Hello One Piece fans,
I´m new here and I really need your help, because I´m completely lost in this game.
I dont understand how this coins system works.
1.) How I get coins? I open some treasure boxes. Is it the only way?
2.) Most important how can I use the coins, because when I finish level there is option to keep the coins or convert for some "exp."? What this means? When is better to keep and when convert?
3.) What is the difference between Main Pocket and Side Pocket? Which coins belong to this pockets?
4.) What this "star" icon stands for?
5.) When I see the coins they are in some categories: Attack, Defense, Basic, Life, Most, Side Pocket Effect. Every coin has mark of its own type, but I see most of my coins in every of this categories, so are they for use in every way or only for one specific way? Can I use a coin only one time?
6.) I have read you can use 3 coins for one specific attack. Can you explain to me please?
7.) What you need to do to get rank A after you complete a level?
8.) Can you bring more new items when you play the same level again?
9.) How can you get new (not DLC) costumes?I´m sorry for so many questions, but I really need your help with this.
Many thanks guys -
I'm getting the game this week and i would like to have some people to play co-op with. My PSN is DevilGlitch, feel free to add me
-
I wouldn't mind playing either. My PSN is MysticSandwich.

Many thanks guysI'm pretty sure there's a Help Menu in the game but I feeling generous today.
1. You get coins by completing levels basically. Beating boss characters in each stage always gives you a coin per boss. And the rest of them will come by the rank/points you get everytime you play a stage.
2. You only get one coin of each type, you can use them on different characters all the time though. (ex: You can put your Whitebeard coin in Luffy, Zoro, Nami, etc but you can't put 2 Whitebeard coins in Luffy).
So anytime you get a coin you already had you can choose which coin you want to keep, the other one will be converted to experience points. As for which one to choose, it's normally the one with more stars or with the type you want.
ex: You already had a Luffy bronze coin with one star but now you've gained a Luffy silver coin with 2 stars. The silver one is better so you pick that one to keep it and the bronze coin will be converted to character experience points.3. Any coin can go into any pocket. The mechanic here is simple: the main pocket is for choosing the type of bonus you want and the side pockets are to give more power.
ex: In your main pocket you put a Zoro coin which has the attack attribute and 2 stars. So now you get a small two stars bonus on your attack. In your side pockets you put a Sanji coin with 2 stars and a Franky coin with 1 star. So now those stars add up and you get 5 stars of bonus on your attack. And it doesn't matter if the Sanji and Franky coins have the defense or stamina attribute, the attribute is only counted in the Main Pocket and the Side Pockets only count the stars.4. >_> C'mon now that one is pretty obvious, more stars = stonger/better coin.
5. I'm not sure of what your question here is so I'll just try to explain a bit more of the coin system.
When you're in the pocket's menu you see some colorful bars below the character's portrait, right? Those indicate how strong your Attack, Defense and Life/Stamina are, they get bigger every time you raise your character's level but you can also use the coins to help you get better stats using the Main and Side Pockets, as I explained above.
The Side Pocket effects functions depending on each coins you choose. ex: Your Usopp coin with 2 stars has a side pocket effect of "Friend - Gets one star more when next to ally" (or something along those lines) so if you put the Usupp coin next to a Luffy, Zoro, Nami, or anyother StrawHat coin, you will get one star more in the bonus because they are friends, meaning your Usopp coin is now worth 3 stars. If you put the Usopp coin next to a Akainu coin nothing special will happen and you'll just get a 2 star bonus.6. Some coin combinations can give you special bonus. If you put 3 StrawHats coins in a pocket (ex: a Luffy coin in the main and a Zoro and Sanji coin in the side pockets) instead of getting a bonus based on the stars and attributes you'll create a special combo called "Straw Hats Pirates" and that will give you 2 stars in every attribute. There's about a hundred or so of these combos in the game and each one does a different bonus. If you join a Zoro, Miahwk, Hatchan, or Brook in the same pocket you'll get the combo "Swordsmen" which will give you no stats bonus but will increase the experience you earn.
These combos relate to something that has happen in the series, character relations or even characters personalities so go ahead and try every combination you think it may work. There are also some characters- Nami and Usopp- that "gain" new attacks with certain coins equipped. Try putting a Perfect Clima Tact coin on Nami or a Kabuto Slingshot coin in Usopp and see how their new animations look.
7. The ranks depend on how well you played the level. Number of enemies killed, time it took you to complete the level, damage suffered, etc. Just play the game until you get better.
8. Another question where I'm not sure what you meant but there are no restrictions on playing the stages exept for the Main Log which forces you to play with Luffy. In Another Log you can play any stage with any character. And your characters can be of any experience level and use any coins or coin combos you want.
9. Luffy gets pallete swaps and his New World costume (with this costume his Riffle attack changes into Elephant Gun) by completing the Main Log mode. Zoro and Sanji also get their New World costumes by comleting their respective Logs in Another Log. All the other costumes are DLC.
But you can press the Select Button on your controller to do a "taunt move" that usually changes a bit of their appearence. ex: if you do it with Luffy you can make him take his hat off or put it back on.I hope that helped.

Got this game with the DLC last week and I'm loving it, beat the main campaign and working on the after logs and challenges now. Pretttttyyy fun.

Hey guys, in need of a couple people to get my last two friend coins so if you could add me on PSN my name is AntviWins.
Edit: Got my Platinum now. Thanks a million to the people who helped!
-
I'll be on later this evening if anyone wants to get some of those coins! Captain_Zek is the name!
-
I have played the game every weekend and I already beat every another log with the exception of Jinbei and Whitebeard and in the main log Im at sabaody and I already got tired of tha stage, I have beaten it 8 times now….
-
Be prepared to beat it more since it's the best level for getting gold coins and for leveling up characters!!!
-

Maybe but I hate Kizaaru and his logianess, make it hard to hit him
-
It suuuuuurrreee does!
-
Yosh! Finally got platinum.
Farming for the rare coins is irritating, because it's so random. >.<All I needed was Franky's new mark, so I just kept playing as him for a couple of hours. Looks like Lady Luck decided to smile upon me today ( or maybe it's because today just happens to be Franky's birthday…..weird).
-
Hahaha Its really fustrating that I only have three coins left to collect. Its been like this for two weeks or so -_- I am not lucky at all.
-
Yeah, there's about a dozen or so coins I still need…haven't gotten a single new one today...
-
Yo, my PSN account is CHP824 if anyone wants to co-op sometime.
-
Same here. Had a great play around with enel16 the other day.
I'm going to add all of you from the past 2 pages or so.
Please add me ID: Fenberry24
Edit: And here's some footage as well from Enel16 and myself
-
Ha! Finally got the Sogeking and Wado coins!! Now all I need is some Shanks', Marco's, and Roger's marks, the D, and the 7 New Strawhat marks!! 11 coins to go!!
-

Congrats! When it gets down to the single digits it is a huge pain. The Strawhat Marks take a while to get, and I am still missing two of them. Urgh Franky and Usopp :getlost:
-
I've got Franky and Chopper :P. Has anyone had any more luck on a specific stage? I've finally got all my characters at at least level 20, and I just go to Zoro's last level with whoever. I've had alright success with that.
-
I still havent beat the game but I already beat Sabaody so at least Im close to
-
And I just got the New World Luffy Mark. 10 to go!
-
I already got all trophys except the skills and kills ones
PD: I REALLY HATE KIZARU !! {$,#$,#>>|^${ -
I finally got Franky's New World Mark! Only took me like a week or two. I just have to get Usopp's New World Mark and Post-Time Skip Sanji's coin. I feel like this might be impossible hahaha
-
Im still missing doflamingo, roger, shanks, galley-la, brook, new ussop, new nami, new chopper marks, timeskip zoro and sanji and 2 online coins
-
I've been playing for two months. yes, TWO months and I just got moriah's coin yesterday and now only 6 coins remaining.
-
So how exactly does the coon system work? Do you have like a certain percent chance to get new coins? Or is it just completely random?
-

Um, wrong thread? This game is out already, no new characters to talk about.

Oh sorry i was talking about Pirate Warrior 2 xDDDDDDDDDDD
-
I picked up this game a while back, its pretty mindless fun, but the main log is kinda boring with the grab barrels and throw and spinning platform stuff. They could of left that all out of the game and it would be a bit more enjoyable. I haven't beaten it yet just not that motivated, but looking forward to the new game as it seems it will be better with more characters.

Why is Magellan not playable in the 2nd game?

Why is Magellan not playable in the 2nd game?
This question probably belongs on the thread for the other game since this thread is about the first game. To answer your question it is probably because he is not very popular among the people in Japan. Most of the characters were picked out of popularity, like Marco or Perona. Both of these characters are very popular in Japan hence why they were included.Doesn't mean he won't be playable in the third game, assuming there will be a third game.
In other news I finally got Usopp's New World Jolly Roger coin and now I just need Sanji's new world coin. Just because it is the last one I need I know I will not get it for a while hahaha I need it to do the island of restarting skill as well and then my skills and coins will be 100%

Do you live in Japan? I'm saying he has a moveset in the first game would be easier to transition to a sequel than making a new character from scratch with limited content. That's a poor excuse for a character to not be in the game. I'm sure it's very difficult to make a character playable with a moveset already.

I would love having this discussion with you but we should probably move it to the thread about the second PW game. Since this discussion is about the second game and not the new one.
-
Only 3 coins left until the coin grinding is over, Im still mising, New world zoro, nami new mark and chopper new mark
-
Anyone who wants the friend coin, add me, desijut. I'm currently platting infamous, but should be done in a few days, the next game on my list is one piece, i only need to get all of the coins and 100,000 kills, so it's basically just all the coins left.
