The latest issue of Secret Six made my weekly reading session =3

I got Astonishing X-Men Vol. 5: Ghost Box today, haven't started reading yet. But I did finishing reading Marvel Civil War today. And damn, I have it was a great read all the through and my respects for Susan Storm. For the stunt she did by helping the Anti-registers escaping from the wrath of the Thor clone and I love the panel with nose bleeding showing that she is pissed at Reed.
But I will say it was great story arc all together. I think might have to pick up the Fantasic Four book for Civil war, because I thought their storyline was the most interesting part of the main Civil War book.

news about the spiderman marriage
“To what level do I have to debase myself to get Spider-Man and Mary Jane back together?” The fan then threw out a couple of suggestions, including “I’ll even take a guest spot on ‘Heroes.’”
Quesada smiled and acknowledged the controversial un-marrying of the couple; however, he added that they have no plans to undo the undone. The EIC explained, “We worked too hard to get Peter to this point. I can understand why some of you want to see the characters grow old, but we have to manage these characters for the future – a future beyond you and me. A married Peter Parker – as cool as that may seem – from a creative standpoint, it handcuffs the character. It’s a very problematic thing for Peter because it cuts him off and makes Peter the oldest person in the book.
“It’s very tough to write because you want to see Peter and M.J. happy, and in a book where, really at its crust, is a soap opera about Peter’s life, the minute he gets everything he wants and life is happy, the stories get boring. So how do you create [the conflict the drama needs]? You have Mary Jane and Peter butt heads. But now you’re dealing with a marriage that isn’t a very happy marriage and they’re constantly bickering. From a story standpoint, you’ve gotta trust me on this, it sucked writing.”so i guess divorce is worst than making a deal with the devil

Quesada is a fucking moron.

So, what do you think of JMS taking on Wonder Woman guys?
deep down inside, I hope he pulls a Thor on her.
I love Gail Simone and he Secret Six, but…. it just seems like she is trying to drag Wonder Woman from one thing to another(well, I can't put all the blame on her, DiDio was the editor) and it just doesn't work out very well.

I've enjoyed Simone's WW for the most part so far, but I so look forward to JMS writing her series. Hopefully it won't be as slow as his Thor run though
He's also reported to write Superman, so that's a double FUCK YEAH from me =D -
i think JMS will do better on Superman
specially since he is taking over after the War though im not really much into that anywaysat least is going to be a fast transition

And since he's also writing Earth Two, he won't try to pull any kryptonian totems.

Some news about Marvel June releases inculding the Origin Stories of Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk.
http://marvel.com/news/all.11721.first_look~colon~_june_2010_smashing_previews

I read Justice on Friday right through and one go and it was effing brilliant! A well crafted story and brilliant art.
-
FoLaG, your sig keeps bothering me. It's Osborn, not Osbourne. Norman's a scientist, not a Black Sabbath member.
-
Fixed. Although Osborne as a black metaller highly amuses me. A good scientist nicking some one else tech and relytying on psudo-bullshit to get into power eh though? Gods I hate that fucking prick, I'm looking forward to seeing him fall.
-
Your sig is still wrong… but oh, well.
Anyway, I finally got Clone Saga issue 6. It was good and made for a good shortening of the old comics. Harry Osborn being nuts brought back good memories.
Also got the new Web of Spider-Man. The Vulture short was great. The Henry Jones/ Ben Reilly bit was good, too, but I can't tell if it was supposed to be present day or in the past. Why can't they say "A few years ago" or something so I can know? I'm pretty sure Reilly is dead, but what with OMD reviving others and Kaine being back, I have no idea for sure.
-
Yeah I thought I had made a mistake again but I was too absorbed in Claymore's anime ending to do anything about it heh. But I have the BBC World Service in the background so it's sorted now!
Siege issue 3 was good, I can't be arsed to put spoiler tags here right now so I'm not gonna say why :p
-
@Friend:
Yeah I thought I had made a mistake again but I was too absorbed in Claymore's anime ending to do anything about it heh.
That ending is so strange. Especially looking at how much ridiculously stronger than everyone else Priscilla is even now. The lolwut of Clare matching her immediately after Rigaldo in Pieta is silly.
I don't get why they couldn't have just done the battle at Pieta as the manga had it and had the final episode be a nice cliffhanger with a 7 years later tease, leaving it open for the sequel anime.
-
Sorry I meant the actual music ending, the ending song lol. Not to worry I'm up to date on the manga so no spoilers affected me haha. I'm still gonna watch it through even though the ending is said to be pretty terrible.
-
So I saw an old guy today who had the name "Warren Angell". Pretty neat, huh?
-
Yeah it is, although I would be more impressed had he been called Remy Le Beau, or just as impressive En Sabuh Nur :p
-
So did blackest night finish yet?
Also, I read recently a issue of Wizard Magazine, anyone else read it? There was this 1 scene I forgot which comic it was from, it was w/ Sentry killing someone (literally by tearing him in half)
-
I have up to issue 7 of Blakest Night, but issue 8 could be out soon for all I know. The Sentry thing was in Siege issue 2.
-
Issue 8, the final issue, of Blackest Night comes out next Wednesday March 31st.
-
Hmm so British people should expect it either the day after or the following week.
-
@Jedi:
So did blackest night finish yet?
it ends next week though after that a new bi-weekly series named Brightest Day starts
Also, I read recently a issue of Wizard Magazine, anyone else read it? There was this 1 scene I forgot which comic it was from, it was w/ Sentry killing someone (literally by tearing him in half)
Sentry killed Ares on Siege 2, im so glad of it, that guy was so annoying
Siege completely blew for me :getlost:, first issue was Norman telling everyone he was invading Asgard, then everyone else replied ¨are you on crack?¨
then issue 2 was 100% 1 big fight with the death of Ares in the middleissue 3 was the worst, it was just a big large fight being commented by Barack Obama like it were a football game, then Norman lose and he end up having the face painted as the Green goblin, it shock at the first sight then one stops and thinks why the hell is he painted?
and at the end Sentry end up being some weird thing half crab/half insect/half that smoke monster on Losti just hope he dies on issue 4 and thats it
the only good thing about Siege, it had 7 years in the making but only lasted 4 months -
Sentry killed Ares on Siege 2, im so glad of it, that guy was so annoying
The Ares mini by Kireon Gillen was badass though, and so was his original mini.
I find that some writers write Ares as a jealous dick like in Incredible Hercules, but I liked him in the Avengers title and those minis. -
So Green Lantern 52 was badass but….I'm not sure how some people are going to take it. Geoff pretty much says that the origin of the universe is the Bible origin. Any further explanation is spoilers....unless someone wants me to explain.
-
I picked up the issues 1-3 of Siege and I'm honestly not at all impressed. I dunno, I think there are a lot of good ideas in it but it feels a little too much like Civil War but a lot more confined. I dunno, I'll probably pick up the next couple but I really wasn't digging it.
As far as Green Lantern 52, it was indeed badass. The choice for Avarice's creature had me effing floored!
-
i liked GL 52 but i still dont quite understand how exactly does that origin works
is like im missing a part or something -
In the DCU, earth has existed longer than in real life.
-
^that doesnt have any sense =/
i thinkanyways this is a good week for comics,
BN ends and Second Coming starts -
^that doesnt have any sense =/
i thinkRead Crisis on Infinite Earths, it explains it all. It's very dry in areas though.
-
Marvel and DC don't have to make sense. They will confuse their own storylines then rely on a miracle retcon to save the day. No sense of death meaning anything and fans will keep buying their stuff. Most of the stuff I like is either British creative teams or not considered part of continuity such as Elseworlds stuff.
-
I hate superhero comics, especially superheroes in Earth 616 and New Earth.
I used to like it. But the heroes never really die. They will come come back soon. If the storyline gets into a tight corner, or too dark, they will just "deus ex machina" it. Like One More Day. I stopped reading Spider-man after One More Day.
Civil War is based on Keene Act in Watchmen for sure, but it sucked. Iron man became a nazi fucker chasing his fellow heroes who didn't register down like dogs. After all they had been gone through, they now fought each other like stupid kids just because of a stupid act.
Final Crisis is the most stupid thing I ever read. Superboy prime is the lamest character ever.

[/hide]
Never-ending stories always suck.
There were good times back then, though. Like Kraven's last hunt. -
Tecnically Captain Marvel and New X-men are superhero, same for Astonishing X-men but they are good. If someone does do something interesting like Grant Morrison and the Xorn thing, they will retcon it back. Of course even within mainstream Marvel there is some great stuff like Thor and Runaways.
-
Read Hellblazer #265. Lmao Sid Vicious. And I still can't stop giggling at the synopsis:
In this new 2-part storyline, Constantine reluctantly becomes embroiled in a group of anarcho punks who worship a powerful effigy of Sid Vicious. Complicating matters further is an alchemist and a violent group of extreme political fixers.
And I love the cover this month.
!
!
THAT IS SOME FAN DEDICATION. -
That sounds fuckign mint. I might get Constantine when I can eventually afford it, along with Preacher.
-
Blackest Night 8 was excellent
-
Blackest Night 8 was excellent
I was a little dissapointed with how Johns handled Hal yet again.
But Black Hand, hot damn, that was creepy.
-
I guess you could consider the following Blackest Night spoilers.
! Jade returning and Deadman not being dead was shocking enough for me.
-
It was fine, nothing spectacular, I enjoyed it but it's hardly great writing, just adequate imo. Some very cheesy dialog courtesy of the Flash.
Having white Sinestro on the front and even worse in the foreground isn't good for people who don't want spoilers but walk into a comic shop and see the spoiler of the series in front of them.
I seen my friend by coincidence today and went back into the comic shop with him after I had just bought the issue on my own. He asked me if this was Black lantern Sinestro. I said no. He then asked if it was white lantern Sinestro, I wanted to say no but said yes because I could feel my facial expression was giving me away anyway.
It will be at least 2 years by the time I read Brightest day though, say 8 months at least for the individual issues, then like a few months for the trade and then a little while longer for me to build the funds to buy it while I'm struggling to survive in Japan.
At least the retcon was written away, that of Nekron claiming being behind all the ressurections. Of course that leaves us with other retcons, ie characters never properly dying. Hey ffs fans called Batman R.I.P Batman B.R.B lol. So we cannot really win, but we do have the power rangers corps now!
Heh before anyone slates me for being pessimistic, the power rangers were a cornerstone of my childhood, ergo I actually enjoy the coloured lantern thing, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with Blackest Night. Also I am a massive comics fan so I have a right to complain, that and I work in a comic shop so I have to be able to see the positive in comics including this one. Something I am fairly good at doing now heh.

Comic Book Resource gots a preview of World War Hulks #1.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=4796&disp=tableIt reveal somethings about the entire She-Hulk situation.

I guess you could consider the following Blackest Night spoilers.
! Jade returning and Deadman not being dead was shocking enough for me.
it was great if you compare it to other events on the last years
on other news
Greg Rucka leaves DC:sad:
http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?p=10890148#post10890148feel free to use this
http://nooooooooooooooo.com -
Here's what I wrote on comicbloc:
I am going to be quite honest and say I don't really care much about Batwoman but Greg's work with Renee Monotoya has been AMAZING to say the least.
Greg was also the reason I even bothered to pick up the Superman titles. I never even read a Superman book before "Rucka" appeared on the cover.
I'm really going to miss his work at DC but I can understand the need to break away from it.
-
i loved his Batwoman is a real shame
-
So that means Batman Reborn will have only one good series now, sigh.
-
Rucka is leaving DC?!?! Sad to hear, but I look forward to his return to writing for them.
