Oh, man. This episode was fantastic! I've been waiting for this episode ever since the manga chapter came out around a year ago and, wow, Toei sure didn't let me down. Absolutely magnificent!

is it just me or is the animation and art way better than in the last few episodes?

234, 235 and 236 have had great animation. 232, 233 and the upcoming 237 have less good animation/drawings. They keep their best teams for the most important parts of the show. Also, taking a week off now and then helps a lot. Not many bad episodes like other series (Naruto for instance).
This episode was great (except for the many flashbacks before the fight). Much action, very entertaining pace and sad ending (with Luffy crying for the second time of the manga - first time was when Shanks lost his arm). This duel is an instant classic (just like Afro Luffy, Mr.Prince or the march towards Arlong Park were). I love this show.
They revealed Franky's face in the preview… Not very smart.

[snapback]72824[/snapback]Well, it's just like a few episodes back (I don't remember which exactly) when they let Kaku say the entire line about the ship not being able to be repaired in the preview for the next episode. Kind of ruins the surprise for the next episode.

Well, the only good thing about it is that we now are sure next episode is gonna feature two whole manga chapters (334-335). Probably will end with Iceburg's revelation. Which means episodes 238 and 239 will cover the next battle I'm really waiting for.
8 episodes in Water Seven already (12 manga chapters covered), and still almost no fillers at all. I'm quite happy about the way they're handling this arc.

Just to correct myself, they used 'Mother Sea' at the 12 minute mark. It's actually 'Because we're alive' from the Movie 4 soundtrack that takes the episode out.
Both somber piano themes, got them confused. :P

I was surprised to pick up the Luffy one actually. I have no clue what track it would be on though (to my knowledge I've got nearly every OP OST, which is somewhat of a detriment since I don't know which track is which most of the time :lol: ) but if I can find it I'll spring for that \o.

I don't usually download raw episodes, but I decided already quite a while ago I'd make an exception for this episode.
And… Wow. Got me all misty-eyed and stuff. The music was really well placed here and the animation rocked.
My only drawback is Kappei Yamaguchi sort of over-acting (Which is quite the accomplishment considering who he's voicing), especially in the beginning. Though, Mayumi Tanaka and all the rest more than make up for that tiny flaw.

I thought he did a much better job here than in the last episode. Which seemed to be shown in entirety before the actual fight.

I use fraps, but just hitting print screen works just as well.

Fraps? Hmm I'll look into that thanks :) Also the print screen doesn't work as it there when you have the movie up but once its gone or it plays it changes to that scene or just black :P

Well, this episode made me tear up. But I think it felt really dragged out at the beginning… Luffy and Usopp were staring at each other for like 10 minutes. And it felt weird how they used the same flashbacks over and over.
But it was still awesome. Man, the ending has so much pressure.

^^Yep, either use the default or assign a specific hotkey & just hit it while the video file is playing.
Heh, just going on what Carter said, notice it took 5 minutes & 40 seconds to reach the episode title! is it me or is that taking just a little too long to start getting into the actual episode? :unsure:
2 minutes for the OP/Sponsor shout, 3:40 for the recap, then straight into a minute of flashback. :lol:
(For comparison's sake: ep.235 - 3 minutes ~ ep.234 - 3:30 ~ ep.233 - 3 minutes to reach the episode title)
