I should have totally gotten the Battousai, but that was a long time ago and I didn't have the money to throw around that I do now. 2001… that was like, "maggie has to save up her paper route money" times. Well, maybe "gotta slave away at retail sales" times LOL. As it was that Kenshin figure was a gift. Not the one that I wanted (battousai) but that's the story of my life. The guy that buys me the right gift I should probably marry ahaha.
Back then I got bitched at for spending money on anything anime. Now I have loads of anime crap but at least most of it's worth something (unlike my sister's stamp collection thankyouverymuch)
that's a LOT of WCFs sensui! yikes! @_@ you're going to need to move into a bigger house soon to fit all this stuff!

Haha, you would of been married young. =) But yeah I think this stuff is totally a better investment than some of the other things people spend big bucks on. Before I got out of college all I could do was drool at anime collections because I was barely scrapping by to pay rent with a crappy job fixing computers for earthquake research…

Yeah I now have my own house and am allocated 1 room. It's technically my home "office" but it's filled with BD/DVD/Anime Collectibles/Manga and my computers instead rofl. Good thing the wife was a little more flexible and let me move all my gaming systems and tv into the master bedroom to give me space to breath. The other 2 bedrooms are used as a guest room and my daughter's room for now...and we got a big bonus room instead of a tandem garage that I got big plans for but am finding the right moment to bring it up to the wife heh....I promise so many things and I always weasel out of it at the end in terms of my "collection"....wonder how she puts up with me. =P I got plenty of space but we're going for a specific look in the house and have to be careful where to put the collectibles.

People with massive (and I mean truly massive) collections like yourself, RedDragon, izumi627, Dracmeer etc....I have no idea how you guys do it especially when I hear people keeping the boxes/packaging still.....this stuff takes WAY too much space.

I really don't want to cancel Hancock, but gotta and honestly after seeing the final pics, I'm alright with it. The POP isn't as glamorous as the press photos, but mostly the metallic kills it for me. I guess they envisioned her clothes as silk, but it doesn't work. I'm truthily glad I find her "meh", cause I don't have the $90.

Oh I am kinda honored to be put with those names , ReDDragons collection is truly massive =) Mine is tiny compared to his LOL.

LOL I have a storage barn in my back yard for the boxes , it is really a mess at the moment. It has been so hot and hotter in the barn, I just open the door and pitch the boxes in LOL.

When it gets cooler I will have to get in there and tidy it up. I need to get an air conditioning unit for when I go in there

Yeah, I don't really like the P.O.P either but it's not like I have to open it and the value will more likely appreciate than drop.
I have my pre-order for Super DX Hancock just in case. If that turns out bad, the price on it will probably go up like Super DX Ace.

I want to sell 95% of it, so it doesn't seem like it's that big as I only keep out that 5% (OP POPs, GLMs, random ace stuff and WCFs) for viewing. I don't like 'too much figures'. I had friends whose shelves were overflowing and they didn't organize them. Every time I wanted to see a figure, I'd knock over like 7 others trying to get to it (and I'm a careful collector myself!) and my friend would get angry, and I'd feel terrible. There was no rhyme or reason, series or company, style of figure organization. My boyfriend also knows a few people who have literally floor-to-ceiling collectibles that are AMAZINGLY dusty. Everywhere. Overwhelming.
Though my room used to be wall-to-wall plushies, like some crazy anime insane asylum LOL! I guess I just want figures to be presented and kept in a sane, organized, and alluring manner. Thank you Ikea and acrylic risers!

edit: holy shit sensui!! I have no idea what I'm looking at but that looks amazing! Though I'd probably be that person that would sit down to watch a movie and wouldn't know what to turn on to what setting or even which one was the DVD player ahaha

Jealous of everyone having a proper set up for their collectables. As I'm still at University, I move every year so nothing really has a set place. However, just moved into my new place and found out it has loads of more shelves than I remember so filled them to the brim with figures. Just irritating knowing I will have to pack them all up again in 10 months time to move back home, where they will most likely end up back in their boxes for another few years :(

I'm starting to run into what you're saying….my figures and collectibles are stacking up and overflowing into my closet for now. I have to find a good way to organize like you with the risers and definitely start getting more selective with the things I buy. You did a good job with the Ace shrine! And it's ok Maggie, I'm sure most people wouldn't know what they're looking at....kinda makes me think wtf though as I haven't even taken pics of my houe after it's finished....rofl my windows don't even have shutters yet at the time....shows what I prioritized. =P

I have to have a rhyme and reason to my displays. Ace shelf. WCFs in tiered containers. POPs staggered just so (DAMN brooke is pissing me off, he's too tall to fit where he's supposed to!), with milds in front of the NEOs. If I get a figure that doesn't fit in just the right way, out it goes. That's why I try to get the POPs. They 'fit' together. Looks like the shichibukai DX are going to have a tough battle ahead of them conquering territory.

I totally agree with you right here. I know people say to leave everything and get out of the house during a fire, but I'm keeping giant duffel bags in my room for emergency figurine evacuation (and me, evacuation of me) in the event of a fire. There is no way in hell I would leave my figurines to die. :T Ace figures melting in a fire is horrible irony ok. And Lucci survives Buster Calls, he better survive the fire ok.

Yeah, I don't own my own house yet but I really prefer keeping my figures in my room anyway. It makes my room more homey and packratlike. Err…yeah.

Oh, and I meant to say - awesome Ace display, maggie! I probably should get some little shelves like those too, but I haven't been paying enough attention to you guys when you were all talking about where to buy them so I have no idea. Maybe the next time we go to Ikea...=w= heheh.

They're in NY so they'll get to you super fast. You can only buy in sets of 4, though, but let's face it… they're going to get used eventually. They also sell all kinds of nifty display stuff, got some stuff for cosmetics that holds my copics and pens really well!

and thanks for complimenting my ace display! I had to unscrew all the keychains from their hangers and lean them on stuff LOL. Not sure what to do about super DX ace. Want him by my computer to stare at him all the time but my bigger ace figures would look so good by my ace area (NEO POP + new POP + GLM + Super DX). I can't stand to separate my POPs from each other as well as GLM from each other. ARGH!

My figure collection is pretty modest; my video game collection on the other hand...I have over 700 and I'm completely out of places to store them at this point. And yes, a fire is my absolute worst nightmare.

I don't know about the EKBY (lol Ikea and your crazy names) but I am also in the market for some cheap "floating" wall shelves. Hm.

Yeah.. My figure collection isn't much yet and it's mostly video games. That's why I want a stone house with some sort of fireproof room to hold my collections of things.
It's better than any insurance, that's for damn sure. I have games that are irreplaceable.

Everyone has different tastes and different loves I'd say.
My favorite figure is FFXIII lightning action figure, and I believe SW Zoro ver 2 will over take that in September.
Something I am wondering about:
I saw on Redon's posted pics on Ace DX with the Ace wanted poster. It looks to be a flier of some sort. From what I could make out from google translate, it's some Flier that you have to mail for or something at game centers ( I might be completely wrong since the sentences made no sense). I kinda like it to display with ACe DX.

How on earth do the SH Figuarts luffy and ace look terrible? They look awesome! Ive been waiting for them for about a month and a half. They look absolutely perfect. Ive ordered both of them with AmiAmi, but they still havent sent me a bill yet, which means i might have to wait til monday to pay :(. I will most likely end up getting the Nami too, she looks good. But yeah i agree, a Zoro would be absolutely awesome! imagine have all three of his sword with removeable cover things and a face which fits a sword in his mouth. I think its highly likely that they will make one, im actually surprised they made Nami before the other straw hats.

Perfect? The facial detail is poorly done. It's cool that it's an action figure but they really should have gotten someone else to do the faces.

As one of the more hardcore Ace collectors on this thread, I'll actually have to agree and say Figuarts Ace's sculpt is not the best it could be. Overall the figure still looks colorful and masculinely attractive (heeee) but doesn't look as much like Ace as some other figures. In terms of likeness the first Ace Flex action figure still takes the cake. Flex Ace has one of the best Ace likenesses - compared to the original Oda depiction, anyway - in both facial detail and body proportions. -

I'm still getting Figuarts Ace, though, because it's still purty. Certainly not as purty as DX Ace, but bleh. There aren't many OP action figures out to begin with, and those interchangeable parts are going to keep me occupied for a while. - likes playing with mini plastic parts xd

My display cabinet shelves are cute and all but I hope DX Ace has been exercising and keeping slim, LOL. Kuji Oars with raised arms fits well enough with a small glass ledge above him to hold some of my other FCs, but just barely. DX Ace is going to be vertically and horizontally challenged in there. I'll need to do a lot of rearranging. 8U

And I want to make a whole shelf for only Ace stuff, too. A

It's an action figure like the Figuarts Ace but it was released back in 2002 I believe. It's long sold out, I even wanted to buy one of Ace and Zoro, but it's all out of stock and I can't use Paypal to do deals with any of the middlemen living in japan in the thread.

I put the boxes in a giant cardboard box and most of my figures were acquired in loose condition

if this keeps up i might end up having a closet full of boxes

I take care of my elderly parents so technically I still live at home, lol. I still hear about it when I get packages, about how I shouldn't spend my money on those things. But I have my mom trained; she calls me at work to let me know I've got a package lol.

In our house I have a library/collectibles room. I also use my closet and my parents closet to store things in, plus the attic for boxes.

As a matter of fact, the bottom of my closet is full of boxes right now, it's getting harder and harder to hang some clothes in, rofl.
though the few really huge boxes I have (POP, Ichiban Kuji) are stapled next to the wardrobe, but pretty soon there won't be much space left there. :ninja:

It's suppose to be released on the 31st of this month. Shipping times depends on where you ordered it from.

It's suppose to be released on the 31st of this month. Shipping times depends on where you ordered it from.

Has that been said to be the actual release date or is this still the maximum because of "Late August"?

AmiAmi just shipped out Strong World. Pretty quick since it's only near 7am over there.

on the site i posted recently with the Boa photos it says release date is 31/08.
