A lot of people choose akira as one of their first here, kinda brings back my first time too.
Akira was actually my first anime movie i ever watched, i believe it was shown on AXN, followed by Ghost In A Shell.

**Whoa people - BASHING. Moq was right. There is a lot of intelligent discussion here, but bashing is lurking and beginning to rear its ugly head. Watch yourselves.
I'm not an Inu Yasha fan either. Although, it never particularly impressed me much from the beginning. I'm kind of curious about the manga, though, because I do love Rumiko.
I think Inu Yasha in a nutshell sums it up nicely XD**
I don't know why you say i'am bashing when i'am telling the truth here, Seta Ginny.
I mean, it's not like i used profanities with describing inuyasha, though it's a pity i can't, i have always followed the rules of conduct in this forum, and i do plan to keep on doing so, as i will be here for a long time.
By the way, that is a cool video (or was that a animation).
Willpower has nothing to do with the amount of damage you take. The wound on his chest was much bigger than any of Ken's wounds.
I disagree, Kenshin has through his life taken many life-threatening injuries, for instance, his fight with Saitou, Shishio, Enishi, etc… and has managed to survive.
It's easy to assume that Zoro's all muscle. But the techniques he uses require much more dexterity than anything Kenshin does. And stamina as well. Plus, he always keeps his composure, where Kenshin actually has a tendency to lose his cool during tough fights.
I disagree with this myth as well, anyone who has seen him in action will testify that performing his techniques is no easy feat. All his technique require great speed and dexterity.
Most of the time, i notice Zoro only goes for the kill in two way, either charge directly or stand and counter.
and believe me, kenshin is someone who never loses tracks and certainly never loses his cool. He is always trying to find a way to a peaceful end with his enemies, and even when that fails, he never goes in a rampage and hacks anything in his way now, does he.
Even in the fight with Shishio, everyone knew how angry Kenshin was with Shishio, yet he complied with the wishes of Ayumi to let Shishio go, instead of just killing him there and then.
he only scene where he appears to lose his cool is when Shishio stabbed his sword through Ayumi and even then but that is understandable, saying no one loses his cool is like saying we don't feel.
**I don't know what "crap" you're talking about, but a powerful sword doesn't mean a powerful swordsman.
And it was said that Soujiro's first sword was very famous, but it broke just like any other.**
I didn't mean a powerful sword equals a powerful swordsman, what i meant is that you keep on saying that Zoro can crack through every other sword, well, the same goes for him, as there are others who have swords just as powerful.
And no, the manga explain that Soujiro never used a true sword, whatever that means, has the need for such a sword was not required, as in the case of Zoro's using common sword (not the sword Kunia gave him, the other two).
When the need came, he got himself a better sword, just as Zoro did in Roger Town.
When weapons are involved, a neck or head injury can mean instant death. The third sword isn't a big threat, but it's perfect for defending such a vulnerable area.
I fail to see how "biting into a sword" will save him if someone decides to slash his neck or head from the back.
I wasn't saying that more swords make a better fighter. I'm just saying that Zoro's style and abilities are so unorthodox that Kenshin (or Soujiro) wouldn't be able to effectively deal with all three swords.
It is a proven theory that a "orthodox" swordsman is the better. and this is shown in Zoro's past, where he challenged Kunia and always lost.
If his skill his so "unorthodox" as you say, why the need to enrol in a school of swordsman.
The first Rumiko Takahashi anime i ever watched was Ranma 1/2, and did that get on my nerves, after the first season, the show became so repetitve that i quit after 3rd season.
But to be fair, i did go through it again, all the way to the 7th season (i think), and the movie as well. The score i would give Ranma 1/2 would be average.
Which is why i even got started with inuyasha, and what a big mistake that was.
It wasn't the series sucked. It just failed along the lines. Inuyasha was a great character, but he got all mushy and stupid, always crying for Kikyou when he also wanted Kagome, i mean, make up your mind like a real MAN!!.
I agree with most that after Sango joined, it became so repetitive that i nearly stopped, but continue although i sleeped through most. It once again became exciting when the seven warriors were revived by Naraku.
But after that it once again became repetitive, i'am not surprised that the studio cancelled this sorry excuse.
Hitori No Yuro - Porno Grafitti
Can anyone even match up with this guys!!
If there is a reason you MUST go on with Hunter x Hunter other than the good story, look no further than the super cool Killua.
With his lighting attacks, he can put all those wannabes to shame.
Kurapica is just as cool, and his revenge against the spider arc was a blast.
**The injury Zoro got from Mihawk was far, far worse than Ken's injury from Soujiro. Yet, no matter the strength of his enemy, he kept standing. He was also sick, so he fell once, but he made sure he finished his fight, and even took on Arlong.
Counter Soujiro's speed? Maybe with his own, or the way Luffy countered Kuro's speed.**
The reason it look like Kenshin had a lesser injury to Zoro's was not because Mihawk is stronger but because kenshin has the willpower to stand such wound, fighting for years must have given him some resistance.
let's say that ..Who think kenshin could win Mr.1?? for me ,i think he don't get a chance ..if he can't win Mr.1 ..he would not win zoro ..Kenshin body is hella weak ..zoro always exercise ..so he's healthy and strong and have skills …Although kenshin have skill ..but he don't stand a chance to win zoro
There are two types of strenght, one is physical and the other is mental. Whereas Zoro relies on his physical strenght, Kenshin relies on his mental. Having more muscles doesn't mean better, and kenshin has proven that even in his small frame, he is able to counter anyone.
He wouldn't need to keep up for long; he wouldn't clash swords constantly. After two or three, he'd break Soujiro's sword.
You assumed that everyone other swordsman carry crap for their sword, well i don't think so, the more powerful swordsman would generally carry a powerful sword.
Soujiro was carrying that useless sword in the beginning, as with Zoro, but later on, Shishio gave him a very powerful sword, and Zoro too got he's sword from Roger island.
With three swords, I'd say his bases are pretty much all covered.
Three swords, you mean two. I can hardly recognize that sword in his mouth as a serious threat.
And like i said, most of the better swordsman don't have any problem dealing with guys who have two or three swords.
I tell you guys, Elie's boobs are bigger than nami, at least on TV they are, and Elie's always bouncing them everywhere
that last battle was tough tho. I love to see old school gamers like myself wherever i can find them. I remember either renting it or borrowing it from my cousin and finding it hard back in the day but when i went back to it years later it was practically a breeze. On a side note, it is a shame more kids in my generation and younger(16 and younger, with me in the 16 age group) gravitating towards the new school entirely and hating the old school based solely on graphics.
I get that feeling too, the first time playing any game is definitely harder, it's amazing how you breeze through after that
Wow, did you also play BOF4, the first time was indeed hard, then i started again, this time with the Slayer and and another sword (can't remember, but you do buy it from a merchant, it's a two-hit sword) and voila, Fou-lu is down in seconds
I do enjoy the older games, especially RPGs. I don't know, it sort of gives out something that the new games don't.
**Like jewbagel said, Shining Force 3 is for Sega Saturn. There were three scenarios (all separate games). Only scenario 1 came out in English though, which was too unfortunate. I think scenarios 2 and 3 only had Japanese versions (unless there were European versions that I don't know about).
Oh, and I like Super Mario RPG (I liked Geno and Jonathan Jones). I never got to play the other ones though.**
No fair!!!, i've been searching for ages to get my hands on SF3.
i too love L'Arc~en~ciel, and my favourites are.
1. Ready Steady Go!! (FMA)
2. Fourth Avenue Cafe (from Rurouni Kenshin)
3. Blurry Eyes (DNA)
4. Driver's High (GTO )
And Porno Grafitti rocks as well.
1. Hitori No Yuro (GTO) This song kicks ass!!
2. Mellisa (FMA)
Okay, i'am back, let's continue this discussion.
How can you compare them when Zoro hasn't even been on his peak yet? I think, CMIIW, Kenshin has been on his peak of swordmanship since the beginning and doesn't grow any stronger like Zoro does. At the current point of the story, Zoro perhaps has been able to force Mihawk to use his Black Sword, not tiny knife. and you missed Shanks; he's probably not any worse than Mihawk in term of sword skill
Guyleon, the reason you think kenshin has reached his peak is because kenshin has reached a level most swordsman that ages to reach. Lets just say that Kenshin is years ahead of every other swordsman.
and when the time came for him to learn a new skill to fight against shishio, didn't he attain the incredible Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki.
lets see.
cabaji
hitchi-six swords.
mr.1-steel man
the flash gun guy
ohm
and 100 bounty hunters.
can kenshin do anything that zoro did plus i bet there is more but i cant remember
Oh please, Cabaji was a common circus acrobat, hitchi wasn't the brightest of the merman now was he, and don't even get me started on the 100 bounty hunters (who mostly consists of common hoodlums)
Mr. 1 was the only formidable foe so far, but compared to Saitou and Shishio, well you get the idea.
I'll continue this discussion tomorrow, it's 4.00am already (damm, where did all the time go too!!)
And I still maintain Kenshin is the more skillful, talented swordsman
My favourite, it's gotta be Sabin.
Locke, Celes, Edgar and Shadow come close behind :D
**Zoro ran the gauntlet and beat 100 bounty hunters. Granted, none of them were terribly strong, but the sheer numbers of them all…plus, a lot of them had weapons besides swords, and he had never seen any of them fight before, like Kenshin had clashed with Soujiro earlier.
Also, Zoro was half dead when he fought Hacchi, and he still perservered. Kenshin wasn't able to fight properly against Shishio, but his life wasn't even in danger then. Zoro doesn't tire like that.
And I still doubt Ken could read Zoro. Okay, so you can block the Oni Giri. You still have no idea what the Gazami Dori would be like.**
**I realize he didn't fight Aoshi seriously. Until he pulled out his final technique. He always falls back on that one thing, which could lead to his downfall if an enemy gets up from it. Zoro has never been knocked out, and I don't think he ever will.
And it's been a while, but wasn't Ken having a tougher time than expected with Raijuuta because of an arm injury? That kinda thing would never stop Zoro, a guy who had his stomach shredded in one of his fights and still won.**
Yeah, but did you see what kind of people were holding thse weapons. Doctors,
Nuns, Cooks and Shopkeepers to name a few
in his hey days, Kenshin fought with dozens of people, all wanting to beat the greatest swordsman, and not to mention The Shinsen Patrol, sworn enemy of Kenshin. Even in the series, there are times where he fights with more than one person at a time.
Take the Raijuuta arc, where he fought against four-five swordsman at a time, in order to save Youtaro.
The reason Raijuuta EVEN had the chance to swing his sword was because kenshin was trying to talk some sense in him, and when that did'nt work, all it took were a couple of blows to finish him.
Actually, if you notice, the fight with Aoshi and Soujiro were'nt just ordinary fights, they were incredible swordsman themselves, and yet he prevailed. Kenshin was half-dead when he fought shishio, yet he got up to finish the battle, and that takes a lot of willpower.
As for Kenshin not up to Zoro's Gazami Dori, then Zoro's hasn't seen the incredible Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki :P
**I highly doubt it.
Another thing Kenshin really excels at is observing, he can grasps his opponent's movements in a matter of second.**
Exactly, kenshin has proven that he can fight against someone with more than three sword, in the case of Aoshi Shinamori, who had two swords with him.
Even if zoro is unpredictable, another one of kenshin's skill is to be able to read a enemy's moves based on the enemy's current moves.
And as for those who say that kenshin is strong, he is, mentally and emotionally, how else did he survive fighting Aoshi, Soujiro Seta and Shishio.
Rusty, i don't think so, if he were, how the hell does he stand up to every bad guy that he's come face to face with.
When i say that kenshin is talented, it doesn't just mean that he has more powerful skills or better speed. If talent was just that, ever other guy would be claiming to be the best swordsman.
No, talent also involves perception, the ability to read the mind and moves of your enemy, and the power to choose the right skill to counter.
And kenshin has proven that he has everything of the above. You never see anything like this with zoro.
You don't become a great swordmans because you have more skills, and you don't become one if your skill is more impressive.
For Kenshin to be the swordsman that he is, it must have taken great talent and discipline, and that shows went he's in any battle.
I don't mean that Zoro is a bad swordsman, but he just doesn't match up to Kenshin.
I agreed with Starlight, there is no doubt kenshin is the better swordsman, why, because kenshin is faster, more skillful and talented.
If you watched the OVA, you would be in awe at the sword skills that kenshin possesed even at that age, and in the series where he's stop killing, he's still able to stand against guys who kill on a daily basis.
Even watching the classic fight with Shishio and Satou will confirm that Kenshin is indeed the better swordsman, even with a reversed edge sword, his Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki is able to inflict that much damage.
As much as i hate to admit, any song from Hack //. Sign gets me humming all day.
And if its not that, it's Linkin Park :P
Maybe you can try this:
go to the site with the image you want, right-click and choose save picture as…
then you might try finding a site that gives you space to host your pics.
The one i use is Imageshack and the link is below:
Are these guys for real??, One Peace??, whose cheesy idea was that
I liked the part where Luffy saved Vivi as she was falling, made him look like the true hero that he is. So I would love to see a LuffyxVivi
It's somewhat correct to say that people who usually fight with each other usually end up becoming lovers, as with a host of other anime.
ZoroxNami would be fun to see, but it would be even for fun to see Zoro and Sanji fight for Nami, don't you think
I don't think so, CosmicDebris, i mean these are the infamous HK subs we are talking about here. If it isn't Crook Bu or Liar Bu (that's what they usually call him anyway), then someone got it right by mistake
Wow, that quite a collection, jewbagel. I don't own any of the console myself  . All of the games i ever played were on the computer with ROMS taken from the internet. I don't think that makes it less enjoyable though.
I have never don't Shining Force 3 myself, only went up to No. 2, do you know where to get No. 3??
But i have finished every Breath Of Fire series ever produced, including the latest No. 4. The graphics were very nice, and Ryu having the ability to change in Kaiser was cool, though Fou-Lu's dragon was even better
I'll second that, changsho. I'am jus got through the fight between Luffy and Crocodile and the subs kept on calling both Luffy as Ruf and Crococdile as Clark Dell
I was like, who the hell is clark dell, then it dawn to me that it was actually crocodile
Jeece???, he's still around, last time i checked, and mostly active in the "I need a sig" thread.
Just asked him some help yesterday, and he responded, so he's still very much around
Oh, and thanks for the help, Jeece
At least you did'nt wait till you had 30 post before you came here, pal, like i did
Welcome aboard, be cool and have fun
I don't think so, jewbagel. After all, they were classic games weren't they
I recognise all of them anyway, if that makes you sit back
Wow, having been through the GENESIS and SNES, this sure is a hilarious scene indeed!
Where did you get the clip, EvilGamerX
You said it, Zio.
I never played games till i stumble upon Phantasy Star 4, and i played that one at least 15 times before going for the other Phantasy Star Series. Later on i moved to the SNES and got hooked on Final Fantasy.
I love Phantasy Star 4, it's my all time favourite RPG
By the way, does anyone here remember Shining Force Series, it was another great, wasn't it.
I have almost the entire collection of GENESIS and SNES Roms, so if anyone ever needs any of the ROMS, you can PM me
I get your feeling, jewbagel. I've just about played every RPG snes there is in there market.
though i've moved on to full-fledge computer games, the SNES and GENESIS were the great of their time.
Have you ever played Phantasy Star or Final Fantasy, jewbagel
Thanks for the info, pal.
I visited the links you provided and i can't find a good luffy gif, so i guess i'll just create one.
Wish me luck :D
Key Of The Twilight from Hack //. Sign  (Don't you just love Yuki Kajiura)
One Piece, I don't know, what part came out of One Piece??
Maybe it's because Rave has taken so many parts out of every other anime, that's why we feel that its made out cliches
Bleach is nice, someone should give it a go.
Then there's Elfen Lied (but be prepared for some very gory scenes….)
You didn't go around lying to get out of trouble, did you now, Solar Knight
Or you want to tell me why your so familiar with Usopp
Nice watch, VildaHawk. If i can even get anything decent that can compared to One Piece, you know i would have.
The only momento i have are the old One Piece episodes with the Hong Kong Fansubs
I went overboard there, didn't I
I'am the sort of person that throws back at someone, and only later on think about my actions.
Point taken there, Eshbaal. So lets be friends again :D
JEECE, what kind of graphic tool are you using to create all this avatars and signatures??
I'am trying to create one in GIF Animator, but some scenes are too slow. Any advise??
If that's not possible, could you make me a cool Luffy Animation.
Thanks a million :D
Suna, live today and worry tomorrow.
Sure there will be those who will critisize your move, but that's not important, it's whether you gave your all to achieve those dreams and passion that drive you.
As long as you are satisfied that you have done your best, you are the real winner here.
So forget about the pros and cons of doing Manga and do it, you have my vote of confidence.
Oh, and don't forget to give me a copy :D
Listen here, Eshbaal, I didn't mean that Chopper's past was horrible, just that the flashbacks were damm annoying.
Everytime i felt sorry for chopper, another one of those flashbacks would occur, and what made it worst was they kept repeating the same flashback over and over again.
I love Chopper's past, there's no doubt about it.
And I love all the other character past has well, it doesn't mean that a bit of words will change that, words are words and will remain that
so next time you wanna say something against me, maybe you want to check back with me first
Very Cool signature Chopper. How the hell did you create it??
I've been trying for days now, and i hope to change my avatar to a animated One Piece as well :D
Chopper : you're new signature gets a cool 10/10 :D
Starlight : gets a 10/10 for avatar and 9/10 for signature.
omae no kaasan v.2 : God, what's this guy's problem, he's signature and avatar looks like its from a porn site. 0/0 for both signature and avatar
Buccaneer, do continue reading HxH, its a very good story, right after One Piece!!
Hehehe, seems everyone is having fun going down memory lane. Isn't it fun :D
I must confess i nevered watched much of DBZ or Sailormoon, only a couple of episodes. I did watch a few episode of Pokemon with my little bro but dropped out later on….
Doraemon was the first ever manga i read, and i loved it so much that i collected it till 44 I think. It still brings back lots of fond memorys along.
I know what you mean, Chopper, i made lots of posts before it came to my attention that introducing yourself was the porper way around here
Remember when i was welcoming you, chopper, that was really funny, seeing how you had waaaaay more posts than i did!
anyway, welcome to the forum, pal. Have fun, be cool and stay on the safe side with the moderators, especially Zio, who just got moderator status and is dying to swing his mighty sword
I should be called a god, not a goddess, Tash, but hell, you're the great genius gorgeous glamourous goddess, so all hail you
Welcome on board, Zio, though this might be late…..
Point taken, GoAnderson. Where the hell am i going to get enough pron to satisfy both Seta Ginny and Suna anyway, not to mention e1n request for that Nico Robin statue
I hope you're not offended by my remark, Pepsi.
I was only throwing a compliment
I've never cried over listening to a song, but i have been emotionally moved by some.
The first one was from Full Moon Wo Sagishite, and the song was Myself.
It was a very powerful song, got to me for months. I love any songs by Changin My Life, including Eternal Snow, Love Chronicle, etc…
Linkin Park and Evanescence also get to me alot
though i love One Piece, Hunter X Hunter easily comes second.
what can i say, It has a great story, great character development, good music and Kurapica & Kilhua, nuff said
My favorite Arc was where Kurapica took his revenge, and my favourite characters are Kilhua And Kurapica, especially Kilhua, he's so cool, even more now with his thunder attacks!!
 My list goes like this
ANIME:
One Piece (what else)
Hunter X Hunter
Full Metal Alchemist
Elfen Lied
Bleach
Rurouni Kenshin
MANGA:
One Piece
Hunter X Hunter
I more into watching the Anime than Reading, though the Manga for One Piece was good
