I love the build-up. I love seeing how things are moving toward a confrontation. The fights themselves, while exciting, don't have the depth of character and story that the "boring" parts have.
BTW, I love that "DON´T THINK ABOUT IT!" part between Luffy and Sanji were hilarious. No it wasn´t in a manga, but it´s not out of character and I love it. If all Toei additions would be like that then the anime wouldn´t stay so much behind the manga.
That was a great part. So was the part in the last episode where the Merry was being taken away, and when Sanji gets upset, all he can think about is that Nami put on a T-shirt. And with Sanji and Usopp freaking out about the ship being taken, Luffy is the one who asks the important question: Where are they being taken? Conis feeling bad because Sanji made her a beautiful bento, and she has just betrayed them.
Stuff like that is what makes this show great for me. =)
