I think Chopper can smell in all forms but his best form for smelling is in reindeer form.
and 2 years apart affects his scent recognize also may be the cause too.

1. Yeah, I agree, with Chopper's sense of smell, you'd figure he'd be able to tell who the real Strawhats are, but consider this a)Maybe he lost their scent over the two years, or b) it's just a throwaway joke that we really don't need to read into too much. Oda often sacrifices logic for humor.

and C) he's able to use great sense of smell only in the 4 legs reindeer form. :ninja:

I though recap/ova thing u guys have been talking about from the begining of this thread is some kind of One Piece anime remake, like what they do to Hellsing?
Is the recap/ova thing is just 30 mins summarize of old One Piece anime up to now?

I think comparing to other japanese cartoons like Naruto or Bleach. For manga, One Piece has its best but for anime, it can be better.
In my country, people usually get OnePiece hooked by reading manga not watching anime
