i read somewhere that kaku destroyed the ship for good is this true? and what chapter?
Kaku & merry
-
-
It's implied that he did, but we never saw the ship break.
Not sure what chapter.
-
We are supposed to think he destroyed it atleast. There wasn't actually a shot of it going to pieces however, so probably it'll sail by at the end of the arc as a final farewell or something.
-
Hey guys, you can clearly see Merry is shipwrecked on the scrapyard island.
….
....
.... or not. XD

blinks It must have been too long since I've read that chapter, since I swear Merry breaks into pieces when it hits the water.
I should re-read that chapter.
-
It shows Merry being pushed out by Kaku and then the next shot is just a shot of Water 7 and scrapyard island-so you never actually see it break…..

That'd be like Oda showing a shot of someone getting killed.. not too likely
-
Until there's a clear shot of the wrecked Merry, it's in the air.
Remember, Oda likes to pull fast ones. Like with Pell.
-
We don't see a clear shot of it breaking, but he throws it into the water, and a few chapters later, a big part of the low W7 is destroyd thanks to the tsunami. But, Pell did survive, like Bloodfoot said, and Franky did repair himself, when he should've been dead. So I sure we will se Merry again.
-
It's dead already anyway even though it wouldn't be a lump of wood yet.
Franky: No… it's not a ship anymore!!!
Unless…
A cyborg Going Merry powered by Pluton :ninja: -
I don't think Merry is dead yet. It'll probably set sail one more time before this arc is over, probably to help the Straw Hats against CP9 as a final thank you and goodbye.
-
The reactions of Usopp in that scene make me think there was some kind of confirming crash noise.

I was thinking of the same thing since Merry got destroyed.
The fact that we didn't see him crash, and all the talk about the klaubertermann (sorry if mispelled), the spirit of the Merry lead me to that conclusion. And don't forget, the train they used to go to enias lobby is broken, the pooffing Tom only has one wagon left, there isn't much place on the two yagara bull and I don't remember seeing any boat so far on this island.
So how the straw hats will leave the island?
I hope it will be the last travel on Merry -

Don´t forget that whatever it was what Sodom and Gomorrah were pulling. It was large enough to place the entire Franky Family including three Mighty Destroyers on it. Going Merry doesn´t have that much space.
Other than that in this recent chapter it just was mentioned that there will be a ship waiting to transport the criminals to their destinations beyond the Gate of Justice.
-
I did forget this ship.
But it really be good if the straw hats could see Merry one last time -

Yeah, but Pell's death was as/even more dramatic. And yet he survived. >.>

If a man can survive ground zero from a bomb that had a 2.5 KM blast radius with less bandages than Usopp, I think the merry will be distinguishable enough for a "parting shot". And I find the Mugiwara's possibility hijacking a marine ship very, very funny.
