Problem is, that'd get boring as hell after a point. A comic with little dialogue about a garbage man in space. Unless it's a one-shot. Then it could work pretty well.
If it were a one-shot, I'd probably check it out.

That's what it would be, much bigger fan of shorter comics/graphic novels that are only about 120 pages. It would basically only describe things, it's space after all, and the guy is by himself. I'd want to show detail of the universe, rather than the person cruising around.
I also don't really find myself making a comic with conflict or fighting in it, unless it's realistically done. Superheroes, Villains, stuff like that are not my thing at all. I'll read it as long as it has believable scripting to it, rather than stuff like "I won't forgive you" or "Eat/Taste/ this!"
If I were to do a comic that had all the stuff I hate in it, it would definitly be something different, no young kids doing random shit, it would probably be a guy in his 40's who's otherwise some psycho on the inside, but only thinks his nasty dark thoughts, rather than acting on them. (totally not Dexter influenced)
Then what are you doing at a One Piece forum? ;)
But seriously, I dunno how well that would work, solely because audiences, by and large, care about characters and not settings. They don't give a shit about what worlds you make if there's no one interesting living in them. An entire comic of things being described around one dude by himself the entire time would sell all of one copy…
There are ways, though, that premise could work out fantastically.
Oh no no, lol I'm not actually planning on selling it, there's no way in hell that someone would buy it, especially in America. Just posting it over on one of the art forums I visit, where they care more about the emotion of the story's environment, rather than one person cramming in as many bad jokes into 1 panel as possible. I get what you're saying, I really do, but mine is more of a graphic documentary, rather than a story.
A good character makes a good story, true, but without many characters I plan on focusing more on the environment around him. It'll be boring to some, but I'm not doing it for anyone else but me. Not trying to be egotistic and throwing your advice away, I take all advice at heart, and to me you give some pretty good advice on this forum, just I don't plan on going that way.
@DanialG:
But I've never heard of Planetes before, 'll have to check it out.
I recommend it. It's a rather great comic. One of my Japanese favourites, actually. Animated adaptation wasn't bad either even if it was somewhat different. And at least I would probably read your comic. If it would be any good , that is.
I read a few comics like that before. One I remember was, "The Fountain". It was a really good romantic without the over the top cliches. The art was really nice too. I'm not sure how successful it is, but it was a good read/skim.
A school life story about a guy who gains the power to "see" personalities and uses his power to become the School King.
mines an adventure manga about a boy who's in search of his parents murderer with the help of a few friends which he gains over various trials and tribulations. So far it's 143 chapters only 61 are online at my smackjeeves site
Sounds interesting. What's the name of it?
I'm PUBLISHING a manga lol

Ah, well then good luck to you!
I'm content with just a little webcomic. Though I hope to have something as cool as gunnerkrigg one day, it's just been fun creating characters and writing them into story lines
My manga woud be about a guy that like sandviches, then he get's fat and he need's to go on a diet, is he going to make it? get slim like everybody else? or is he going to die of obesity

A white-knuckle ride, I'm sure.
Top notch thriller right there.
mine would be more cruel and gruesome then berserk and about finding the legendary place Shangrila, there are 2 expeditions. One is on this voyage to gain the powers that are supposed to be housed at shangrila according to legend and the second is a group of people in pursuit of these men that want to take over the world by using the powers of shangrila
It sucks, i know
my mangas about an otacku who sits at home on his computer reading manga all day then goes to sleep wakes up and repeats and its not a comedy
So basically a chronicle of everyone on this forum's lives?

I had an idea like that except the guy didn't want to go on a diet but enter eating contests
