I am not against evolution. I do believe in natural selection. But its a fact that Darwin's Theory of Evolution is exactly that - a theory. It's not a Law, and has been disputed against by scientists, with other theories (none of them has to do anything with god).

I could say that inspite of millions of years of evolution, homo sapiens are physically one of the weakest species. Cockroaches have survived for millions of years almost without too much change, and will probably outlive us. We, who are so proud of a superior intelligence, find ourselves at our wit's end in front of a mere tsunami or a hurricane, whereas algaes and other creatures have survived Ice Ages and meteor shower and what not.

And different creatures have different ways of adapting to the same situation. They have different ways to achieve the same goal.

My theory is that we can't really percieve how a human life is balanced, you don't know if someone was good their whole life but then died, if their death was their fault. You can't tell if something's a trial or a punishment or a reward or an oppurtunity if the person chooses their own path. Certainly if a personal God exists, we can't percieve it, just like we can't percieve if a situation is inhereantly bad or good, becasue we can't understand it completely.
It does seem though that most people can have beliefs of a kind where there are things they can't understand that affect the world, like soul and such. It's interesting, really… Maybe the topic's not so bad.

Have you read all my posts in this thread? I don't think you got what i'm trying to say. I don't believe in any god. But i think that religions can help people to build up a community which can live in harmony. The principle of the major religions in this world are basically the same. And they exists to consolide this community. That's what i find good. My idea is that the religion must come with something called god and something like paradise and hell so that the people are "forced" to follow the commandements. You musn't lie otherwise it's a sin and a sinner land in hell. But we know that humans are not perfect. So even a religious may fall to the temptation. But for that the religion has still something. Mostly you can purify yourself if you promise that you will not do it again in the future or work hard on it. Again the religious people follow that so that they can go to paradise. If they don't follow the commandements then the religion is meaningless.

But they did. Maybe not in as much details as we do now, but they knew quite a bit. And its almost unanimous that appenix is a vestigial organ - some say its the remnant of a previous body structure, and will probably be shed (along with earlobes and nasal cartilage) eventually, as homo sapiens evolve into something else.

There are lots of scientific truth in age-old customs. People just did certain things by experience, and without knowing the reason behind it.

Our ancestors knew it was bad to sleep under trees at night. People could get ill, or feel ill if they slept under trees at night. I was told as a child that "ghosts" will enter your body if you sleep under a tree at night. Of course, it was just a way to explain things to a child, who wouldn't understand photosynthesis at the time.

I do. And, I laugh. People love to live in a fool's paradise. Gives them a peace of mind. People like to have the comfort that someone is looking after them. When they are kids, they looked upto their parents for protection. when they grow up they look upto this God-figure for protection. Never gonna help anyone anyway.

And, the "evidences" are not evidences. Evidence is something that proves that certain speculation is true. And, all the evidence theists come up with are something like "how do you explain this? you cannot, see? So, this is so because God made it." You start off by assuming God exists, then warp every unexplained thing and tag it to God and say this proves God exists.

You love to use cyclic logic. You start off believing that God created "X" , and ask rational people how "X' is created. Then, if they cannot answer, or say that they dont know, you come up with "God created "X" must be true, becasue He said so, and there is no other explanation against it."

And there is one rule, God does not burden a soul more than it can take. Some people can handle more burden than you, and the people who get bad diseases have bigger souls than you.
Paradise have a 7-level floors...And they are really different. but the lowest level = If you had the whole planet earth and it's contents for you that would be 1% of it.

You know that god washes away your sins when you are sick, even if you had a simple cold.

No offense but this is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Make nothing out of a current life? There's many things that can make it worth it (happiness, love, friends, family, etc.).

Once again, I'm bringing up this point, you read in the bible, written by MEN. Also, I don't mean to offend, but they could have easily made up this religion. For example, L. Ron Hubbard created Scientology, and we all know that it obviously doesn't exist. Why? There's been predictions of stuff that happens that NEVER has happened (ex. aliens coming to the earth for 3 days about a month ago, they even said they were supposed to be clearly visible by all). Just because the Bible has not made any SET DATE predictions to happen in the last thousand or so years (so it sounds like it could be somewhat plausible), doesn't mean its real. That's just an easy way to cover up a lie because its easy to work around it by saying stuff like "Eventually, the World Will End." Yes of course, but not by 4 Horsemen or anything religious. It WILL end sometime in the next thousand years, I am positive about that, but from something like Global Warming. I mean, these men who wrote the Bible most likely wrote it because, well, by spreading a religion, they could get pretty damn popular. I mean, hell, look at Peter, he claims he saw Jesus (it may have been God, I'm not sure, don't quote me on this), was anyone else there with him? Was there a crowd of people who also saw the same thing? I mean, almost everyone knows of Saint Peter the Apostle now, known for basically spreading the entire religion of Christianity across the entire Eastern World. Hell, if he never existed, Christianity would be NOWHERE near as popular as it today.

Only, and ONLY if I saw God come down to me and personally speak to me, would I believe it. This Bible was written thousands of thousands of years ago, and yes, it does have some decent morals in it, but it makes so many blatant and obvious predictions of the future, that people assume it's real. Half the people I know (well, more are turning Atheist/agnostic) used to be religious, but hell, they've prayed before, multiple times, and God has never done anything. Most religious people's response "this is all part of God's BIG PLAN." What the hell is it then? I'm pretty damn sure it wasn't as you said "just to get by this worthless life," because, to be honest, when nothing happens after you die, you'd probably feel like you just wasted a whole lot of your time (assuming you feel anything that is).

You're implying that family friends won't help you to go to paradise and paradise seems to be your ultimative goal. But i now don't think that you got what you religion is trying to teach you... Family is important friends also. Every living creature is important. And you must learn it in order to reach your paradise.
I hope that you don't want to try so hard to reach your paradise that you become blind to what is really important... Life is important! Love is also important. Your life is over the recording of good and bad deeds stops the moment you die...Your Good and Bad deeds are written on a scroll, if your Bad deeds overcome your Good Deeds...Nothing from the above will help you.

When a human kills an ant, or kills what they feel is insignificant doesn't it count as killing ? the bible says one should never lie….but if you were a Jew in the holocaust era and you had to change your name to save yourself isn't that the same as lying.

When you die and your life ends, you get nothing to take with you from your current life. So it's worthless if I put all my handwork ONLY to make a better future in my current life, which is useless.

Why did God make him die so quick? Why the fuck did he have all of his friends and family (including me) go through so much pain? And I think my friend is dead. That's it. Hell, if God wanted me to suffer this much, he's sort of a jerk. He ATLEAST could have sent my friend down as a vision saying that he's alright, but he didn't. So my friend is dead. He died like most people do, not part of God's Big Plan, or to save him from some more painful death he would have later on. He just died.

Also, no its literally impossible to prove God doesn't exist. It's impossibly to prove he DOES exist though.

What sounds more plausible? After you die, you cease to exist altogether, or after you die, a huge overwhelming being of perfection that controls everything in which the universe is just a story that he's creating takes you up to his paradise, where you can be happy forever?

there is nothing after death. Your brain stops to work and …. nothing. That's what many humans cannot
