I've read many of the posts in the thread, but I am still wondering… If Vinsmokes are mafia/underworld family, how could they change Sanji's poster to "Alive only"? It's not a coincidence also that Alive only went together with his 1st real picture in a wanted poster, meaning that his family has access to such info prior to his new wanted poster with his real photo went public. If they are indeed part of the underworld, with no relation to the world nobles, then isn't it safe to assume that they must have classified information that would threaten the World Nobles if it went public?

RE: Chapter 800: Follower Sake Cup
Those fujitora panels with fujitora's words moved me a little bit!!! Also, fuji "WTF" face was hilarious! Other than that, the story progressed in a rather expected way, although not to that extend. It followed luffy's character after all! I hope we get back to sanji & co and maybe a glimpse of kaidou with kid & co, although i doubt it :getlost:

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Kaidou having a mythical Zoan type fits because he rules over all his artificial Zoan types. It also makes Shanks the only non-Devil fruit user, and therefore twice as awesome as before.
I do think Kaidou is an oni, whether he has the oni-oni no mi or not (he could just be an oni race or something). Based off the the wikipedia page for oni, the following characteristics fit:
- Momotaro -> Momonosuke
- Monkeys are used to dispel onis -> Monkey D Luffy defeating Kaidou
- "oni with an iron club" (鬼に金棒 oni-ni-kanabō?) -> very strong/invincible
- two large horns
New to the forum so it's probably a well-established theory, but quick search through this thread didn't yield much.
My "theory" is that Kaidou was originally just a very strong lone wolf who was given by Whitebeard the Oni-Oni no Mi which has cursed him with immortality in an attempt to defeat Roger (who he could not defeat). I do think the Dragon fruit has more evidence to support it at this stage.
Hello and welcome aboard!
You better check this thread out, because there is a seperate thread about the Kaido dragon DF theory -
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
I was wondering how Doflamingo learned the secret of Mariejois' treasure… I doubt that all noble families know about it. Were the Donquixotes higher in the ranks of the noble or special in some kind of way? What I tend to believe is that Doflaming learned about it from a trustworthy person. I doubt it that he sneaked in or that he learned about it when he was little...
What are your thoughts about this matter?

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Probably been said but…
Keeping the tradition of every devil fruit Blackbeard takes for himself is related to a Yonkou, he'll steal Kaido's fruit when he dies.I am really curious if Oda-sensei will make the other hax DF (the first one being Yami-yami no mi), Ope-ope no mi, have some hax ability that can neutralize BB's DF absoption and maybe make him lose the DFs' powers he asimilated… Although that's high unlikely, i would like him to get a bit nerfed, so as to piss BB off :D

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
I believe that Dofla won't bother us again, or anytime soon… With Tenryuubito and one of the Yonko after your life, it's kinda difficult to keep your connections, knowing that if they (your connections) help you , they will make the same enemies you have (Kaido, Tenryuubito) :P My only bet is if Mingo has arranged it in a way that if something happened to him (die) the truth about the treasure of Mariejois would be revieled to everyone. It does look like a thing that Doffy would do, after all... As for the discussion about Doffy getting handicapped, I highly doubt it. The beating he got was proportional to his stamina+tricks... If the same attacks would be used to a villain Luffy has faced in the past, either post or pre-timeskip, would certainly leave marks (eg. Lucci). I think it is supposed to show just how superior Doflamingo was to any villains that Luffy has faced so far.

RE: Some theories on the One Piece endgame
The three ancient weapons, which as some of you said may have been named like that after the WG took over, may have something to do with underwater, sky and sea-level/ground. We already know that Pluto is probably a kind of ship in shape and Poseidon being a mermaid. So Uranus should be something that has to do with the sky, as its name implies as well (uranos/ουρανός=sky in greek) . I want to see where Enel will come to play a part in this, as his current whereabouts should be the moon "Fairy Vearth". If he finds such an ancient weapon, he could stir the balance easily, if the other 2 have been found by then. Or we may even spot it in a flying island. Skypiea wasn't the only place one could visit in the sky, as we recently learned.

RE: What fruit does Monkey D. Dragon have?
I think that back in Loguetown, it doesn't matter if the incoming storm Nami predicted was a forced thing or not. Maybe Dragon started it or maybe it just occured as a convinient coincidence; why create a storm when it has already started creating by itself?(Though in any case he could still manipulate things to his will) Also, about that lightning it's really likely that, regardless of how the clouds were formed, Dragon made it so it would hit the scaffolding that moment but it's not 100% certain. I can't really figure how exactly Dragon thinks. He is kinda romantic and loves people being able to choose their path, etc so maybe 1) he chose to not do a thing and watch if something would happen to prevent his son from being executed (a higher power or something we may not yet know) or 2) he did call down the lightning to the amazement of everyone and to make it look like a miracle/higher power helped Luffy, but more importantly to see/test how Luffy would react when he realised he really was gonna die.
All those theories about Dragon's DF are really interesting though, but wouldn't it dissapoint you at a point if you had predicted it correctly? Meaning that we all expect Oda to surprise us with something like he gave us hints of Dragon's powers but to mislead us based on our current knowledge of things in OP universe (so far it's almost certain that Dragon must have DF powers).
For this topic's sake,i'll say what I believe about Dragon's possible DF powers. So far, I believe he can control the weather in general and not just wind or air pressure etc. It would make more sense for such a hyped character like Dragon's.

RE: Chapter 798: Heart
Writing off isn't a negative. It is a colloquialism that means to discount, disregard, dismiss, or otherwise reject, with an implication of labeling (writing) something as something else.
You can say "Don't write it off," and that is not a double negative - it is the same as saying: Don't disregard it.
Then we have the slightly more complicated, but more common "Don't write it off as…" This means: Don't disregard it, thinking that such and such.
Because of this complicated independent/dependent clause structure (don't disregard subject1, thinking that such and such), we can't just translate "Don't disregard" as "Do regard;" or, at least it isn't helpful to. See below)
So an example: "Don't write me off as too young."
This definitely doesn't mean I am too young (on your analysis, it does). it means don't disregard me, thinking I'm too young.(Double negative translation would be: Do regard me, thinking I'm too young. The thinking I'm too young no longer does any work - we just have a command to regard me, and follow it with something the person thinks, but we don't connect the two - we don't say that we should or shouldn't regard them for that reason or that we are right or wrong to think I'm too young.)
In One Piece, the example is: "Don't go writing it off as an act of love or something." Well, we need to know what "it" is. "It" was Coras saving Law (generally) as well as his self-sacrifice (specifically).
He's saying not to disregard or dismiss what Cora did, thinking it was love.
There is a connection here between the command and the "thinking…" that gets lost when we translate it as a double negative. That results in "Do regard what he did, thinking it was love," and tells us nothing about whether or not he is right to think it is love.
It's a weird thing to say. Sengoku definitely wanted to make a claim about whether or not Cora loved Law, and on the double negation account, he doesn't - He just says, yeah you think he loved you, maybe you're right I have nothing to say about that, but regard what he did. And that just isn't how "Dont write it off as..." works. That just shows how badly Panda screwed the pooch :P
Yes, you are right. I didnt know how to put it in a better way to explain myself, but you just found the way :P As for the translation of panda it sucks a lot, they miss the spirit of the main scenes of the chapter as I said earlier and I agree with you. I feel the need to apologise for having you spent time commenting that crappy translation :ninja: Thanks for finding the right words for explaining though!!!
Another thing; maybe Sorachi-sensei really likes Sengoku and Oda-sensei is depicting that in those panels! Or maybe we should expect a OP-Gintama anime/manga crossover at some point (OK I think I went too far haha )

RE: Chapter 798: Heart
Concerning the panda translation, at the point where Law and Sengoku are having a conversation, I read it again and it seems that it is actually correct BUT still sucks. It says "Don't go writing it off as an act of love or something" so it's 2 negatives (Don't+write off)=1 positive. It's just like he is saying to Traffy "It's not like he didn't love you". It is a very complex translation and you can very well misunderstand, unless you read it 5-10 times over :P At least that's how many times it took me, because I was acting like I have so much time to spare, trying to make excuses for the translators :getlost: (i'm having a hard time to believe that people can translate that badly :P )
