I don't think she shapeshifts with each personality. Which would explain why the boy personality is so pissed…
If they can make that work, it would go a long way toward saving the character.

I wonder if it could compare to the red hood character from Darkstalkers…. but I doubt.

Actually, that would be quite funny. He'd be supremely pissed off that he looks like that.
Possibly why she's covered in a cloak in that previous picture with Ragna.

B.B. Hood? No one compares to her.
Does she have multiple personalities? I thought she was bipolar, or just completely insane.
I can't really tell. She acts moe at times but that's just a cover up for being an insane person with packing heat(collects bounty like a business person too). Or is being moe really a cover up? I dunno. Never read through her bio since I just played it recently.
If I recall correctly, the moe thing is a complete act. She's a completely bloodthirsty, ruthless killer - as one would have to be, to hunt Darkstalkers. In fact, Jedah summoned her to the Majigen as a Darkstalker purely because her heart was so dark.
"When creating B.B. Hood, Okamoto stated in his design notes that every Darkstalker character is inspired by something in fantasy, myth, and horror. When creating B.B. Hood however, he wanted to do something a little more sinister. Rather than be based off of an archetype, or a myth, B.B. Hood is inspired by the frightening qualities of the human race itself. When motivated by greed or ambition and fueled by malice, no monster can compare to how terrifying humans can be. This is what B.B. Hood personifies, from her deceptive appearance to her relentless, heartless quest for money. It could even be said that B.B. Hood represents humanity's dark side. These notes were included in the official Japanese strategy guide for Darkstalkers 3."
Yay for wiki.
The games out.
1up just posted their review of BB:CS
http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?pager.offset=0&cId=3180608&p=
And its looking really good! I especially like the news that it has a training and tutorial mode akin to Virtua Fighter (which quite literally was a training mode teaching you how to play the game properly) and the online is still good.
I just might be hopping back on the BB train, though I'm probably gonna go with the PS3 version this time around (no offense Shmeckie).
I got the game and it's awesome :D
Are there any Teach Me Miss Litchi episodes in this game?
EDIT: Never mind i found new Teach Me Miss Litchi episodes

Psh. I see how it is…
I'mma pick up a copy after Otakon's over. I hear m'boy Hazama's got a steep learning curve, so I got no time to waste mastering his ass!
Psh. I see how it is…
Hey the XBOX may have treated me well with Street Fighter but I think I'm just more comfortable PS controller as far as other fighters (I mean, trying to play Virtua Fighter 5 nearly broke my heart).
Besides I'd say I'm as casual of a BB fan as they come, so I think I'll spent the majority of my time offline.
I was here about to buy it just to play Tonfa and Cap but I see how it is Tonfa :luigicry:

:getlost:
….OK....well....maybe....I'll...sell a few Yu-Gi-Oh cards on eBay...and consider going hybrid like in SSFIV....
Yay :D I'll be getting my copy this week if I can manage to trade and junk.
I played a little bit of this game over at Shmeckie's place after the con.
We took a peek at tutorial mode with Hazama, and this mode is pretty much exactly what I had been hoping for, a Virtua Fighter-like training program that goes in depth to each character uniquely covering everything from game mechanics to basics to individual strategies.
Hazama himself is really cool and is apparently the character with the biggest learning curve.
Then we played a couple of matches using sticks, I don't know whether the stick just has gave me a sharper edge, or using the stick with a newly acquired octagonal gate (squares can go fuck themselves now), or they just did a lot of tweaking, but my favorite character, Bang Shishigami is seems alot easier to use this time around. Hakumen also switched up a bit apparently, but Shmeckie can tell you about that.
Finally we took a crack at the arcade mode, Unlimited Hazama is quite a bitch, unlimited Hakumen too.
Great game, and I'll definitely pick it up sometime down the line, definitely not now (Still feeling the burn from the hole Otakon left in my wallet).
Hazama is BITCH HARD to use, but definately worth it. I'm having flashbacks to using Exdeath in Dissidia: hard as hell to use, but MAN is he a monster when used properly. Hakumen's changes are gonna take some serious getting used to… He has so many new tools at his disposal, but they also made his timing stricter, and he lost some combos (and the invincibility on his damn 6A...!). With time, though, I'll adapt.
Also, I'm loving Story Mode so far, and with every line he speaks, my mancrush on Terumi/Hazama grows ever larger.
"I really don't feel like having any cats around right now, so... if you could just go ahead and die, that'd be super!"
For those who don't know, getting enough bad endings in Story Mode will unlock the "Help Me, Professor Kokonoe" bits. Like the SD Teach Me, Miss Litchi shorts (which are all back from the first game, by the way, plus new ones with quizzes that unlock artwork if you get 'em right), where Kokonoe shatters the 4th wall to help players get the good endings, and chastises "nutballs" who "only want to unlock stuff," or say they'll just "find a flowchart online." Seriously. That's what she says.
Also, taunting in Story Mode matches immediately gives you enough Heat to use a Distortion Drive. A good thing to remember if you're up against Unlimited Hazama with a character you suck with!
Really? Did not know that. Gonna give all that a try. Cap wanna play some matches later? I suck in this game so I'll most likely get destroyed :X
Sure! It'll help me practice with Haku-Men and The Other Great One.
…Who just dropped a fucking Dark Knight reference!
"Come on now, Carl Clover. Why so serious?"
The way his VA says it is practically a dead-on imitation, too.
so who's bought this?
Does raping lolis still feel as good as it used to?

Have you not been reading my updates, man?! And yes, yes it does. Very much so… With a snake-chain made of what I can only assume is evil...
Downloaded Makoto for the game and she is my type of character :D She isn't really hard to play but her Charge punches have odd timing and trying to get used to them so far.
Makoto's fun as hell, and her character (story-wise) the the kind that's impossible not to like. Plus her theme has really grown on me. All-in-all a great addition. Oh, and her Distortion Drives are epic, and her Astral actually manages to out-crazy TAGER'S.
Oh, yes, and her fighting style is comprised of a fuckton of Dudley homages. Ah, but it seems like I'm forgetting something…
Oh, yeah, SHE FUCKING YELLS SPOON WHEN SHE USES HER DRIVE! FUCKING HOMAGE TO THE TICK! CS has already been ramping up the shout outs, but holy shit!
On a similar note, I urge all of you to watch the joke endings (except Lambda's. Not getting into that one…). They're 1,000x crazier and funnier than CT's joke endings. For instance, Ragna becomes a ghost on a ship with Rachel and Tager, who are also ghosts (and how they all died is hilarious). They come under fire from a ghost ship manned by Ghost Jin, Ghost Carl, and Ghost Hazama with Nirvana as the bow ornament and using Arakune as its sails.
Jin's joke ending? He lands on a deserted island that happens to be alive, magical, and focused on listing things about him, from the top 3 minor characters he cares the least about, to the top 3 most suggestive things he's ever said to/about Ragna.
And Taokaka's? Well, that shit defies description.
$8 for Makoto?!
Jesus tittyfucking Christ!
What about Michael Jackson's reincarnation, Old nigga, and Sailor Sakura?!

I think Hazama (the MJ guy) comes with the game.

Comes with the game, $8, and $8.
Sigh… I'll most likely just buy Makoto since she looks so fucking fun and not because of the underboob.
I should have this game by fucking tomorrow.
If not... I'm going to fucking rage.
i'll probably get it. We'll fight n-word
I say you better get that shit as of today before I start getting all nerdy and shit, then start my raping spree.
Just like Street Fighter IV, I sucked all kinds of ass at first for a whole year and didn't know how to do a damn thing.
But, that's because I was on my friend's Xbox 360.
I'm pretty good with Taokaka, Litchi and used to use Ragna all the time
Oh.
it's Sarus.
I'm pretty good with Taokaka, Litchi and used to use Ragna all the time
I didn't play much of Calamity Trigger, thanks to my friend having on Xbox 360 and he had it and played a week or two ahead of me. (I didn't have my PlayStation 3 at the time)
I used Rachel and Litchi.
I want to be fucking awesome with Litchi and I'm sure I can do it with my determination. Hehe.
I wanted to use Taokaka, but my friend's girlfriend played with her and I was like fuck that shit nigga. :getlost:
I also used Bang Shishigami, but that was only because to annoy my friends with this beauty:
eGW8L61KzAU
(It doesn't effect me, because I grew up with the Japanese Dragonball Z anime)
My friends always say, "There's your main, stupid bitch!" but I don't think I'll use him. Haha
Oh.
it's Sarus.
Oh no!
Hell yeah son! I Bang Shishigami as well!
Or at least I tried to be in the first game, maybe its me but Bang seems alot easier to use in Continuum Shift. Definitely picking up him and Makoto when I get around to getting this game…
I have to wait til' about September. Complications. >.>
But either way, I've made an agreement with my brother-in-law: ALL fighting games will be bought on the PS3.
So yes, I'm getting this and MvC3 on PS3.
Aw, man. The thread's awesome title is gone. :(
Anyway, you know why you should get it ASAP? I'll tell you why you should get it ASAP…!

That's why! Oh, also, it's very very fun.
watches both videos and reads sig
Oh my God…..I NEED this game.
I've got to wait till october for this.
On the plus side it is a pretty stuffed LE.
[Lesson:[/B] You won't realize something until it's gone.]** Who the fuck got rid of the damn title?!
Shit!
If you were going to change it, at least put "BlazBlue: Continuum Shift" for fuck sakes.
There are some lucky bastards that are already playing on the fucking consoles.**
so I got whooped by a dope Makoto player.
But one of her winquotes is "He who conquers the left side conquers the world" (or something like that) which is a direct quote from FLCL!
Despite dressing like a hooker, she just earned massive points in my book.
Actually getting better with Tao. Learned a few cool things thanks to challenge mode.
Litchi and Hazama is next (they weren't kidding about his learning curve).
My beef with this game is that I'm not as good as the general online community yet. Which is weird cause literally EVERYONE on PSN can just bust out those amazing combos like nothing. I've found NO noobs or crummy players, so i'm kinda demoralized since that would mean that's me. i'm gonna study the fuck outta those combos
Just make room and set it to "beginner's" if you're looking for other newbs. I have noticed that this game really REALLY tries make everyone as equal as they can both from the rooms, the tutorials and having the "Beginner mode" setting.
Which I actually found pretty interesting and better than the "Easy Specials" in BB:CT. What it essentially does is change the function of the buttons A, B, C, and D to N, H, S, and T which represent a Normal Attack, Heavy attack, Special attack, and Throw respectively.
This means that if you want to pull off a fancy combo, all you gotta do is use the Square button and your character automatically fills in the blanks, and if you wanna follow up with a Distortion Drive all you have to do is hold down the button and a little meter will appear and fill up quickly, the DD is then executed the moment the meter is full.
On the downside, there are things you can't do like normal guarding or Barrier Bursting (in beginner mode, your guard is automatically a barrier guard) and special moves you really can't use as freely as you'd like. For example, I "beginner mode"d an arcade run through with Bang and I couldn't throw a shuriken at all, usually it just throw out a HEAVENLY PHOENIX or aerial command grab, stuff like that.
Tutorial mode as I mentioned before is really good and practically Virtua Fighter quality. Other than the "Strategies" section Rachel guides you through all the basic functions of the game while explaining jargon like "cancels" and whatnot. Its kinda funny since she starts off sound like a real prissy bitch at the start and then becomes less and less of a bitch as you go throughout the intermediate and advanced sections.
Finally, I really really like Bang in this game. I can confirm that he is much less frustrating to use than in CT, and I say that because you can link a lot weak attacks together easily before going for a PULVERIZING FIST or Drive attack.
Oh right, me not buying the game for a while….well when my grandparents were over here, I kinda got $40 from them because I'm really awesome..so yeah....PSN people I wanna fite youz guyz.

CS has a lot of references, actually. Hazama's aforementioned Dark Knight quote, Makoto chanting "MekaLekaHiMekaHineyHo" in Tager's Gag Reel, and I forget which show this quote from Bang is from: "Believe in me who believes in you!" Also, as I said earlier, one of the things Makoto yells during her drive is "SPOON!" Her outfit may be absolutely stupid, but she's definately one of my favorite characters in the game.
Also, Hazama uses the term "Protip" at one point. BlazBlue may have a complex and dramatic plot, but that doesn't mean it has to take itself 100% seriously, which is why I love it.
If you wanna fight less skilled folks, best advice would be to hit Ranked Matches on custom and set it to search for people around your skill level.
So remember how I talked about the nasty delays that I got when using my XCM Cross Battle adapter to use my fightpad and stick to play Street Fighter on the PS3?
Well, I decided to give my fightpad another shot with BlazBlue and…...holy shit...its flawless! I can jump without delay, punch without delay, pretty much move as though it were a PS3 controller!
I'm gonna experiment with my stick tomorrow just to make sure I'm not somehow going crazy.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU-
You know what. I think i'll just import it. Like i did with the first BlazBlue.

Probably because traditional 2-D fighters are more smooth than SF4 as a whole. Plus you don't have SF4's odd rhythm to throw you off… >.>
SFIV doesn't have THAT odd of a rhythm. Its different and slower from BB yeah, but there is a logical pace in which a lot of the combos are executed, and SFIV even gives you a bit of leeway when it comes to executing special moves.
I dunno, I guess it just takes less time to read inputs for sprites vs. full models, if thats the "smoothness" issue you're referring to. In which case the time it takes to pass a signal through my adapter is almost negligible.
Or CAPCOM and MadCatz are just in cahoots with each other to make sure people like me who play hybrid buy two versions of their arcade sticks >.>…
Cap I realllllyyyyy hate your Arakune :< Sorry I left so early.
You also showed me how Makoto is supposed to be played like lol
Been futzin' around with Makoto. Once again I'm reminded of just how different the characters in this cast play, it's a real blast. :3
I just finished a few fights with Gekko. I think I'll pick Taokaka up for a little bit, she's really fun to use. At least until I get around to buying Makoto.
Cap I realllllyyyyy hate your Arakune :< Sorry I left so early.

Why thank you! You think my Arakune is bad now, you should've seen me back in CT. :p I'm still getting used to all the changes made to Arakune and Hakumen. Tager, oddly enough, I'm doing better with…
Unlimited Taokaka is the funniest thing ever. Her Drive becomes this charged-up energy tackle that shaves tons of life, but can only fire her in one direction after a brief pause to power up. Crazy as that may be, the best part is her projectile. Normally she throws three simultaneous pieces of junk instead of one, but every so often she'll chuck a giant Taokaka doll.
<3 Tao.
Man, I'm having too much playing as Bang Shishigami.
He's like the Dan Hibiki of BlazBlue, only he doesn't purposefully suck!
I'd say Bang is a thousand times more epic than Dan, myself. Just wait 'till you play Story Mode.
Gotta say I'm surprised that Valkenhayn won't be in his suit, but I'm assuming that's his regular battle attire, possibly from his days as one of the Six Heroes.
