different about your nose…
-
I admit, I did see a tan like line down by the nostrols but thats it.
-
The nose stripes are much more noticeable in this picture, although I forgot to take off my con badge before this one was made:
Edit: Oh, and I know Ener doesn't wear shoes, but this convention had a no-barefoot policy so I just had to pick some shoes that looked like something he -would- wear… also I forgot to mention that I did win an award with this costume, so that was awesome too. ^^
-
great cosplay Kaya! congrats on winning an award for that, you totally deserve it!
-
wow, awesome cosplay, you deserve that award, I like your stick too
-
Thats awesome Kaya!! I really like your Enel. Can't wait to see your work in the future.
-
Pure awesome. I don't even wanna know how much of a bitch those pants were to make, but they are so pefect. You sure deserved a award. What was it? Best cosplay?
-
Wow! That's almost scary.
-
i envy your costume making skills. and about the eyebrows. those are perfect eyebrows. It's just that you don't have Ener's face. (you have your face) so the eyebrows will look a little different. Though, in the second pic, when your head was turned down, it looked VERY convincing.
-
Thanks again everybody! ^^ I wish I had a new costume project to update this thread with or something, but unfortunately Ener took about all the strength I had for cosplaying for awhile. lol And captain_usopp, you're right about the eyebrows… I wish my face looked less feminine and I very much wish my lips weren't so pouty-looking when it comes to this costume. But I'm not ready to go through plastic surgery for my cosplay just yet! Hopefully when I wear this again at AWA in September, I can make the eyebrows a little bit better.
-
Finally, news from me! It's almost time for AWA, so I've been busily working to assemble a Kaku cosplay. The last pictures I have were from before I finished the pants or the hat, but you can get a basic idea…
I have since hemmed the shirt sleeves, made the pants, found the shoes, and painted GALLEY on the hat… all I have left is the nose, which I cannot for the life of me figure out, and which I might end up having to forego... because it is crazily impossible.
-
Nice job!
And for the nose, only two things come to mind.
Clay which ultimately would probably be too heavy to stay on your face. And two, cardboard shaped into it then painted. Just like he actually did to set up his decoy in Water Seven. XD
-
I really am considering painted cardboard, attached to a Pinocchio (or Usopp!) nose and stuck on with spirit gum.
Forgot to mention, also got my hair cut since those pictures were made. I'd get more recent ones, but AWA is really soon, so I'll have some then.
-
Wow! Those are very good! ^_^ I can't sew to live, but you sure can! That eneru one was so bad-ass!!
-
I must take u on wit my Cp9 kaku,muhah!..see u AWA!(I'm still in production of Galley-La Kaku myself)

Love your icon! That's you, I presume? Dude, I've never seen a Mr. 3 cosplayer in person… wish you were taking that one to AWA! (Mr. 3 is one of my favorites.) But we must get good vs. evil Kaku pictures.
We're having a One Piece photoshoot, if you haven't heard. 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Meet at the balcony over the food court, and we're deciding where to go for pictures from there. Hope you can make it!
-
Well, since you're a fan ,I'll bring it….and I might try and bring the original version...still need to repair it..
-
KAKU!… just... O... first you have this really awesome enel costume and now kaku... bows down
i guess for the nose you can try skin-colored fun foam to make it and elastic string plus some fashion tape (i brought mine at ross for $4!!) for attaching it to your face...
-
Some girls were just walking around my campus in Naruto cosplay. One of them said to me, "Weren't you Ener at OMG!con?" and I was so amazed to be recognized outside of a con setting that I ran back here to tell someone. XD
-
omg your Kaku cosplay looks like its going to be kickass! hope you post more pics ^_^
-
Hey, pirateneko, aren't you also from DeviantArt??
-
Yes she is…use PM next time. Please stop spamming threads with off-topic stuff, it's getting annoying. >.<
Anyway...wow, you are such the cosplay guru, Kaya-chan! I bow to your skills.
-
oh that is awesome Kaya!
-
Hello all! I am officially back from AWA 12, and I come bearing pictures! While I have a ton more than this, I just want to show off a few.
First:
A small group of One Piece cosplayers, including myself as Ener. Also, my boyfriend is the Mr. 2 cosplayer on the end.Second:
Kaku! Two pictures. The first is from before my nose met its demise, and the second is after the nose fell off.
Finally:
My boyfriend gave me permission to post his cosplay as well, since he doesn't have an account here. But he says it's a secret… so you're gonna have to click on this link below to see it.

that is the cutest Galley-La Kaku ever!! <3<3<3
awesome group pic too… i see you ran into Mr.Shuraiya as well XD -
lol Yup, we saw him there! Met up with him on Saturday when he was CP9 Kaku, too.
-
That's one of the best Sogeking outfits I've ever seen.
Is that Sanji on the left bamfgirl45?
-
I don't think so… she doesn't have an account on here.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v505/Kayachan/upload_04.jpgThat's great, he always does one of the best Usopp's I've seen, it's no surprise he makes a great Sogeking too!
-
AH! it's Mr. 2!! that is so awsome!
I request you do a shot of your Enel/Ener? costume from a worms eye view! That would look so awsome. -
Wow, that was the best Sogeking cosplay I've seen.
-
Boyfriend is very grateful for the compliments on his Sogeking. :3
And I'll get a worm's eye shot of my Ener costume if I can ever stand to wear it again. It's awfully painful. For the fun of it, I made an LJ icon with his Sogeking cosplay:
-
i have a question… my friends have a joke and this joke is forcing me to make an enel costume... what did you use to hold out the hula hoop?
and i agree with everybody, your kaku is so cute! and tell your boyfriend that he made an AWESOME sogeking!!
-
The way I held up the hoop was my big secret, but since it really only halfway works, I'll tell you–maybe you can perfect the plan.
This would never work for a male cosplayer, though. I first put on the flesh-colored shirt, then a tight sports bra, then undid the hula hoop at its weak spot (where it was put together) and laced it through the shoulders of the shirt and the back of the sports bra. Then, I have to get someone to hold it there while I TIGHTLY and PAINFULLY wrap my chest with two ace bandages, to the point that I feel like I'm wearing a corset. This also helps get the flat guy-chest appearance too.
Like I said, it wouldn't work for a male cosplayer, and I'm sure there are less painful ways to do it, too. Good luck! :D
-
I'm not finished with the shoes yet, but here's my most recent cosplay attempt–Water 7 tie costume Nami. I've been told the shirt's too baggy, but I think I just don't have big enough... assets... to pull off Nami well. XP
Oh, but I am SO proud of this wig. Shiny, awesome Nami-ness.
-
that wig is full of awsomeness. About the shirt, you any good at sewing? maybe you can pull the shirt in at the back a bit. that might help give the illusion of assets. ;)
-
Hm, maybe I could do something like that. I'm sort of doing a trial-and-error sewing attempt right now, so maybe I can learn to take up the shirt a bit. Thanks for the suggestion. :3
-
Or you could always stuff yourself a bit. XD
But I know how you feel about assets. Darn you Oda and your drawing of women with big perky assets!
-
Congrads, Kaya-chan. You've managed to take one of my least favorite outfits in One Piece and make me like it.
-
Just got back from MTAC, with pictures of my Water 7 tie Nami costume, and my friend's last-minute Robin. We had a great time, and two people knew who I was. ^^;; We found a graveyard near the hotel, and I really wish I'd been Thriller Bark Nami instead.
That last one was for Local. My friend refused to do any other remotely Robin/Nami poses with me. oh well. XD
EDIT: I did end up doing some bra-stuffing to pull of Nami's figure a bit better. So I seriously want to know… how do they look? >> Realistic, or obviously fake?
-
Hahaha I am sure that Mark will love that pose all the same. XD
Hmm the bra stuffaging looks fine. But I dunno…it might actually look different in person.
But you make a lovely Nami!
-
Hehe, thanks omnichild! I'm seriously thinking about working on a Thriller Bark Nami sometime soon… maybe for Otakon, and mostly because I really love my wig. ^^;
-
I know what you mean by wig love! I loved my Nami wig to death (literally! I have to replace it now!) Good luck on the thiller bark cosplay! I haven't seen that outfit yet!
-
I know it's a little late but the thing I did to make Kaku's nose was to find a cardboard eggbox. There's these bits of cardboard that are used to keep the eggs safe that are shaped exactly like Kaku's nose. Paint it the right colour and it does the job perfectly. I needed the nose as part of my costume for a school charity event on May 1st. Should be interesting to see if anyone notices who I am!
