RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
Perfect mix of humor, violence, and wholesomeness. This is what OP is about. Not Sabo, Garp, and Shanks for 8 chapters.

RE: Season 1 General Discussion
A couple segments from Variety
“We’ve got scripts ready,” Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, which produces the live-action “One Piece” in partnership with manga creator Eiichiro Oda and publisher Shueisha, told Variety Thursday.
“Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility,” Clements said. “Somewhere between a year and 18 months, we could be ready for air.”
“They keep it, as you know, close to the vest until post-launch,” Clements said. “But with Netflix’s support of the title, we expected it to be number one and we sensed their research and algorithms probably saw the possibility for that. But in our subsequent calls post-launch, we have been told that we have exceeded expectations, which is also fantastic.”
Netflix did not respond to request for comment on status of a “One Piece” Season 2 renewal.
The win is a big one for Tomorrow Studios, which suffered a less than successful launch of its live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop” for Netflix, with that series being canceled less than a month after it premiered in 2021. The execs expect a better fate for “One Piece.”
“I think [Netflix is] looking at various situations about how many episodes they do, do they break them up?” Adelstein said. “I think they’re trying to figure that out this week. I suspect we’ll hear from them in the next week to two weeks. There seems to be a big impetus to keep this going and to come up with a long-term strategy. So we’re just waiting for that.”

RE: The ways Orochi's existence wrecks the manga. (SPOILERS)
Orochi was 1 of the GOATs of the arc.
Not his fault Kaido took so much time to become a decent character.
Spandem is a better character than Lucci, but i'm not gonna blame him for Oda's inability to make Lucci more likeable.

RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
I don't remember Sanji fighting to liberate the Germa Clones. He was just disgusted by it. I don't see the point of showing any of the crew's displeasure of Seraphim or any Pacifista yet if they aren't going to actively stop big bad VP.

RE: Chapter 1107: I've Been Looking For You!!
@Razh I don't see any reason to do more than what Oda did in Wano for Zoro. I was waiting to see if this was his arc in some way because of a 1 dimensional reason of being a swordsman.
To find out his family has more immediate importance after they left and established his village just makes it more of a point that Shimotsuki Village is more of homeland than Wano was.
Wano is just another piece to the puzzle of his lessons. It does not beat Shimotsuki out for his homeland. Try convincing Luffy that this Nika stuff is more important than what he experienced growing up under Dadan with Ace/Sabo.
Even for Sanji in WCI arc, his principles and values from Zeff are more priority than his blood kin. Most of the things driving him and resolutions were based on what he got from the Baratie and the split page of Zeff and him ended the arc.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 10 - Egghead)
Zoro is a weirdo gatekeeper. Could have kept it to "you helped our captain, thanks". Instead, he had to add "get off now". One day, there will be a discussion about his manners. Just a nasty individual. Some fans think it's cute to be mean like that.
Caribou is an honored guest. He survived attacks from Drake and Pekoms. Let him enjoy some Sunny time.

RE: Season 2 (and Beyond?) Speculation Thread (Spoilers)
@MugiMikey This was my initial thought, but I backed off of it. Including Goldenweek makes me want to revisit that.

@Kitsune-Inferno You sound like me before the show came on. I can't refute what you said. I get it.

RE: Season 2 (and Beyond?) Speculation Thread (Spoilers)
Everything i've seen talked about before this series was announced and up until it was released has become a huge back and forth as far as what is covered and how to manage the episode count.
I see the GrandLine guy being called negative for things that I believe are real concerns. Will Logue Town be covered and if so, will you finish Alabasta saga in this second season?
I preferred the 1st season stop at Baratie before watching. After watching, I was okay with where they went to. My reasoning was this cliffhanger with Nami being gone + all the mess with Sanji's story/Zoro vs Mihawk/defeating Krieg would have suffice as a great ending. They turned Garp and the Koby meter up and turned Krieg down to adjust and I find that cool from a writing perspective. Looking at the story today, Koby is a big part of the future. Enhancing his involvement for EB Saga is a great choice.
I still really like the Krieg source material, but it is a fair trade.
I still think there should be a sort of preview to Alabasta arc and most of S2 should be Ace/preview of BW/Smoker/Vivi. What do you change here? Enhance Robin more? My concern with Alabasta is that it is a Civil War, Marines are chasing the crew, exploration of the desert/casino/palace and most importantly introduction of PG.
I'm all about writers doubling down or being daring. Do you make a huge move and pull PGs out completely lol? They haven't done that before, but something up that alley would be impressive. Something so huge for Robin and the world, just removed completely. Anything is possible, this is just an example and not a preference.
To me, it is not chapter count. It is content. The crew don't need the Rain Dinners conflict, chase through Nanohana, or the Toto subplot to showcase Alabasta's endurance. The rest of the content is necessary.
As far as fights, this show has done well to display them and they play around the same segment. The 1st PG that unleashes a bag of worms for the story is just a big deal. On top of that, do you even use the bomb?

RE: One Piece anime remake by Wit Studio
Recruitment
As far as a seasonal remake, not a bad idea at all. Wit is a dope studio too.
East Blue Saga is 61 episodes. Take out the filler and it is 51 episodes. As a weekly production, OP has done well by having filler to give animators time.
As a seasonal production by Wit, that 51 can become 26-32 ish. East Blue Saga cover about 2 chapters per episode due to being weekly and most are used to seasonal anime that cover 3-4 chapters per ep.
32 episodes would be 3 chapters and some change per episode due to Logue Town arc ending at chapter 100.
1st 3 sagas based on chapter count
EB Saga - 30-32 episodes (100 ch.)
Alabasta Saga - 35-38 episodes (117 ch) as opposed to 67 episodes from Toei
Skypiea Saga - 28 episodes (85 ch) as Toei made 52 episodes

RE: Volume 109 Predictions/Discussion
For 107 and 108, I was way off. I still think it is funny that Jack never made a cover for Wano.
I think this might be the first cover with Luffy at that age. That would be interesting as Oda mostly pushes Luffy into covers when I prefer he not. Kuma, Bonney, VP, and Saturn. I think they take center stage.

RE: Chapter 1114: The Wings of Icarus
I have to respect York at this point. She was positioned by Oda as the clone that just eats and craps for the rest. Now she is working so hard, so she can eat and crap way more lavishly.

RE: Chapter 1114: The Wings of Icarus
I like what Oda continues to show with the Gorosei really being 1 band, 1 sound. I rarely see groups like this in fiction. Especially on the antagonist side. Usually 1 or a few shows discomfort or faltering. They have consistently been together on everything. Rarely see one castigate the other much. They are unified.
The great thing about that is to see what makes them break or do they stay like that till they fail collectively. Since their introduction, they've spoken to each other like 1 person talking to themselves. Some chapters earlier, I wondered if they could communicate like Zunisha to Momo. If there was some device involved, Oda would use a different box I think.
I already think there will be some hologram use to mess with them at some point, but I recently thought of how they've been towered (Punk Records and Mother Flame) and if a hologram could do that.

RE: Chapter 1114: The Wings of Icarus
Fans making a fuss over Yamato being Oden while those close to Oden don't really mind.
Oden's route in the flashback. Capital - Hakumai - Ringo - Kibi - Udon - Kuri
Maybe he meets Onimaru. Capital - Kibi - Kuri - Udon - Hakumai to drop off the sword - Ringo - Capital. If he meets Onimaru, it is after the sword is delivered.
I think Yamato helps preview the new daimyo of each region and also a preview of the future of Wano from the Beast Pirates being useful, change of how people treat some who are different, etc. Might even meet some outsiders. A lot of these cover stories have some new characters that are new to the story. I didn't see Grus being a key character later on.
The shortest story has to be like 15 or 16 chapters, so this might have at least 12 more covers left.
