@Gekko135:
wow there are some good people online. I'm too used to fighting my friends casually in these types of games. Now I have to get decent at dealing with turtling. It's somewhat irritating when your opponent is on the defense the entire match and only waits for you to throw out moves that he/she'll block and counter, sticking mostly to sweeps and the like.
real irritating.
yo Tizoc, any good tips on dealing with these fools?
I know there are ways around it (like not sucking), but it just gets old after like the 5th loss in a row. I've had as many as around 1000 battle points… and since then it's dropped (and remained) around the 400-500 range. I've played nearly two days straight and I feel i'm not getting any better. But I'm sure that'll change the more i play
Well against Ken players online, study this chart-
For those that defend a lot, or turtle as the term is often known as, try to bait them to attack. From far away cancel Focus Attacks by dashing backwards or forward. You are invincible from some attacks during back dashes with most of the cast so use this to your advantage.
Focus attack is also good if you manged to get in close whether to hit them or let them whiff attacks.
Try using 'pressure strings' as well, such as doing a few LPs or LKs on them, this can sometimes set up for a throw. After a throw try either doing a jumping attack or force them to whiff an attack and punish their mistake. Do note that the jumping attack should be a Cross-up; do a jumping attack so that it hits them from behind, usually this can be achieved from an early jump before your opponent's character fully stands up.
I understand the time taken to learn a game or character, I needed weeks before I fully learned Garou and Real Bout 2, but after that I fully enjoyed the game and playing it online on 2DF with whomever I can challenge :)
Who are you using BTW? I can look for some more proper strategies if you narrow down the characters you use.
EDIT: Oh and Rose seems to be anti-ryu and ken, etc. you got Soul Reflect and good pokes, Ultra is great to catch them within distance if they fireball you.
