If you want to take my goofy little remarks about an anime tournament to heart, take them as personal attacks, that's your choice.
Maes Hughes Vs. Tao pai pai

ok lets just drop the arguement…im just gonna say carter im not a mind reader and i can't hear your voice. you need to be careful what you say on the internet because theres no indication such as someones tone to tell whether you were kidding or not so people could take it seriously.
p.s when your kidding adding some form of smile always works to show your not being serious

As far as I'm concerned a vote for other guy is a vote against FMA. nuff said < 3
-
@Cap'n:
When one of the biggest badasses in manga history loses to "that guy that died," then something's wrong.
I think a more critical error was deciding several of the earlier matches by a coin toss rather than simply waiting for an additional vote to decide the match. If at all possible, the people officiating a tournament should not play a direct role in deciding a match.
-
actually it was only two…and seeing as how it was a tie i highly doubt the other person would have made it any further but if you really believe they could have done something then i'll figure something out.
-
I Love Hughes! He's so funny. FMA episode is my favorite episode, and he is one of the reasons. I didn't much care for Tao, in DB. I don't care how strong a charicter is. I look at their personality and judge if I like a charicter or not. Now, if this was Hughes vs Ninja Mirisaki (sp) then I would have a hard time voting. I think that was the hardest I'd ever laughed at DB.
PS:who was it giving background on Tao? The name is spelled Tien, not Ten. Just trying to be helpful. feel free to critisize my spelling.

He was using his Japanese name, which is Tenshinhan, shortened to Ten.

I thought that was what Tein was short for. Guess I was wrong.

I never want to see Hughe die agian….
that was too sad in the anime... one of the few time I actually got choked up.Hughes for the win!!!!
well this is a popularity contest so it doesn't matter who would really win.
and actually i finished FMA before i even knew one piece existed. and i'm not sure why hughes gets special treatment…just something about him.....
and i know hes fictional but that doesn't mean i have to despise them and not care if they die. when things happen you kind of forget its fiction, if ever thought oh its just fiction who cares then no one would cry during shows/movies and alot of people probably would have no feeling when watching the movie at all other then the funny parts.
ok heres an example. have you ever been watching a movie and this big epic part comes up and your nervous that things might go wrong or someone you like might die, and your hanging on the edge of your seat not blinking?
The thing is, Hughes seem to be untouchable as a character you can kill off. He had a daughter, a loving wife, a father figure to Ed and Al, and like best firend with everyone. He a really lovable character. It was a real Shocker when he die. His daughter crying out "Why are they burying daddy, he can't go to work if they bury him" gets you work up too. Even before his death, Hughes was like my favorite character.

Enough with the drama. This is like "Patamon VS Dio Brando" all over again.
With Edward Elric's recent defeat by Rock Lee, Maes Hughes now represents FMA alone. GO HUGHES!!!!!!!!
-
It might be me, but when I say "Fullmetal Alchemist" I don't think of Hughes.
I think more on the line of….......Ed.

Ed lost to Rock Lee earlier in this round. Ed is out of the tournament. However, Hughes won his match against Tao. Hughes survived this round. Hughes will be in Round 4, Ed won't. Therefore, Hughes is now representing FMA in the remainder of this tournament.
Do you understand? Or do you want to start more trouble?
-
I don't think he was trying to cause trouble. I think he was just stating who comes to his mind when he thinks of FMA.
-
wow. im having a complete blank….ill write the ending when i get a breakthrough. then right after ill post vash vs. kakashi

ok… still pretty tough but ill do the best i can.
Tao threw the first knife back at hughes. hughes bent back to avoid it. once the knife passed over tao was know in his face. tao delivered a blow hughes face crushing his glasses. tao caught hughes with his foot and proceeded to whirl him around. while hughes was spinning he pulled out a kinfe and stabbed tao's leg. almost as a reflex tao flung him across the ring into the pillar.
hughes hit it with such force the pillar cracked and left him panting on the ground. tao appeared infront of hughes and before he could react tao had kicked him up to the crack and began punching. the pillar eventually broke and hughes went through it. the top part almost fell on tao but he crushed it with little effort sending a shower of rocks all over the ring.
hughes now struggled to get up. tao dissappeared but this time didn't reappear in front of hughes. he was behind him. when hughes whirled around tao grabbed him by the neck and began lifting him and saying ''hm, this fight is just as pathetic the last. i was hoping you would be more of a challenge then a duck but your almost less. i'll just-''
before he could finish the sentence hughes kicked up a rather large rock, caught it, and bashed tao in the side of the head with it. this caused tao to stumble a bit and drop hughes.tao felt the area where the rock had hit. blood now dripped from the side of taos head and it was beginning to get a little harder for him to see. although hughes was having much more trouble seeing without his glasses. but hughes remembered howard and his daughters reaction. he charged tao and tao tried to hit hughes but he slid under his legs and tossed a knife straight up. tao turned and hughes was lying on his stomach. tao smirked ''looks like your sight is worse then i thought, you could have killed me but you completely missed from so close''
hughes stood up also smirking with both hands behind his back ''no, i didn't miss''
he moved one hand out from behind his back. he held something, it was taos whole braid!. he threw it at taos face ''i believe that belongs to you''.
tao was infuriated. not because of the braid but because of the way his opponent was treating him. tao disappeared and and reappeared behind hughes. but this time he forget hughes' other hand. a split second before he moved he saw hughes flick his wrist but assumed it was nothing. tao almost kicked hughes in the back of the head but a knife fell so tao had to kick that to the side. big mistake. hughes grabbed his leg and went to stab him but tao moved his head to the side and flung hughes over his shoulder with incredible speed he was a blur to the audience. all they saw the motion of tao's leg and the dust from the collision. when everyone pivoted they're heads back to where tao was they saw he wasn't there and assumed he went into the dust to finish hughes. but they were wrong.(slow motion replay)
tao flung hughes over his shoulder. but as he passed taos' head he stuck a knife out and impaled taos' face. needless to say as a result of this tao flew with hughes
(replay over)
when the dust cleared hughes was crouched and panting against the wall. tao lay half over the wall with a knife in his face. the audience members sitting there couldn't resist poking tao. really when do you get the chance to poke tao pai pai. but it was obvious to everyone this fight was done and so was tao pai pai.
VICTOR: MAES HUGHES
well on to vash and kakashi

Wow.
@One-eyed:Exactly. Hell, these are tournaments? Like I knew that… <_-
I think we should include the words "(Tournament Match)" in the title of these match threads from now on.
-
i guess so…but its a little late for kakashi and vash.
what you wowing about?
-
Wow, it looks like being a badass doesn't mean you should win a match. Who'da thunk that?
