I have no idea what games Capcom is behind other than Street Fighter an Megaman, so I'll just wait and see.
It's MAHVEL Vs CAPGOD 3 BAYBEE!!!
-
-
Satsuki, you never played Marvel vs Capcom before?
Oh, and I'll assume the only Capcom games you played is Street Fighter, Okami, and Megaman correct?
-
20 bucks says we'll get more non fighting game characters like this.
My money is on Arthur, Bionic Commando and Frank West being here.
There's always Capt. Commando and Kaijin no Soki as well.
-

Only a few times in an arcade waaaaaay back when. Again, I've never been big into fighters, I've only played them at arcades or a friend's house. I'm an RPG girl, through and through.
But this one might make me actually try and be GOOD at a fighter, just to kick ass with Ammy. And I'm really pleased to see from the vid that Ammy's style of fighting seems to be the same as in Okami. They even have the "bullet beads" move with the rosary beads. (and pleeease let Issun have a cameo!)
As for Capcom games, uh, I guess so? As I said, I don't know just how many pies Capcom has its fingers in, so I could very well have played several without knowing.
-
Capcom pretty much makes everything.
And since you're into RPGs…
You played a couple of their Zelda games (yes they made some GB ones)

And you probably missed THIS gem.

Watch the Amaterasu gameplay again. Hear the female voice talking? I'm pretty sure that's Issun. AND he's in ENGLISH!
I keep watching the vid, but is Ammy doing any of her brush techniques? I don't see any. Except that one that doesn't work on Spiderman's stage.

Capcom's Zelda games were awesome! Breath of Fire needs a new release!
-

Actually I think that was just an announcer. He/she was saying the same kind of remarks as Capcom vs. SNK 2's announcer.
-
No, thats definitely Issun. Pretty sure its Issun. He had that high pitched feminine voice in the game too (although everyone just spoke gibberish).
-
Ugh, something is seriously wrong with my account.
If it says, "your server went down" one more fucking time…

Ah, okay, okay.
Hey! There's nothing wrong being a "RPG girl".
Just sayin'
I think you should play "Namco x Capcom".
Again… just sayin'

I'll have to say this, if you want to main Amaterasu, then you're going to have to put your gameface on.
I'm very sure, she's going to be a technical character.
Although, the control scheme is very easy and I mean, very easy for newcomers.
You want a cameo heh? I don't know about appearance, but I swore I hear Issun as an announcer.
So… I'm guessing Marvel vs Capcom 3 will let you be able to switch voices into certain characters and I think that's badass if true.It sucks that there won't be an Okami stage. They said, the artwork for the MvC3 characters didn't look too good with the artwork from Okami in the background.

ahem
To Wikipedia! Haha
-
Seeing Dante, Trish, and Ama in this game really makes me want to see Bayonetta in this game.
I know she's not Capcom, but she's just so badass.
-
If it helps I saw issun during her prefight howl. He was jumping on her muzzle before hiding behind the mirror.

This post is deleted!

When and looked and you my good sir are right!
We're up to 16 (17 if you count VJ) so we're halfway to the ~30 characters they currently have planned. So there is still a lot of space for hope.
-
They said 30+ so 34-38 would be closer.
-
Awesome game so far, with a lot of good characters. By the way, is there any chance for one or two sengoku basara characters to appear in the game? or even kratos (god of war)?
-
or even kratos (god of war)?
Doubt it for a number of reasons, but if you absolutely need to play as Kratos in a fighting game you can play the PSP version of Soul Caliber 4.
-
No need, but I thought it would be a nice addition to the game after reading a list of capcom published games. I was also pleasantly surprised that sengoku basara is produced by capcom, so I have some hope for Date Masamune.
-
Why would Kratos be in the game? Not even done by Capcom :/
-

Capcom published it in japan, but yeah maybe not very likely after looking in to it some more

That's kind of a stretch to be honest…
I mean I can see the logic.
But Kratos is 100% Sony.
-
A character I wish was Capcom but isn't is Travis Touchdown. It would be so awesome if he were in this game. Too bad he's Ubisoft though.
-
A little late to the party, but this one looks great.
I just discovered this game series, after downloading Marvel vs Capcom 2 on xBox Live. Can't wait to see the full character roster. I'm just hoping that Juggernaut isn't in this one, because he annoys the shit out of me in in MvC 2. -

Well, fuck. But I guess I'd find it worthwhile practice, just because I love Ammy so much. That was always one of the things that kept me away from fighters, I never got into the characters enough to find it rewarding. This, however, would be an exception. Not only Ammy, but all those Marvel characters and new Capcom ones I know and love.
No Okami stage!? Bullshit! There was plenty to choose from in that game! The village! The forest! Oni Island! The Heavens!
-
ALL great examples of Awesome stages that DONT fit the art style.
I will say this thou.
If Arthur from Ghosts N' Goblins is in this… I want the first level graveyard stage with Gargoyles and Zombies running amok :D!

They tried to add a Okami Stage but it was clashing with the characters current comic book look so it felt out of place.

Love will make you do anything! Haha

Ah, sweet! Motivation!
Oh, and I forgot to ask you, which console will you play on?

Yeah, yeah, I know…
I'd love to see how it looked, instead of taking their words... although, they're like, creating the game. >:\

I'll be playing PS3.

Actually Ubisoft has the North American rights to the NMH games, though regardless you still wouldn't get any of the cast in the game.
-
Hey KinkyScamp I got a 2 day trail if you ever want to play me in MVSC2 :P
-
-
I decided to join the dark side (for me) and try this game when it comes out, looks pretty good. Not GOTY quality like some of you are calling it, probably in the Fighter genre unless SSFIV or StreetFighter x Tekken take it.
I'm not big on fighters, is the gameplay similar to Street Fighter? Cause I suck immensely at that.. Main reason I don't play it is because of that..
I wish I could love it, but I just suck so bad that I can't. Then again, I had the same problem with FPS' a few years ago and look at me now. I guess I should just practice.
Also, I've seen a few people over XBL play SSFIV, but it comes up as a whole different game from SFIV.. I thought it was just the same game priced at 40 dollars with some new characters? Or is it a whole new game, only with the same engine?
-
Same engine but a LOT of tweaks and new characters.
A LOT of tweaks.
I can't even play the original SFIV anymore when comparing them.
It's like playing SFII Arcade edition then playing Super SFII HD Remix.
"Same game".
-

How do you expect someone who has never bought a SF game (played them, not bought) to tell the difference between Super SFII HD Remix and Super Ultra Mega SFII HD 1080p Remix?
I didn't realize it had 60 new Ultras, which I assume are special attacks, so yeah, that's some bang for your buck. I find it odd that they didn't ship it as separate DLC, though.
BTW, this game is a retail game, right? Not like MVC2
-
Basically saying if you have played the original Street Fighter II, then played SSF II HD, you would feel a noticeable difference, despite its core being the same.
The same holds true between Street Fighter IV and SSF IV.
SSF IV is much faster and smoother in its movement, and each character (in addition to the 10 brand new characters) now has two Ultra attacks (rage-gauge Super combos) instead of only one, and since they are complete game changers (because they hurt a LOT when they hit), there is a whole slew of new things to worry about.
Also, charge times were changed for certain characters, damage and health was readjusted, slight changes were made to how many times / how quickly a move will hit.
And yes, SSF IV is a disc-based game, while MvC2 is downloadable. MvC3 will be disc-based, of course.
I'll say this, I didn't like SF IV and was disappointed by it, but I love SSF IV and feel that it completely makes up for it.
…
To tie this back on topic, I hope the same holds true for MvC3. I don't like MvC2, but it's fun on occasion, but MvC3 looks to really be improving the system all around. Plus, I really like TvC, and this is looking like HD TvC, with Marvel characters, of course.
And it looks beautiful, even if I personally would have preferred some gorgeous 2D hand drawn HD art over the stylized 3D. It would take MUCH longer that way, however, so it's a fair trade.
And seriously, put the Bionic Commando in this! I want to play as Nathan "Radd" Spencer!
-
So yeah, random question but does anyone know where I can get the official artwork for Deadpool, Dante, Felicia and Captain America?
If its on the Marvel Website, I can't seem to find em.

I still think it's amusing that they keep Morrigan and Felicia in the line-up because they're MvC staples by now, yet it's been ages since there's been a Darkstalkers game/show.
Hell, I'd be surprised if any of the new generation of MvC players even know who they are.
-
Well they keep teasing fans about a new Darkstalkers game.
-
Morrigan is more of a staple than Felicia.
-
I actually hate Felicia.
-
I don't hate Felicia, I'm just amazed they can get away with her design. And does she have any personality aside from the ubiquitous "cat girl"?
Maybe if MvC3 does well enough they'll actually make another Darkstalkers game. I don't even remember if it was a fighter or what, though.
-
Darkstalkers is a fighting game based on Monsters and junk. Really fun game.
8BeFHVQgyJs
Most of the characters didn't really gotten a chance to be fleshed out since the series wasn't as popular as Street Fighter was till they brought them in the whole MVSC scene.
-

Cat girl who was raised in a monastery yet became a Vegas showgirl headline dancer is her basic backstory if I remember correctly
-
She's a singer, actually. Also, she's apparently the friendliest member of the cast, and I think she still works at the monastery. They show her there in an ending or two. She's a surprisingly endearing character, actually. I say surprisingly, because 9 times out of 10, when there's that much sex appeal in a female fighting game character's design, that tends to be their defining character trait (ain't that right, Mai, Juri, and Morrigan?). Felicia manages to avoid that, so props to her.
-
Huh. Well, good to know she's got some backstory and isn't just a pair of boobs.
-
good to know?
haha, if Shmeckie is defending her honor then you KNOW she's legit. -
Felicia was also, randomly, the lead darkstalkers hero character in the terrible godawful 90's american cartoon. Despite being basically naked. But she's generally considered the nicest most goodguy-ish character in the franchise.
But yeah, despite her design, she's the one female character that doesn't really make a thing out of it. ANd her moveset is pretty unique too, with some rolling attacks and ground fireballs.
Ammy being playable makes this game amazing. I hope she isn't all 360 degee spin motions or anything horrible like that. I will learn to play her.
Hopefully Talbain makes a showing too, but the werewolf gets no love. Felicia and Morrigan are the token Darkstalker characters after all.
Shame Phoenix Wright been announced as an official NOT appearing character, that would have been amazing. No Breath of Fire characters either, I suppose.
-
Oho~~~ I knew the Amaterasu announcement would bring you in here Robby.
Welcome back btw.
MOST characters in the MVC series are QCF (Hadoken) motion based (cept for Zangief… cuz he's epic like that).
So she SHOULD be easy to use.
Not to mention I still think her level 3 Ultra WILL involve the Celestial Brush.
