I started scanning/translating Inumaru Dashi but it's really hard, plus I've got a lotta other obligations. And I'd need to scanalte it myself because no other group ever did.
Nobody really scanlates Kochikame or Pyuu to Fuku Jaguar either. I think a couple groups have picked up the early ones, but it's not done actively, or what's current, or anything like that.
Strangerataru did like 15 chapters of Kochikame. Just about 1800 to go… We're all pulling for ya...

Yeah, it's a crying shame shit like Naruto and Bleach get 20+ scanslations, while classics like Kochikame are never even considered.
Speaking of which, Mines has been translated. Really liked that one.

I've barely got time to do my own projects. Especially trying to catch up with Gintama. And now I've got the Bakuman extra to do… now that I just caught up with Toriko in translation but not typsetting.
If I'm doing any other projects, it's gonna be volume scanlations. Since those don't have to be speed-scanned or translated. It'll just depend on if I can get people to work on cleaning them.

Unfortunately I didn't expect to get roped into doing Hell Teacher Nube when I started the KochiKame Project. (even though I love that series) Besides, right now I only really have about 100 volumes of KochiKame on my HD and never got the chance to get more before the fallout occurred regarding everything that happened.
Well…at least I have incentive to do 3-100...but after that may need to require digging. (unless I buy the whole series myself)

Lessee, checking archive sites, it first ran as a one-shot in issue 29 in 1976, and was serialized in issue 42 of 1976. And has run nonstop since then. Woo...Strangerataru, tell you what, if you translate all of the first 100 volumes I'll personally... go on Share and Perfect Dark and look for copies of the later volumes.
Molokidan when he was in semi-retirement was doing Pyuu to Fuku Jaguar and translating through Dragonball. But since he's doing like 3 series a week for mangastream now I think he's gonna be busy for doing those sorta things. He does a good job but makes some weird errors once in a while...

Basically it's a gag series by the creator of "Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi-yo Masaru Kun" about…well, a kid who plays the recorder. A bunch of weird stuff happens but basically the main character is a genius recorder player.

It's not just japan, we had to learn those things when I was in elementary school. They're the default instrument for introducing kids to music.

There was a Jaguar OVA anime that was done in Flash and looked kinda crappy... And I've never even found raws of it.

hey kewl, or well anyone else. Although I only know a little japanese, I'm an english major and I know photoshop so I can help you clean/check your grammar/typeset/ or anything you need to get some of the less popular series and one-shots scanlated.

If you wanna help clean or typset or something, you should go online read some tutorials so you get some basic ideas first. Different groups have their own style, some more complex than others. I usually try to make mine match the original in fonts and style and clean without modifying it too much, but getting rid of all the dust and dirt, etc.

It is but we want to do HQ scanlations of the volumes. The raws gotten from Shonen Jump the magazine are on low quality paper and ink in order to keep a 300 page magazine cheap week to week. The volumes are done with much better quality.
Plus the first dew volumes of Toriko's scanlations are pretty crappy looking and were done by people who didn't really know what they were doing. So with my group I was gonna have people check everything once I'd done it. Use all the right fonts, clean it properly from better quality sources, etc.

Well as has been discussed, I'm doing like 20 projects so often that gets put on the backburner a bit. Since it's monthly and all. Right now I'm scanning through the volumes. I finished translating all the chapters last month, I need to buy the last two, the July and August issues though.
Volume 3 is coming out soon too, so I need to get/scan that. But right now I'm cleaning the first volume, and stopped half way through that. Then I gotta typset it and have everyone check it. And it's a whole volume so might take a bit. -

That's old, that TOC. All those chapters are already released. Or the raws are out. But the TOC was released last Wednesday. There hasn't been a sho-neta today yet.
It seems this is Jaguar's 10th anniversary, also. I think it's where the author decided would be a good place to end.

As for the stuff going on…well, I think it's good to say now that 2010 just won't let anything survive. With so many series gone so far and the year nearly done, it's making even the semi-weak series (Psyren, Kuroko, Medaka, Hokusenshitsu) breathe massive sighs of relief. And somehow...seeing a special Beezle chapter suggests "a" way OP's break will be handled.
