2 does looks better than the original but definitely not as good as Paradise.
No More Heroes 2 : Desperate Struggle
-
-
I have to disagree, I think they look identical.
-
Paradise takes looks like it took a considerable departure from the Killer 7-ish visuals of the original along with adding some detail here and there so I wouldn't call them identical.
-
We still haven't seen gameplay tho, just cutscenes. We all know how this can go.
-
W40WBwCmuJs first trailer.
-
Kind of weird that they show Dark Star, the #1-ranked assassin, in what is technically the first trailer for the game, yet they don't show the 3rd, 4th, or 5th-ranked opponents. (admittedly, there's not much they could show for Letz Shake, but he only needs like 5 seconds of material)
-
Zoro ?
-
yeah it's him.
I dunno… i never got a chance to play this. And i'm a Suda 51 fan.
I might check it out. But if it's 60 bucks... it'll go in the rental pile
-
As awesome as Zoro's VA is he's no Travis Touchdown.
-
The graphics aren't as impressive as I thought. Especially since No More Heroes' graphics on Wii were on standard PS2 level at best. NMH could look probably look like the HD version on Wii, if Grasshopper would have the money ( Just look at Punch Out Wii or Another Code : R ).
And the Japanese voices aren't nearly as good as the English ones, but they'll probably won't be available in western versions anyway ( if Paradise will be released outside of Japan, that is )
-
Yeah, in motion it looks like the same game just without the hard black shading. Pfft…
-
The only new thing that I gathered from that trailer was that Travis now has the ability to physically transform into a tiger. Anybody notice anything else?
-
well they at least showed a new boss the red head in the ghost house that and sylvia's a woman of a thousand hair style's.
-
Oh lawrd, ignorant people are calling the game racist because Shinbu calls Travis "Master". These people HAVE to just want attention.

Yeah, and I thought the whole snafu with RE5 was bad; this is flat-out ridiculous. Shinobu calls her "master" only because she idolizes him now, more than before apparently.
-
Eh, whatever crap happening I'm pretty sure this will dry up just like the other steamy pile that was the RE5 controversy.
-
Yeah, the RE5 contro was funny, because Capcom doned a mask (which they refuse they did) by putting white people in the mix and only showing those levels in the trailers. Then the game comes out and there's levels with tribal people in grass skirts with spears and "imagery" everywhere and no one says a thing. Why? Because the stupid people who cried racist didn't play it. It's easy for these people to look at a trailer and judge it but in the end it was just something for them to bitch about and they never really cared, least not enough to play through a video game.
Another thing is NMH is no where near as big as RE, this wont even be notable.
Besides, is Shinobu even black? You can never tell with such characters the Japanese create.
-

Yeah… she's pretty clearly black, unless she's wearing blackface for some strange reason.
Some NMH characters may have odd nationalities, but I'd say ethnicity is pretty clear cut.
-
Well, a lot of dark characters in Japanese media are based on the Ganguro style. The reason I chalk Shinobu into the mix is cause she DOES wear light makeup and has light hair. Dark skin, light makeup and light hair is the Ganguro style. There's so many other dark skinned Japanese created women that can be put up there due to this. It's just hard to figure out sometimes if they truly intend the character to be black (like for example, Sheva Alomar from RE5), or just an extreme form of Ganguro.
-
To me, if a chracter has dark skin, she/he is either tanned or black. Some people make up alot of things to say otherwise like hair color, personality, family, ect. There's alot of light skinned characters than look pretty much nothing like the ones seen in real life(eyes, hair, ect). So why do people choose to single dark tones out? It's not that complicated of a matter.

Considering how fluent Suda seems to be when it comes to American culture, as well as the game being set in America and Shinobu having a very American real name, I'd say any possibilities of her being Ganguro can be weeded out.

New video, full of awesome ( and spoilers )

Spoilers? Spoilers how? As in simply revealing more ranked assassins?
-
Giant Robot Fight
I think Suda is quickly climbing up the ladder in being my favorite developer.
-

More gameplay elements are revealed and one fight. Depends on you how much of a spoiler that is.
-
Also, there's some clarification on another fight (one that we've already seen briefly in video form and a few screenshots).
-
Lol, Shinobu massages her katana (I know, she's really cleaning it, but c'mon). I was wondering what'd they do with that.
So, that guy is Skelter Helter, Helter Skelter's brother. Been wondering about that.
-
Whoa, I'm totally digging Skelter Helter's gun.
Oh, how I love Suda51.Also, I just made the connection with Suda 51 and Travis being ranked 51. Why didn't I see that before?
-

Yeah, having to fight Skelter Helter was a nice touch, and something people wanted to actually do. I just like that he somehow managed to survive from his last encounter, only to get brutally owned again, lol.
As for Travis' UAA rank being 51 and Suda51 being the creator of NMH2: Desperate Struggle, it crossed my mind as well until you pointed it out.
Like Tonfa said, it's things like this (amongst a boatload of awesome shit) that make everyone love Suda51's crazy-ass style. I think I spotted him doing a Sentai/Kamen Rider pose during the giant mech fight, speaking of which.
-

That was Helter Skelter. This is Skelter Helter, his brother.

I believe you're mistaken. This is not Helter Skelter, but his brother looking for revenge.
Which really fits nicely as an opening to a game that will be all about revenge.

Kamen Rider 1's, yeah.
-
Dammit, I got owned by a name swap. Story of my life. Regardless, this game's gonna be hype.
Heh, I had a gut feeling it'd be a Showa era Rider, let alone Kamen Rider Ichigo's.
-
Dang…
Woke up this morning, only to be disappointed that it wasn't January 27th.
What the crap. -
The official website is up.
http://nomoreheroesgame.us.ubi.com/#/internal:about
New assassins include
-an elderly samurai (seen in the video that is going on in the background)
-an astronaut (seen on the videos page)
-a fat guy with a flaming scythe (seen on the screenshots page) -
It's the 26th, people, not the 27th! I repeat, the 26th, people, not the 27th. Reset your morning alarm on your cellphones, I know I am.
A solid week to go.
-
You can tell it's the 26th and not the 27th since most games come out on Tuesdays, and also Mass Effect 2 and MAG as well as Tatsunoko vs Capcom will come out on the 26th.
I wonder which one will sell the most out of all of these. Most likely ME2 and TVC
-
Actually, I feel confident in saying NMH2 will outsell TvC due to TvC having a very niche audience due to half of the roaster really only being characters hardcore Japanophiles know.
-
^ I think you mean Japanophiles.
TvC will do decently just from the Street Fighters and people thinking it's like Marvel vs Capcom. I'm personally stoked for both games!
-
Ah yes, how silly of me. Edited.
-
I belive this is new i also believe i spotted a new boss or two towards the end.
kZNlKJ5zy00 -
Five fuckin' days, guys. Five fuckin' days.
-
It's the sequels job to look so good that I'm forced to finally finish the earlier game.
How soon is this coming out again? Oh shi-!
-
As we're nearing release I've been worried about something. Suda 51 has said that he made sure the game was more action focused due to fanbase feedback, I'm worried that this will lessen the comedic value of the first game. Yes, we're still gonna have humor (fighting a giant robot and a loli with robo arms is proof enough of this), but due to him saying NMH2 is going to be a lot more serious I think we're gonna lose a lot of that parody nature the first had.

I sure hope that doesn't happen, because the humor is practically half of what made me love the first game. The other half being the over-the-top action that sets my mind wild!
-
4 beam katanas?
Better A.I for bosses?
Multiple bosses rounds?
8 Bit mini games?the way you save though ….O.o
Looking at this game on the nintendo channel.. it looks cool
-
That's a whole point over what they gave the first game (7.8), so that's pretty good.
I am definitely getting this game as soon as humanly possible. Even if there aren't actually fifty boss fights, it's going to be as awesome or more than the first game.
-
Yep, I'm gonna be at GameStop at 10am on the 26th. I'm sure I could go to Walmart or something at midnight and get it, but nah.
-
got it set for the 26th for rental
( hopefully will be sent with the new Capcom game)
