But it's worked okay for me so far, as you can see with the tie and shirt I posted._

My Davy Back belt looks a lot like that. Mine is a lot thinner though. Since the circles look yellow/goldish in the anime, I went over the circles with gold fabric paint. It turned out surprisingly well. I didn't think it would work that well.

Plus, I already had the belt in my closet. xD Yay for cheap cosplay. Most of my Davy Back costume is from my closet.

there's nothing wrong with being cheap, it's all for the good purpose.

Fin - OOooooh! That could be a good belt…definitely worth the trip to Walmart. I'll have to see. I had a few ideas on how to make it too, but I have so much other shit I need to make by Otakon, buying it might be better for my sanity ^_^* And thanks to Fin and Riksu.

Nurlock - very good job with the lines! Although, depending on the type sharpie, you might need to get it dry cleaned. I'd hate to see the shirt ruined with water.

Monty and I did Water 7 in black and red, before there were any color pictures available...we've been too lazy (and too attached to the colors) to redo em as of yet. One of these days...Although it might be fun to do a multicolor Water 7 shoot, because I know other people did their own color schemes too! Anyway, take pictures of the costumes! =o! I wish I could go to Metro, but I'd probably die of stress with another con so soon after Anime Next. Plus it's so far ;_; Oh well...there's still Otakon!

And yeah...the LuffyxSanji yaoi was a combination of hilariousness and scariness. The image of Chris/Luffy in a dress is forever burned in my memory...

Yeah, my original Sanji (blue) has been washed a few times by now, but the only thing is the lines have faded a little bit. Nothing that can't easily be fixed again.

Well, I finished my Water 7 Sanji outfit for Anime-Expo today. I rather like how it turned out, although the glasses and brown hair don't do so well for sanji. Ah well.

I made the undershirt by dyeing a White dress shirt, the vest by taking a black dress shirt and mutilating it, and the pants and shoes were stuff I had before. The "Cigarette" is a eyebrow pencil used to draw that really crappy spiral.

Here are links to a few pics. Tell me what you think; it's only my second cosplay so far, but leaps and bounds beyond my uber-ghetto luffy from last year.

Spiffy job Himizujin. Great work, How long did it take you to make the overtop/shirt?

Several hours; My mother helped me out with the hemming of the sleeve since I'm still a novice at sewing (look at me, junior in college and still getting my mom to help me out with things like this,) but I still was at least able to sew on the buttons. The original buttons were half the size, so we had to make the button holes larger as well.

Hey, I like the One Piece stuff here. Fin-Fish, you look a lot like Lucci… even with the pigeon, too. It's a very uncanny look. I've just started reading this part, too... and now I get the feeling that you could possibly be the real deal.

As for you, Usopp.. well, I only wish I'd seen the skit. It sounded great.. makes me sad that all you Americans get these cool conventions to attend, over there! - Very impressive outfits, and is that your little brother as Luffy? - Haha. The Alvida picture was priceless.

Oh, and you make an excellent Usopp, too!

Me? - I'd like to see some more Water 7 cosplay, and I'd even like to see someone do Foxy with his pimp coat on, and the spiked boxing gloves.

That'd just about be enough to blow me away.

I wish that I could show you all the skit. But my dad forgot to bring the video camera. And even if he did, we don't have any video downloading equipment. Maybe someone else taped it and will post it on another forum or website. But I can promise you some better pictures later this week.
