im having a hard time getting costumes in the game. do you have to get all of the characters first or can you get differnt costumes for the characters you have unlocked? i've tried putting in some codes at the beginning but none of them ever work for me. can someone help me out?
Are you getting the US version of One Piece Grande Battle?
-
-
Try completing the 5 Straw Hats' training (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Usopp) and see if you unlock the sport costumes. If not, then you'll havat unlock all of the hidden characters first. Hope this helps.
-
for the traing do you just do all of their moves? and btw thanks for the info

@Sanji's:
^ And you what else? The Story Mode needs to let you pick what you want ur character to wear during the fight, so there could be more events. It sucks when you gotta go with what the character originally wears, for example I wanted to use Sanji's soccer outfit in Story Mode. >____>; They also shoulda added in their Davy Back Fight and Water 7 outfits! I would've loved that! And also, there should be a 3-4 player option in case you invite friends over to play, which I occassionally do.
Me and my friends are always talking about how there should be a four player option. The game looks like it could suport it, it would fit the figthting style.
I also wanted to see more costumes for the characters.
-
You know what else sucks? They put it Miss Goldenweek and call her Miss April Fools day (as a support character, that is) and they cut her out of the dub version and expect us to not notice that…
-
She's also very, VERY overpowered. She hit me with one of her shitty colour traps and it took off a chunk of my health, plus I was confused, meaning she could keep hitting!

I wonder what the traps do, because there is lots of them… I think she's my favorite support... XD
-
all u have to do is get out of the way. One of my favorite supports is the dog of mr.4s.
-
I like Chuu best as a support. Reasonably powerful, but also accurate. The "jump and splat" supports (Cabaji, Zeff, Kuroobi) tend to miss a lot because they can't keep up with a moving target)
Also nice are the "different" behaving supports; nobody else works like Jango or Mr. 4 as far as I can see.
One thing which bothered me: they seemed very stingy on the polygons for the players and supports.

Those characters are very useful if you're playing the Donut Race though, since the attackers don't really move.
-
My favorite support character is Ghin. He just whips out his weapons, runs straight over to the enemy so you and him can gang rape them.

duz any1 know how to unlock chopper, shanks & mihawk? i just got the PS2 game and i can only unlock robin, a.k.a. miss sunday… T.T
-
Beat hard mode with Luffy to get chopper.
Beat the hard mode with ten people to get very hard mode.
Beat very hard mode with Luffy to get Shanks.
Beat very hard mode with Zoro to get Mihawk (you must beat Mihawk with Zoro's ultimate attack to get him).
-
You must also get hit with his special attack first for Mihawk. X_x
-
And I heard you have to defeat shanks with a secret attack. It worked for me.
And who do you think is the strongest character?
I went to some other One Piece forum, and they said Nami was the strongest. I couldn't believe that, because she is a little weak, and Sir Crocodile is certainly the strongest, even if he does seem pretty cheap because he has that poison hook, but he's still strong without it. -

thats the japanese game. They changed it so u have to hit him with your special only. Im a little bit mad

_> You should be happy… It took me seven tries, losing all five of my continues on my first run though, and another on my second to get him to use it. (I got him to smash a Eternal Pose, and then waited... in front of him, dodging every attack... and suiciding on the last second... T_T)
And US: Crocodile is the cheapest. XD In JP, Aokiji, IMO.

But it's been a while. I probably used one to kill him for good measure.
In terms of strength, I think that Mihawk is in the first tier, followed by Enel, Shanks, Ao Kiji, Crocodile, and Buggy. Ao kiji would be higher if he wasn't so slow. Buggy is the best out of the "starting" characters, in my opinion. But he's my favorite so I'm a bit biased.
-
So… in the US game, you don't have to make Mihawk attack you? Well... this means I'm gonna unlock him a little after the new year starts! =D
-
I'm a little behind, and I haven't read my online manga recently, but who the crap is Ao Kiji? and can you post a picture of him? I know who Enel is though.
-

…o.o Ao Kiji's been around for a looooong time. He's the guy with the freezing devil fruit (don't remember the exact name) who confronted the straw-hats on Long Ring Long Land. I would think Ao Kiji is rather memorable, and I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't read that far.

I got Croc! WOO! You know, I don't mind Bon Clay's voice TOO much, it's not too annoying, but I still wish he would sound better. Croc, on the other hand, I liked very well. His voice may not be as deep as I pictured it, and it's probably deep in the Japanese version, but it's probably the best choice out of 4Kids' VAs. All in all… I still don't have the Training arena, or Alabasta as stages. Well, maybe if I beat Croc's story, I'll get something good.
EDIT: Ahh, well, beating his story did get me Alabasta, and I re-enacted the three fights between Luffy and Croc, and it was awesome. First, I beat Croc with the Gum Gum Storm, then, I made him do it in the second fight, though I then used Croc's secret attack, so he won. It was 1 to 1. For the third fight, I had Croc beat down Luffy, and made him kill Croc with the GG Storm. I loved it. Now I need to know how to get the training stage.... -
Aokiji for your viewing pleasure.
-
^ If that's supposed to be Ao Kiji, I don't see him.
Sir Crocodile's one of my FAVE chars to play besides Sanji. And dude, while I was completing the chars's training in Training Mode, man I saw moves even I didn't try when I first got the game. They're so awesome.
Lasoo and Miss Goldenweek would be my fav support chars. Oh, and Kureha and Django too. -
I deleted the Avatar from my account but I could put it back up if anyone wants it.
-
Can I see? <20 characters>
-
Ta-da
I decided to just pick out a frame from the avatar I made
-
Is that a bike he's on? Yeah looks so.
-
I never expected for the picture to just show up like that.
-
Just to answer some of your guy's question on how to unlock the Eden Rock stage (a.k.a. training stage)
Do every attack the character knows (all the attacks on the game chart) and knock down all the 8 pillars as well. After you're done, it should have the word COMPLETE appear, and you'll hear a weird sound, indicating you did it. Now, do that with EVERY character, or to be more accurate, 14, even though there are 16 characters, it unlocked after the 14th time. -
I would like to apologize for double posting, but this appeared just right after I posted.
@Sandai:Ta-da

Ok, I have seen him before. Didn't he like eat some Ice Devil Fruit? I saw a small animation of him freezing a punch of Luffy's once.
Plus I thought his name was Jeece… -
How could you have thought his name was Jeece? That's a member's name LOLz. Why does Ao Kiji wear a sleep mask looking thing?
-
He's a lazy bastard. I doubt he wears it ALL the time, but when the Strawhats first ran into him he was taking a nap.
And yes, he ate the Hie Hie (chill chill) Fruit, the logia for ice.
-
@Sanji's:

Well…
When I first registered for this forum (I had an account named Dranimond3), I saw someone's signature, and there was a small animation showing Luffy trying to Punch Ao Kiji, and he catches his fist and freezes it, and under that animation, it said "Thank You, Jeece!". I thought that member was a little messed up and saying Thank You to Ao Kiji, and it made me think that his name was Jeece.
'Tis the story. How was he in Grand Battle?
-
I'm only 5 hours away from being able to unlock Crocodile…I'm leaving it on Training.

Isn't his sleep thing green?
And Aokiji is pretty cheap… XD
-
…god damn this game is annoying. I am beating everyone in Hard mode to get Very Hard and SMoker, Buggy, and Zoro piss me off. Smoker hits me when Im down, Buggy keeps doing that friggin Bara Bara Harpoon, and Zoro keps doing Oni Giri.
I'll never get Shanks -
Nami does that. I was fighting against her in Loguetown and she kept bashing me against the wall. However, I used my Secret and finished her.
-
Okay may someone post detailed instructions as to how the hell to get the 4th set of costumes? I'm dying to see what they look like.

Oh, I thought as much.
Mr. Zoro: I see. XD
-
Anyone know how to extend Crocodile's Desert Prison? It's the one where he rushes forward and grabs the opponent.
-
Just keep press B (for the Gamecube version). It'll last longer and do more damage.
-

Odd… It worked for me beating Event Mode with each Strawhat 6 times... Maybe you need easy, normal, hard, and very hard rankings as well...
You can try 30 grand battles, but... >_>
-
Oh, btw, You can extend Kuro and Luffy's A+B specials (Gamecube version) by pressing B repeatedly and fast. I'm pretty sure it works with others, but I haven't gotten around to expirementing lately since I'm busy with Fire Emblem: PR.
-
Oh, and pressing Triangle early for Don Krieg's Poison Gas Bomb lets out his Shuriken bomb. :D
And for Bon Clay's "random" special:
X+X+O = Mr. 9 (three bazookas)
X+X+X+O = Mr. 8 (a short-range machine gun, Igarappa… something)
X+X+X+X+O (XD) = Mr. 7 (seven human-controlled shots) -

Didn't someone mention something about typing in a code at the title screen or whatever?
-
Look at this site for them:
www.gamewinners.com
select cheat codes, and then just click gamecube/PS2, and select the letter O, then look for One Piece: Grand Battle, and you're all set. -
Codes are cheap. :P The only codes I used were the ones for third costumes to see if they worked… >_>;
-
btw, did any of you notice that they still let Smoker have cigars on his jacket and such?
-
@Mr.:

Someone pointed that out around the first couple of pages.
-

Oh. so it wasn't a dream after all…
Plus, they made Bon Clay's jacket symbol say "MR.2 Bon Clay", instead of Ballerina, which was also suppose to be Okama Way
