RE: Live and let die - A Mafia and DnD crossover
Ugh, sorry everyone. It seems I'm not allowed to play mafia without health scares in my family. My 15 year old cat irl was having issues that needed a veterinary hospital visit for most of the day. My mind has not been focused at all since she has health scares a lot recently so I've been mentally gone.
I will confess, I did go after Usopp to kill him, but someone beat me to it. Funny thing to note though, by my understanding from the clown, there is no mafia so I'm not sure what to think about it.
Lynch me if you will, but I did not kill Usopp…not for lack of trying anyway...
Sorry to be a party pooper...

Actually, maybe this place is not so bad. Let Luffy and the others handle the big guns, right Nami? We've done plenty! Okay, so let me get a lay of the land.
This gun big enough for you?

RE: Disney animation thread
! great episode but it gives whole new perspective for the basilisk that showed up in season 1. It was under the guise of an emperor's coven inspector, perhapsthat was its guise when it escaped. It also corroborated with when that episode happened right around Vee escaping.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I figured out kmo had the role because of his outburst when Kits claimed cop. I wish I could say it wasn't meta that tipped me of, but kmo gets extremely explosive when he catches someone in a lie, so I played with that in mind…wasn't expecting to actually have a cop tho lol. If it had been a doctor, this game would have vastly different

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I honestly chose not to kill just to cause confusion, the actual strategy came after I decided that. To be honest, I was having so much fun that if we ended up not lynching, I was going to abstain from killing again.
I was determined to not bloody my hands until the end. Had my Godfather status to uphold you see.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I was sweating whenever Huschel and Starla had our strategy nailed to a t. The good thing is the plan was a silly one that shouldn't have worked, so it was the perfect ploy~
Won't work again I'm sure tho.
Starla, you did great for your second game! You had me in your sights for most of the game, just gotta have the gut feeling to follow through, even if things get turned around on ya. I was glad to play with ya~

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
@Huschel: I know you explained yourself, but when it comes to inactive players I error on the safe side and believe they are town until after day 1. Inactive players are easy fodder for mafia and I just don't feel right doing it early on. It's a difference of opinion it seems.
My reads:
Kmo: pretty level headed and has contributed a lot. Was adamant about the Kitsune doc claim as bogus and got on that shit right away. Most town vibes to me
Starla: still wary of even after that stunt yesterday. Defended who we now know is scum. However, the self vote perplexed me so I'm not really certain about her placement. More scum than town vibes, but maybe I am reading too much into the new player.
Huschel: my original theory seems to hold up with the new info of kitsunes flip. Seems to have piggybacked off my line of thinking to throw suspicion on me. In all honesty, he has been pretty active, but I have seen scum blend in by seeming constructive.
I will be blunt, I was driven to vote Kitsune on day 2 because of my hunch and his actions on day one. I know it didn't gain any traction, but even without me, the no lynch happened. So I guess in essence it was a ceremonial vote to show my feeling.
In the end, and after several retreads, Huschel does seem the most suspicious. Starla has still been pretty active even after the grave defense she gave yesterday and in all honesty, seems like a good scapegoat at this juncture at the moment.
I guess my answer to the first question Kmo?
vote lynch: Huschel
Hope we got it right.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
At this point, not all my suspicions on you have gone away. If you truly are town, I'm sorry if I seemed like I was attacking you, but you found me pretty hard and then the one you defended the most turned out to be scum. It doesn't look good, even if you voted yourself. That could just be a ploy to stall for time, but I'm getting sidetracked.
Either way, I do have a question for you. What are your reads on the three of us with the way that Kitsune flipped? It's always best to keep rereading and see if you notice anything strange.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Honestly, going back over the first couple of days…my initial conjecture on Huschel/Kitsune on day one is starting to look pretty plausible. Huschel adamant about voting out Kevo rubbed me the wrong way too considering we could have just no lynched and gotten to the night with more townie bodies.
Then I hypothesized of their team up, but had little to go on it at the time because it was one interaction with little to no info. Now that we know Kitsune was scum, it doesn't look really good in retrospect. Then he brings up the possibility that I am scum and I voted out my buddy for townie cred, which is just the same type of thinking I initially had. If we look at it this way as if Huschel is mafia, using my own logic against me is a pretty good ploy, along with hammering Kits yesterday, he makes sure he follows his own idea.
In the end...Huschel is looking more viable after I read through again.

Either way, I want Huschel to show up before I continue further.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Iif there really is a doctor, man have they had bad luck most of the game.
At this point, I'm stuck between Star and Huschel, obviously leaning towards Star, but her readiness to vote herself gives me pause.
Kmo, could you answer my questions?
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Phew, okay I wasn't expecting you to vote yourself like that.
I asked the questions wanting a dialog, not thinking anyone else would vote that quickly…
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
vote lynch: starlalilymoon
You want to explain to me why you protected Kitsune so fervently? Why were you so keen on getting on Huschel's good graces and want to work with him? The fact that you tried to deflect onto me when your theatrics were so strange?
Huschel: I don't discount your theory that I am scum sending my buddy up the river, I is a very real possibility. However, given that if I was mafia, why would I vote for my buddy when I could have easily gone after someone like Star? No, that would be too risky and would fly face first against the mafia Wisconsin. Sure, it would make me look townie today, and I hope that my vanilla town self does come through to you. But for now, I have the last mafia in my sight. Let's make this a town win.
Kmo: you grilled her yourself, tell me what other position could she be if not the scum buddy. She took Kitsune at their word, didn't question it. And instead tried to throw us under the bus. What are your thoughts?
In the end, new player or not, I believe you messed up Star.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I'm after Kitsune mostly for their quick flip flop on day 1 from day zero. Say they are a cop, why bring attention to that situation again when the cop role was the big hot topic?
Either way, I've been reading their posts with a measure of scrutiny and honestly just get bad vibes off of them. Then the claim and reports. They cleared me, that's really cool. But I still am not convinced because the cop claim is the safest route to go and Kits has been on the spotlight for most of the game. Something just doesn't add up and I don't like it.
As for yesterday, I just wanted to make it apparent that I want to vote him. It was a day where the note if taken seriously, wouldn't go all the way with just my one vote. Once I get a whiff, I don't give up easily.

RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Then why didn't the mafia kill me? I wanted them to kill me during the night.
If I had to guess? You were making it too clear you wanted to die, setting up any at all possible combos of people watching you and the like. If I was mafia, I wouldn't touch you with a ten foot poke (jk please I'm sorry ><;)
You flip flopped too. So, how come you won't bring any information you have then? It's Day 3, there's no point in hiding your role anymore or town loses. Plus, I like how you and kmo are working well together, sounds like a team move. While Huschel and I are hesitant and want to discuss it first. Are you scared of losing? Is that why you making rash decisions without thinking them first? Also, Kitsune gave an innocent report on you too, soooo saying he gave out for me. What evidence makes you think I'm mafia?
Never flip flopped, I stated my reasons.
The more you fish for info, the more you worry me. I understand it's the last day, but perhaps I have no info from any role I may or may not have.
Kmo has his own thoughts and so do I, they just seem to converge on fox season is all. Besides, if it were a coordinated ploy, we did a crappy job of playing it out then considering it would be suicide to put us out in the open like this.
I am scared of losing, Kitsune is the first stepping stone to us townies winning.
I am saying Kitsune is protecting you with that report. If all is said and done, and he is trusted as a cop, then you have an air of credibility. However the more likely prospect is that he threw me in there to try and seem credible and keep you out of the lime light. There is also the slight possibility that he is a cop and one of us is the godfather. In that case I know who I am, I don't know you. Also, I find it suspicious that Shuhan never replied to Kitsune on why he suspected Huschel. Shuhan went automatically towards to lynching Kitsune instead of discussing and proving his innocence.
Because Kitsune's folly warranted more attention, but I'll answer now. Before this all happened on day 1, Kitsune and Huschel went at it and raised my suspicion of them trying to lead the group on. It really was like that until you decided to play an act trying to be targeted. You also have had no real info other than to react to what everyone else has stated. You also have been role fishing and trying to press everyone for their roles. That was all yesterday, maybe roles to a lesser extent, but fishing is fishing.
Adding to this. I wanted to get killed for the good of the town. If I was mafia, I wouldn't want to die as that would make it harder to win. I was literally excepting a PM from Kirby stating my death.
This kills me. If you are town, you still count for the town. You are important no matter your role.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Not true.
Mafia had already had their power assigned. That is what Huschel picked up on yesterday, and pointed out. I think he meant to ask you directly, but couldn't due to time constraint… Maybe he is somewhere out there smiling now.
When was this stated, I was under the impression that no roles were concrete until after night 0.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
And just a side note, for some reason whenever Star quotes me, my notifications go into the double digits lol
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Just so you know Star, all of town and mafia were vanilla on day zero. You could breadcrumb that all you want, but it changed night 0. Now you are desperate to try and work with Huschel because your scum buddy is gonna be lynched.
I know you're a new player, but that won't shield you from defending a flip flopping with a flimsy at best claim that conveniently clears you. Kitsune is knowingly stirring the pot by picking the two of us and in all honesty, I believe he is covering for you now. -
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I understand we are at mlyo. That phrase was really weird too I apologize.
What I'm getting at is at this point, Kitsune is an easy pick for me. Mostly defensive yesterday and flip floppy the first day. Then this claim which just does not jibe at all with what I've seen.
I know this type of vote puts a lense over me especially since I said not to vote till we decided, but I feel that the cop claim just doesn't stick.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Honestly? I have been looking for Kitsune's lynch since yesterday. My feelings is to lynch him and see if his story checks out. If it does, lynch me first.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
You know what? Screw ceremony.
vote lynch: Kitsune Inferno
I know what I said myself…but that was before we had no info. This just stinks too much.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
….I'm at a loss...
Claiming cop now? In lieu of sounding exactly like Kmo, you didn't wait to put that out there till everyone had posted?
My finger is itching to vote you right now. I appreciate the fake report on me, but no this is not sitting well with me at all. At this point, I want to vote Kitsune out today to see if his story checks out. If it's true and barring a godfather? Bully for me and Starla. But I am more inclined to look through that bogus claim and continue with my gut.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Just so we are all on the same page, do not vote someone until we all have decided who to vote, considering if one misplaced vote could potentially let mafia dog pile if given the chance.
I'm sure Huschel is Town, I'm certain because he voted for Cop.
That doesn't mean much, I was the biggest proponent for voting cop, and yet you still suspect me. Fair is fair though, he voted and I didn't but just putting that out there.
So, it's either Shuhan/kmo, Shuhan/Kitsune (Very not likely), Kitsune/kmo?
Fair choices, but I'm still not convinced of Huschel not being a possibility. Thinking back to day 1, I'm still considering a Kitsune/Huschel pairing with Huschel being the active one and Kitsune being the one in the shadows. I also have another potential pairing, but I'll leave that for later this post.
I do suspect Shuhan because of his vote yesterday.
I was merely putting down my obvious pick, Kitsune has been running around acting like he is trying to hunt, and to be fair he kinda has. However, this came after a lot of flip flopping the day before that screams scum to me.
And sadly, the mafia didn't fall into my trap, was trying to redeem myself for outing myself as a vanilla townie. Guess lesson learned.
I am very confused by this statement. Are you implying that you wanted to have a target on your back because you claimed vanilla? Please elaborate because the pretense you threw up at days end just didn't make any sense.
In the end, my picks are either Kitsune/Huschel, or my currently growing suspicion Kitsune/Starlalilymoon.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Star, may I ask your reasoning for suspecting me?
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Honestly, I'm glad you at least agree with me on Kitsune Huschel, that post was literally just speculation at best with how I saw the day progress. At this point I still have sight on Kitsune only because almost all of his posts seem to be just off. Taking the past two days into account I feel safe to do this and don't really plan on changing this.
vote lynch: Kitsune Inferno
Being defensive is one thing, but the more I read your posts, you seem more keen on protecting yourself than anything else.
I'm going to be busy the next several hours, but if you got any questions for me, I'll answer them as quickly as possible.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Starting off, I can explain that vote of mine. I had the page set up for when I would put the vote down. 2:30 rolled around and I got distracted by my son who had asked me to help him download a Fnf mod. I saw what time it was and posted without refreshing so when I saw that the wagon had been hammered already, it was too late.
Star: I understand you are trying to get info from anyone that might have done anything, but asking that way makes it seem like you are role fishing and trying to out the power users. Sometimes those with abilities either have nothing or they are trying to play with their cards close to the vest and waiting to give the information at the proper moment. Unless it's like a cop got a guilty report, maybe that would be the first thing that player would say, but I would say if anyone got info, but doesn't have info to help them decide if what they got could help prove scum guilty. As it is, if the information is worth the danger of outing your ability, I'd say take it, otherwise I'd keep it under wraps until you can build a proper case.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Sorry, didn't mean to put this up late.
vote lynch: Kevo-koma
Hope this doesn't bite us in the ass.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Looking at the votes, we are at L-2. If Kevo does not show up by 2:30 pm est, I'll throw a vote down on them.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Yeah, forum based mafia games are a different breed from more fast paced versions, so I understand your position.
The thing that bugs me the most is Huschel's quick switch to Kevo. To my own logic, Kitsune is probably a better vote and in all honesty I would be on that wagon.
No, he goes from saying he isn't going to lift his vote from Kitsune, to his next post immediately switching to vote out an inactive. My honest guess atm with speculation being the forefront of this, Kitsune is mafia who is playing dumb while Huschel his partner throws sus on his buddy to look good if the lynch goes through.
The wrench is why would he change immediately to voting Kevo when his reasoning seems sound? It doesn't add up to flip flop at this point, unless you are trying to backtrack and protect his buddy for the night. That is how I'm interpreting this situation. Does anyone follow, or am I completely out of my mind?
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
See, I don't like that type of thinking. Yes they are inactive, but the possibility that they are a town body still counts as a point against scum. Numbers and hunting are always in town favor. Now if they are silent for the rest of the day, we'll there is a reason Kevo is on my radar.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
My apologies for being late to the day. My wife was in the hospital for most of the actual day yesterday and I was focused on that for most of the day. I'm at work atm, but they have me in a job that let's me be scarce every so often so I'll catch up in a few.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Okay, in interest of being transparent, I also voiced for the cop role and didn't vote at all, that is my bad.
Moving on to the question posed to me, I am not usually a proponent to first day lynches, but considering this is a nuanced day one that had a day zero before it, it's left us with at least some read on players.
Kitsune flip flopping about cop sus is pretty concerning and I wouldn't look over it. Kevo being silent isn't helpful either.
Huschel why did you target Kitsune for that first lynch when I did basically the same thing?
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Like I said Huschel, my Pick would be cop and some kind of investigative role. So I agree with your picks, but I happened to think about the random decision. On one hand, it prevents scum from knowing what roles are in play, the issue is neither does anyone else other than the power users. It would be easy for the scum to sow chaos by claiming bogus roles and cause even further chance of mislynches.
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
I'm all for randomness myself if that is the general consensus, but my picks are where I'm at if we do vote.
Oh and I died when I traded my soul to know what happens at the end of Loki. I was then pruned for knowing knowledge that I shouldn't have…but it's nice to be able to hang out with all my pruned copies!
-
RE: Scales of Justice - a Mafia Game
Quiet, guess I'll open this can of worms.
I'll start off by saying I am for at least cop being one of the picks, with doctor being a close second. Some protection is nice and an investigation role seems prudent as well.
I am open for discussion though, what is everyone else's take.

-
RE: Neighborhood Watch (Name Subject to Change) - A Mafia Game
That's funny. Because now I really understand Huschel's remark about jokes getting you in trouble. :P
Okay, while I have no issue with your vote against me, I would like to clarify a few things.
1. When I said paraphrase, I was referring to the awkward phrasing in that very sentence. I said, "since I can target any individual regardless of their "aliveness"", which wa.s the best way I could think of to phrase it, without actually quoting the message. I wasn't referring to the time when I said that the item goes with me, I wasn't paraphrasing then. Hope this is clearer?
2. When I said that the item goes with me, that was an argument FOR lynching me. I don't see how that lie would have benefited me?
3. Important thing is that you admitted that my statement "jibes" with your message. (Joke time, NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY: man, you always use words that I have to google what they mean. Jibe? Lede?? Shuhan????)
4. Jabberwok has already stated that my statement about a thing being stolen from me "jibes" with his message.Bottom line, you have kinda corroborated that I am indeed a thief. Jabberwok has kinda corroborated that indeed something was stolen from me. Now, the only two points of contention that remain are, what was stolen FROM me, and what did I steal. Other than these two, everyone should be quite convinced that I am telling the truth.
Unfortunately, I can't really prove the other two. You believe what you believe.
I do not contest you being a Thief, I just believe that you are a mafia Thief. You played it off as if the item is unrecoverable, which gets me thinking.
(Also, as an aside, I do apologize for my vernacular. I head "bury the lede" when watching Invincible and just love the phrasing of it lol. Just happen to work in this setting)
-
RE: Neighborhood Watch (Name Subject to Change) - A Mafia Game
I actually had to recheck my message to answer this, turns out I forgot an important detail. It's likely that killing me wouldn't prevent mafia from getting their lock pick back, since I can target any individual regardless of their "aliveness" (yea, that's what happens when I try to paraphrase…)
Paraphrasing or not, burying the lede like that is suspect as hell. While what you have stated jibes with my own info, you knowingly posted the whole thing about if you die, the item goes with you and cannot be recovered, which is an obvious lie.
I'm willing to assume you might have overlooked it, but you just said you paraphrased inferring you knew that while posting.
vote lynch: kmohyudin
Also, the fact you said you had a weapon sends red flags for me since I did not start with an item. You are easily able to say you got stolen from because I do believe you are a Thief, however, I believe you are sowing misinformation to further confuse the town.
No honor using thieves it seems.

RE: Neighborhood Watch (Name Subject to Change) - A Mafia Game
@kmo, who can you target to steal from?
-
RE: Neighborhood Watch (Name Subject to Change) - A Mafia Game
Hmm, interesting development.
I can confirm that as a Thief, I did not start with an item. I would assume that if there were any other thieves around they would also not have an item.
Between Huchel and Kmo, I want to lean towards Huschel only because while an artificer does jibe with this set up, It seems pretty op for either side.
@Huschel: were you able to put the vest on or not?
-
RE: Neighborhood Watch (Name Subject to Change) - A Mafia Game
I will answer you in a bit Star but first.
@Jabberwok: you were notified when I stole your item?
