I refuse to believe that Rasiel will go down like that. Its a bit weird that Xanxus is compared to the 2nd Vongola Boss when he does not even have the vongola blood. The sudden introduction of the flame of wrath which has the storm attribute was kinda confusing, and it may have a possible 'plot hole' during the ring conflict fight between Tsuna and Xanxus.
Katekyo Hitman REBORN! Discussion

Xanxus has always used the flame of wrath and been compared to the second. It's what lets him use the flame without a weapon and the second was the one who orginally used it.
-
there was no sudden introduction to the flame of wrath. Re-read the fight between Sawada Tsunayoshi vs. XANXUS.
-
No as in the introduction of the flame of wrath that acts abit like the storm attribute. They introduced it this chapter. It was my sentence sturcture that was poorly done, sorry.
-
Personally I think that was just poorly worded. After all Gokudera has 5 different flames so why can't xanxus who sky and therefore has attrubites of all seven not have access to storm as well.
-
Sorry about that. I was thinking if Xanxus flame of wrath is also of storm attribute, wouldn't it degenerate on Tsuna when Xanxus land a hit on Tsuna in the ring conflict?
Edit: Wait did Xanxus ever land a hit on Tsuna in the ring conflict? -
He probably didn't have it back then. Remember, he was frozen for 8 years, so this could have been a recent development.
The first person we actually saw with dual elements was Lal Mirch, so this is just a theory, but… Do you think exposure to Viper's pacifier could have enabled the dual flame ability?
-

I don't think so,but then again anything can happen. Guess i'll think of this whole thing as something that the mangaka decided to add half-way ,unless Amano-Sensei decides to explain this a few chapters later, or that its such a minor detail that nobody really cares.

Edit: Wait did Xanxus ever land a hit on Tsuna in the ring conflict?Xanxus never really got a decent hit on Tsuna. There was the strike when it incinerated his flame-proof vest. But everything after that was really dodged or absorbed by the ZPBT Revised. It does kinda make sense though. THe Flame of Wrath has the greatest attack capabilities and literally turns things to ash almost instantly (i.e. http://www.onemanga.com/Katekyo_Hitman_Reborn/126/11/ and then http://www.onemanga.com/Katekyo_Hitman_Reborn/126/12/). The unique sky flames could hold similarites to other flames, and the ring flames are pure harmony sky flames. Mixing the ring flame and the natural flame may create dual attributes. Tsuna does have two kinds of flames, his soft flame and the hard flame (lightning?). Itd be crazy to add the two together.
Also, will Tsuna ever have his own box weapon. Itd probably be something insignificant like a sky mouse but turn out to be really effective.

It'll be the Sky Clam. Duh.
-
Since his ring modifys the gloves I doubt it.

Ah okay thanks ,it makes alot of sense. It does help clarify alot.
I think that Tsuna maybe getting a animal them box weapon that represents him. -
I'm going to take a shot in the dark about Tsuna's box weapon. It'll be something sky/flying-related, like a pheonix.
Although I do like the idea of a sky clam.
-
So far all the guardian's animal box weapon seems to be similar in some way to the user. Wonder what animal Tsuna's represent. Maybe it'll be a animal thats usually harmless.

That's why I'm pretty much sure it's a sky clam. After all, Vongola means Clam in Italian. Plus, it's something that protects itself rather than fight directly.

Huh, I didn't know that…but anyway thats a really good prediction I think. It might be awhile before we see his box weapon though.
-
ok im reading reborn right now im on chapter 22 and im curious when does it get better. i just want to know because right now im not that impressed
edit never mind its getting better after 2 ch -

really? but I guess your right in that it would portray his character good
-
new chapter is and i gotta say kind of surprised.i didnt see that happening
-
HOLY SHIT!! this chapter was fucking awesome, they all went to hell and back and just to find out that they were fighting imposters. Now that's a bitch.
-
Damn freaking nice!!!!!Another twist, im just loving it, totally not what i expected. The moment they revealed that Rasiel is a fake, i kinda give up on him. The only thing i don't like is that there be a tournament coming up where Milli vs Vongola guardians and Varia.
The guy who looks like Gamma, i wonder if he's the REAL Gamma.( If the one we saw is a fake) -
Awesome chapter!
-
Good chapter, but doesn't anyone find it strange that all the REAL funeral wreaths are Black Spell? Or they could just all be wearing black, I guess…
The guy in the upper right kind of looks like Shamal. That would be a neat twist; Shamal never said he worked for the Vongola, he was just the family doctor for Bianchi and Gokudera's father, right? So it would be kind of a "F-you, I'm going with the winning team" slap in the face to the Vongola if he did that.
And it'd be interesting if that girl is Uni without her pacifier.
-
I get the feeling that some of the fake funeral wreaths will end up joining Sawada's side. The one I can see switching sides easily would have to be gamma. Giving his backstory of course.
-
Ugh Gamma better not join. Especially since I could see some gay plot twist throwing Lambo to the side for this arc and letting him use the Thunder Ring.
It's twists like these though that make me wish there was no freaking ring/box system going down and it was just straight up shonen beat-em-up action going down. I wouldn't mind all the fights if I could understand them.
-
motherfuck for christs sake
he just keeps adding on things to make this arc even LONGER
for christ's sake -
That's because she has no idea where to go after this.
I can't see anything happening after this. I think it really hit it's worst once Tsuna fought the Gola Mosca thing. And then the HORRID Genkishi fight.
-

To be fair, I really don't think there is anything over-complicated or difficult to understand about these box fights.
Maybe I'm just a genius though^_^ lol
-
Anything that requires remembering 21 different rules and properties and mumbo jumbo just to understand how a fight works is overly complicated.
I tend to think HxH is pretty complicated too, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. It's not that it's just complicated, it's stupid. The author obviously felt trapped without some kind of ki/energy/chi system and just threw that into the Future arc instead of making it come out of nowhere.
-
First Fairy Tail now this D:
Slowly one by one my mangas are falling victim to bad plot twists and annoying battles.Who knows when this arc will end, with a whole new set of Byakuran bitches. I really just wish Dino would come and pwn the entire Milleflore so they can go home and get on with another arc. I hope we don't see Tsuna turn into Goku and go power lvl after power lvl and villain after villain.
Seems Dino is my last hope….
-
The boxes were a gigantic fuckup.
HXH is complicated, but understandable at the same time.
Reborn! on the other hand is confusing as fuck.
Also people need to stop saying "Maybe other people are just stupid and I'm a genius lol," when someone says a manga is confusing and retarded. -
So…. Everything in this arc so far... was a fake? Merely a training gauntlet of enemy mobs? I wished this arc started at this point now, for some reason. It was a pretty long stall.
-
Isn't that just bias though? I actually find HunterxHunter more confusing than Reborn and I like both series about the same.
-

I'm wonderong, just what is complicated about HxH anyway? Was it Greed island? Nen in general?
Honestly I stopped reading this series by the Genkishi fight and stuck to just reading this thread. Not only are the boxes confusing but the fights themselves are boring as fuck now. It feels like a random game of Yu-Gi-Oh now. "I SUMMON DA SQUALO SHARK!" "U FELL FOR MY TRAP, ACTIVATE RING FLAME!"
-
The Reborn! system requires an understanding of very vague terms, and a gay elemental system in which the flames are all so similar it doesn't even matter.
Once the properties of each flame got introduced, it just went down hill. At first when it was just animals flying out of boxes, I thought it was lame, but now it's just dumb. Especially having Gokudera's entire moveset based off of Rings/Boxes now. His initial charm was LOTS OF BOMBS and now that's gone.
The only ability I found confusing in HxH was Potclean, but that's all cleared up now, and now it's just an intelligently complicated energy system, which is one of the reasons the series is so incredible. It leagues above Ki, Chakra and Reiatsu. (DBZ, Naruto, Bleach)

HunterxHunter is way more guilty of ripping off Yugioh then Reborn will ever be.

But you just said that you find it complicated. But whatever, it's all opinion anyway^^

….Oh.....
Because they're using cards right?
-
@SSM:
….Oh.....
Because they're using cards right?
That and most of the arc was dedicated to a bunch of boring magic and spell card talk. I mean they were talking about "We need to collect these cards" and "If we just get that exact card!!!" It was like reading about some card game nerds discussing their collections not to mention I didn't even understand what they were going on about with all those cards. I found it extremely boring and it took up almost the entire arc.
Greed island was definitely the worst arc of the series for me though it did have its moments like the Volleyball match and the Gon vs Bomber battle(though Bomber was a failure of a character in my eyes compared to Togashi's amazing characterization skills).
-
Ah, I see then.
It did kind of irk me how the card system was that detailed to only last for one arc. which is probably why the future arc is being prolonged now by this plot twist in KHR. I guess if you spend chapter after chapter explaining this shitty system you may as well use it.
-
@Thousand:
But you just said that you find it complicated. But whatever, it's all opinion anyway^^
…. are you serious?
-
…. are you serious?
Erm yes, why wouldn't I be?O_O
@SSM, it's not that it was too detailed but that the card talk was boring:/ I was actually excited when it was first introduced. I thought it would be a wicked entertaining system with tons of uses. Till I found out that all it amounted to was just a bunch of random card-stealing and swapping.
-
@Thousand:
Erm yes, why wouldn't I be?O_O

Don't feed the trolls, they don't listen and only type with their e-peen. All you're doing is giving Moria a raging e-boner by acknowledging him.
I think the series is fine. It's no different from any other standard Shonen Series. You're comparing it to Hunter X Hunter, but the art from HxH is hideous. It's still a good series.
All series have their flaws.

Actually I noticed his attempts of witty irony from the moment he copied my post but rather than ignore him or insult him(which I know what he was hoping for since apart from annoying people giving him thrills, my optimism and positive outlook must be sickening to him), I decided to experiment a little and deconstruct his mental psyche with a few mind games to see his reaction. T'was fun
