@GumGumBattleAxe:
pertwee's the 'reverse the polarity' guy right?
Yeah. It seems you've read the Wikipedia article. Try watching some episodes. ;)
As for me:
I've read a lot about all of the actors, but I can only judge the ones I've seen in the episodes so far. And I haven't even seen that much episodes, I just own a fex of the DVD boxes (expensive shit!!).
So~, that would be First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth.
Fifth - Peter Davison
As seen in Castrovalva, Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity. I can't really describe him, but I have such love for this guy. He's so incredibly funny and he's totally out of it. The scenes in Castrovalva where he drives around in the wheelchair or where he's playing around with his scarf, plus the scenes in Arc of Infinity where he shares the sceren with himself…
Also mentionable: His sketch "The Kidnappers" ... but I really can't count that as a point for Davinson's Doctor. :D
Eighth - Paul McGann
As seen in the movie. Totally love his romantic and confused attitude. At first, he manages to dress himself in a sexy baroque outfit… but somehow he totally forgets to get himself some shoes. :D
I also love the action pattern of the movie, the time travel aspects (i.e. where he tells the young guy how to pass his test in a year or so) and the grade of his quotability (I just made this word up).
"Maybe you have selective amnesia brought on by shock!"
"Maybe. I don't remember." :D
Tenth - David Tennant
As seen in Series 2, 3 and 4. You never forget your first Doctor… most people who watch the classic series don't like Tennant because of his hyperactivity. I like him for that. And of course because he points out things I also would do in his situation.
"Take me to your leader! I always wanted to say that."
First - William Hartnell
As seen in An Unearthly Child, The Daleks and The Edge of Destruction. I bought a DVD box with these episodes just for fun, because I wanted to know how it all started. I thought it would be very interesting… from a kind of archaeological point of view... but The Daleks totally blew my mind. I like the group dynamics because the Doctor travels with so many companions and how the Doctor somehow works as a kind of villain in that group.
And, of course, I love Hartnell's bloopers. "Chesterfield!" :D
Fourth - Tom Baker
As seen in Full Circle, State of Decay, Warrior's Gate, The Keeper of Traken and Logopolis. I always have to compare Baker and Tennant… somehow they're totally the same guy for me. How they act, how the react, their jokes (that nobody seems to understand), all that stuff.
Plus, State of Decay is perhaps THE best Doctor Who story I've seen so far.
Sixth - Colin Baker
As seen in The Trial of a Time Lord. He's not as bad as many people make him. I like how he doesn't know when to stop a bad joke… just like me.
Ninth - Christopher Eccleston
As seen in Series 1. He's okay. Don't know what else to say about him. He can be funny if he wants, he is funny when he doesn't want to (because of his accent), but he has some very cool episodes.
So, any comments to that? :)
