In your post you insinuated that One Piece is a key to destroying the World Government, that Luffy as Pirate King is who will be needed to do it and Dragon is intent on helping him because they will eventually need to crush the Government together.

I never said Luffy wants to find something to destroy the World Government. I just said that Luffy´s and Dragons aims might be linked together. That doesn´t mean that they are the same.
And if you said that you "find it" utterly ridiculous then it´s my bad. It appears that I skipped that part totally. Sorry :(
However I feel the need to clear up a little misinterpretation. With my theory I didn´t mean that Luffy will walk around and try to crush the World Government with Dragon. Hell no! I don´t even think that they will work together. All I think is that in order that Dragon can achieve his goal, Luffy has to achieve his own.
The thing about the World Government itself and with that I mean the highest authority in the world, the Gorousei so far haven´t been established as neither good nor bad guys. They are just politicians. And we´ve already seen corrupt politicians so they could or could not be the same.
The fact is that in this WG there´s not only good kings. Cobra was a good one, Wapol not. So there´s neither to say whether the Gorousei prefer either one of the reign methods (sp?).
Other then that we´ve already seen that the guys from the government side don´t act that honorable all of the time.
- The Marine acts in the name of justice yet except for guys like Smoker and Tashigi many of the other marines seem to have a lack for sense of honor.
- CP9 acts in the name of justice and uses completely dishonorable methods to achieve their goal.
I´m just not so sure that the Gorousei themselves are that noble rulers as the people of the world would deserve it. And if they and I mean only them are really bad guys then Dragons ideal would actually be to free the world of their reign.
Another point is that they wanted to execute Tom just because he helped Gold Roger. It was clearly established that helping the Pirate King is a different crime then helping a normal pirate. Why so? Did Gold Roger achieve something that is a large thorn in the eye of the WG? I mean there´s plenty of pirates out there but Roger was so dangerous to them that helping him can´t be tolerated. They wanted to state an example on Tom. And my guess is that they wanted to state an example so that nobody ever helps again a pirate that appears to follow Roger´s steps.
You have to know that who has power always aims for more, politicians are no exception. And if they can´t get more they at least do everything to maintain their high status. And it would appear that whatever Gold Roger did, it was something that could mess with their status. That´s why he and everybody who helped him had to die.
Of course to a normal citizen it might appear that it was just the execution of the worlds greatest Pirate. But just as in the real world, do the normal citizens always get info on the governments real motivation?
Executing Roger was the WG´s move to bring an end to it. However eventhough with him dead there´s still the danger that what he achieved could be copied by another pirate. In order to not let that happen again, they want to state an example on Tom.
However before Roger dies his last words actually send thousands of pirates out to the sea to follow his footsteps. One of them might be the one to achieve what he did. And I think to Dragon Luffy seems to be the one who´ll do it, hence "The world is waiting for our answer."
I don´t say Luffy wants to change the world order. That´s not his intention. He wants an adventurous live as a pirate. But I´m saying that the path he has chosen to walk (or should I say to sail) is the one that will allow others (Dragon) to change the world. I mean that is what revolutionist´s do. They defy the government and aim to overthrow it to make the world a better place. No matter if they really make it better of if everything gets worse from there. Their ideal is to change it for the better.
And it´s not like it´s non-One Piece material to overthrow a government. Luffy already did it while he defeated Wapol. True it wasn´t his motivation to change Drum´s government, he just wanted to kick Wapols ass for being an asshole. But the point is that with defeating Wapol the consequence was that the country was fried of a tyrant leader and had the chance for a new beginning.
It already happened and I don´t see why it couldn´t happen again just in a far more comlex way that Luffy aids to get rid of the Gorousei. I don´t mean he has to fight them. I´m just saying that what he does could as a consequence rid the world of the five elder stars.
Getting rid of the government doesn´t mean to get rid of the people. The people of Drum were happy that Wapol was gone. Maybe same wouldn´t count for the people of the world if the Gorousei are gone.
As I said, I´m not trying to change your mind. I just want to back up my theory with the thoughts that went through my head in order to get to my statement.
Besides when I see a revolutionist who´s aim is it to overthrow the WG help a pirate in order that ge can achieve his dream to find One Piece and become Pirate King then my first assumption is that both interests have something in common. What other logic interpretation of that event is there anyway?
The Porneglyph´s, the Ancient Weapons, the True History Text, Nico Robin, Tom-san or the Gorousei are actually all things that came later, carefully added to the story by Oda.
And yet they support the theory that finding One Piece has something to do with changing the world order rather then that they negate it.
When I see so many things that all tie together then I just don´t see coincidence, I see intention from the author. It is Oda we are talking about after all. :D
