Gee this might as well be the Retsupurae thread at this point. This is a Wrongpurae of King's Quest V:
I'm so glad of this. King's Quest V is the only one of the King's Quest series I've played. Screw. These. Puzzles.

This is a pretty good thread. Didn't know Yahtzee did LP's, definitely subbed his channel for now. Nice to see that other people appreciate Retsupurae's stuff too, although I don't think the actual retsupuraeing is the best feature of their channel. I tend to like the long plays and flashes a lot more, and the three Metroid Primes, Metroid Fusion and the two Dead to Rights Slowbeef and Diabetus did on LP Archive are even better. Especially the whole Metroid Prime trilogy is simply glorious.
Anyway, as great as those guys are together, my favorite LP'er of all time by far is NintendoCapriSun. His commentary's so fucking amazing and laid back and hilarious, he's on a whole different level compared to anybody else on YouTube. While not as awesome, another really enjoyable guy is pcull44444. He's pretty much mental and really loud and he sings and does stupid impressions all the time, but somehow he's the only person who can pull off that crap. Obviously not everybody's cup of tea though.
JoshJepson's newer stuff is really good too and amazingly well put together. His Donkey Kong Country Returns co-op with SuperJeenius was so good it made me buy the game and the Super Mario Sunshine race with AttackingTucans was pretty fun too. After those he's been doing some puzzle games blind, and especially Limbo was a really good one. Another good LP'er is ProtonJon but Idk if I can really recommend him since he rarely puts out new videos anymore. He's (kind of) doing a really nice Superman 64 playthough that might be worth watching, and he did do a 6-part Battletoads race with 3 other people some months ago.
I also sometimes watch some people I don't even like that much. Chuggaaconroy puts a crapload of effort into his videos but they're really more like narrated walkthoughs instead of LP's. Very informative but not exactly funny, plus he's way too loud which is super annoying. Then there's HCBailly who's been playing identical JRPG's for like 5 years now. At first I thought he was pretty funny, but then I realised his entire commentary consists of ten or so catch phrases he keeps repeating over and over and over again, and every single game he plays is exactly the same. I really like his StarTropics LP though, t'was a nice change. Both guys are probably worth checking out if you don't actually care about funny commentary and just want to watch people who know everything about the games they play.
All in all I really enjoy LP's, sometimes a lot more than I enjoy actually playing games myself. For a couple of years now, watching people play video games has pretty much replaced any TV shows as a way to kill my spare time. I occasionally try to actively look for new good LP'ers too but it's not usually worth it. I did sub to tehjonbro the other day, though. He's not that amazing but looks like he's got some potential to get a lot better.
Here's a fun little vid about pcull:
Yahtzee and his monkey friend Gabriel LP Hugo 2. Or as I like to call it, how to get your ass sued by Doctor Who.
Normally I don't like horror game LP's since it'll inevitably come down to the player yelling in fear but this wasn't bad.
Egoraptor and JonTron team up for a new series called GameGrumps, which is basically just them doing Let's Plays.

Supposedly they'll update daily. Thus far, they've done the Spring Breeze Adventure portion of Kirby Super Star, and have started on Megaman 7 and Link to the Past.

This is all riveting and whatnot but what about regular JonTron ? I need me some manic yelling while the camera twitches spasticaly !

Megaman 7 is awful.
With that said I'll actually watch the video now.
Megaman 7 is awful.
If Megaman 7 is awful, then what does that make Megaman 8?
I'll admit that Megaman 7 is a bit weird and certainly not as good as its predecessors, but I liked it alright.

I personally liked Megaman 8 a lot. The dub was hilariously bad (Dr. Light = Anime Elmer Fudd) and the snowboarding sections were hair pulling irritating but it was a pretty good game. Not as good as the NES style Megaman games but still light years ahead of 7 imo.
This is my favorite new LPer. He's even suffered though a couple of visual novels.
His voice and commentary feels so natural, and I kind of wonder how he never runs out of things to say.
Egoraptor and JonTron have started a playthrough of Pokemon Emerald and god it's hilarious. Wait til you see their name for the player.
Egoraptor and Jontron are just too damn hilarious. I look forwards to their videos every day now, no matter what they play.
Not a video but something oh so true.
Bump bump bump
After a long hiatus of his actual Let's Play videos, Supergreatfriend returns with an obscure 90's FMV title for the PC called [MODE]
