Hopping on the bandwagon - no matter how late - guarantees a spot at seeming to be cool.
This episode had faults, but I really don't know where this menagerie of anally-retentive critics were when the real bad episode were playing out a few weeks back.

which episode is that? Its hard to imagine anything worse than the canon destroying drivel that was this episode.

I just couldn't find the proper words to describe this episode
Wow, seriously. I was busy this week and didn't get on here until now, but you people are even ripping on THIS episode? I think I'm done posting for a while. It kind of disgusts me when a perfectly good episode with only a few animation gripes I will complain about is being treated like the plague.

I've been mostly fine with the mediocre animation, slow pacing and occasional misinterpretation of the source in previous episodes… This episode, however... Half of it is a battle that literally conveys the exact opposite point of what the manga was trying to get across (Yeah, I'm really getting a great idea of how much stronger Luffy has gotten in the past two years in this fight where he's getting completely and utterly pwned by some idiot on drugs whom he was owning himself earlier when they were fighting in said drugged idiot's natural environment), and the rest of it was a series of finishing-moves that, with only two exceptions, looked awful. So tell me, what was the "perfectly good" aspects of this episode again? Because aside from Brook and Franky's attacks, and Chopper's whole "I-I'm totally not happy or anything!"-dance, I honestly can't think of a single thing this episode got right.
Most of that was hammed up for drama. You guys are just overeacting, because I never once got the sense that Luffy was in any REAL danger up against Hody. In fact, it just came across as Hody having pretty high defense and being able to TAKE hits. Luffy got slammed around one time by that shark pack and it was hammed up as I said just to try to add drama and whatnot. Even so, Luffy simply fell and crushed Hody with little effort. The bite was present in the manga as well, and even if the anime played it up, considering what ends up happening next episode, I see no issue with them calling attention to a wound of that caliber. But other than taking a few more powerful hits, slapping Luffy around once or twice without dealing any real damage other than that bite, and displaying impressive speed, what else did Hody do that made him appear stronger than Luffy whatsoever? Fukaboshi even said that he was basically fighting on willpower and drugs far beyond his own capabilities, so that alone implies Hody Jones is nothing bit shit before Luffy and his friends.
The only finishing moves I had issues with were Usopp's, Jinbei's, and Sanji's. Zoro's was drawn well and animtated badly, so it gets a half score. All the others were fine for me.
The "perfectly" in my "perfectly good" wasn't meant to say the episode was perfect, but compared to some of the legiitate issues I see people complaining about, to say it was the worst episode is just utter bullshit.
