…I know I'm a little late to the party on this one...but I signed on and thought to myself I'd check the last ten or so pages from this topic, and I saw this...and I'm just slightly confused.

I'm going to remain civil and I'm not trolling nor am I flaming, I'm just curious, do you know how to play? I'm a saxophone performance major (and music ed) at Central Washington University. Been playing since I was in fifth grade. When I saw this picture I thought at first "Oh another sax player!" Then I noticed you're holding the saxophone like you're playing, with your right hand on the top keys, the left hand goes on the top keys...in order to use the palm keys. I'm not sure if you did this for comedic effect or what. I know nothing about you, so I'm just curious. Also the neck is turned way too far out from where it should be for optimum playing...in fact I'm not even sure if you can play that way.

Just to prove I'm not blowing my stack about playing saxophone, I'll provide pictures and videos.

Now I don't play much jazz, so don't expect that from the couple of videos I post. The first piece I had to learn in two weeks for my summer recital this past August. It's one of the more difficult college level saxophone concertos. And since I had two weeks to prepare…(Only because the guy who was going to play it left on an exchange trip to Sweden) it isn't as good as it should be. And my friend who was recording was recording on a meh camera and was sitting very close.

Glazunov Concerto (Warning about 14 minutes long)

The second video here is of the Dubois Concerto, which is much more technically demanding than the Glazunov (I had much more time to prepare…although this one was about three years ago or something so I much less experienced). This was from my high school senior recital. I actually like this piece more...but it's not as easy for the general listener to listen to.

Definitely liking this idea. I'm up for it, invited my only two friends who like One Piece as well.

I was wondering why there were pokemon months and such, and I was thinking One Piece deserved a month. Hopefully this will get a decent response from fans.

I want to take advantage of the rightstuf sale, as I think that 9.99 is a tad overpriced for the manga (Even if it's worth it) but I've never ordered from them before. So from those of you who have gotten stuff from rightstuf, do the items come in good condition? Probably a stupid question but I'm worried that my manga is gonna show up with damage to it. So if someone could let me know I'd be grateful.

By far my favorite opening. Song not so much, but the content of it was amazing.

Merry's death. Almost when Luffy and Usopp right. Only in the anime though, manga didn't do that to me.

My parents basically know of it's existence…my mom at one point said that it was my anti-drug. My dad on the other hand knows somewhat about the plot line...I'm not exactly sure how...but he's shown a little interest in it...he sat down and watched a dub episode once while I was...around when Cricket was talking about the Knock-up stream. Then he was like "When are they riding it up?" "Bout 8 episodes" "You know?" "Yeah I've seen all the way up to 340 somethin" and he was all o_O.

I'd probably go around trying to find a logia devil fruit or something. I think I'd be a pirate either originating from Logue town or Water 7, I'd make an awesome crew and I would challenge the Mugiwara to a race to Raftel. However I'd be like them, not evil, but free spirited and helping all those I can along the way, while beating the crap outta whoever got in my way.
Seems like a nice way of life.

Amazing chapter, one of my favorites in a while, and that's saying something cause a lot of the chapters lately have been great. I expected Brook's past to be sad but "Quartet, Trio, Duo, Solo" was probably one of the sadder moments of the series imo.

Gamefaqs is weird in these aspects. I'm a frequenter there and I check in on the Toonami boards and the Other Titles. Most people tend to stick to one board and not the both. Toonami has a ton of Narutards, while OT is more swayed to One Piece. But yeah, there's been a shift to One Piece there, and to other people I talk to who hated One Piece before have started to like it because of the new dub.

Two people at Gamefaqs have claimed they've unlocked Brook by maxing out the Strawhats bounties then completing story mode, I haven't tried it though.

I promise you you'll have no problem with anything, the menus are very straight forward. Controls are
A- Guard
B- Jump
Y- Attack (Repeatedly >_>)
X- Specials- Can do different ones for directions.
+- Move.
Hit the character cards to activate powerups. Hit your character to activate a special, then hit X to perform it.

I just got the game, it's…okay. I've played much better games and I've played much worse games. There's only eight possible moves for each character, and hardly any characters feel like they should, with the exception of Franky (As far as I've played anyway.) Basic attack sequence will most likely follow for people YYYYYYYYYYY X attack. The Y's just repeat themselves over into a constant barrage of hits. Graphics are clean, frame rate is fine, controls fine, supers are cool, but it's not enough to really save the game from the battle system. There just needs to be more attacks, and not the same attacks. Like I mentioned, characters don't play like themselves.
Take Usopp, one of my favorite characters in other OP games because of the way he plays, he plays like I think he should, as a sniper first and a brawler second. It's reversed. His Y attack is a punch that just repeats itself over and over, while he has the impact Dial as an X move along with his lead star as his up X move AND his down X move. No variety whatsoever. The card system is a little pointless to me other than specials and healing, but for the amount I use it, it works fine.

Really, I don't think this game is worth the asking price. Maybe if you could find it for $30, because there IS some fun to be had, there's all the mayhem of a fighting game...its just that it's been reduced down to 8 moves. This game would be great if they would have just thrown in some directional moves and brought the total number up to about 20 or so. It's just too repetitive to keep anyone's interest for long.
Meh, hoped that helped some of you figure out if you'll get it or not.

I attempted an Usopp one…but my art skills are terrible and I have a hard time with character models and getting everything correct.

I was thinking of this myself…It's certainly possible, but then again it might not be. It could go either way.

What? Luffy? Kick Jimbei arse?! With a punch?!?! No way, josè! Yosaku said that Jimbei was the most dangerous man of the Shichibukai. And remember the trouble Luffy went through defeating Rob Lucci, who's DEFINITLY weaker than Jimbei. And remember Crocodile?! Remember Arlong?!?! Remember BUGGY?!?!?!?!?! Jimbei's not gonna be whopped like that sissy Bellamy.

One thing, consider the source when talking about Johnny and Yosaku. We really don't know who the strongest Shichibukai is. It could easily be Don Flamingo with his powers that can be more deadly than anything shown so far. Or it could be the one we haven't heard of yet.

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking. I can't imagine any way for the strawhat's to beat Smoker other than seastone. I assume Aokiji can be beaten by fire or heat, so I think Sanji would have a small chance.

It's a good opening. Like the song…not to happy with the animation. The thing with the One Piece letters at the beginning had me interested, but then I lost interest.

I'm gonna guess and say it's Luffy vs Coby. It began with Coby, and it ends with Coby. However, Oda is simply unpredictable, and that means it could be anyone.

I saw the mention of Gin earlier in this topic…as much as I think Gin shoulda died, he being Sanji's final opponent is something I never thought of.

There are quite a few reasons that wavedashing can improve your game. I use it to get set up quickly for a quick smash into a combo while standing still. This makes it so you can charge up your attacks while moving. Then while they go up you can either go with an air combo or quickly wavedash back the way they're going to smash em again.

It's great for keeping combos going, changing directions quickly, edge hogging, and moving from platform to platform.

I don't see how people consider wavedashing to be cheating, it's part of the games engine and it can be exploited.

Is it neccessary? No. Will it improve your game? For some characters yes.

Oda said Whitebeard is the strongest.

Lets put it like this.
Could Luffy beat Mihawk? I'm positive that he couldn't right now.

And Whitebeard is stronger than mihawk. I'm guessing much stronger.

What really draws me to it is arcs themselves. Each one is nothing like the last, and brings something new to the table.

The characters…while most of them have the basic personalities of a lot of other shonen, they're developed in such a way that you don't notice it and they seem more of themselves, and not based off of other characters. Then I like how oda sets up the characters each with a dream that they want to accomplish. This lets you think more of whichever character you want as the main character. Sure Oda sets up Luffy as the captain and the main character at first, but from there on out, he never does much more with that then letting Luffy fight the strongest guy every arc. So you're more free to think of the characters as you like in the story. Unlike say Naruto, where Naruto is basically defined as the main character.

The villians are some of the most amazing I've seen.

I really wanna get off the computer more, I just have to much to do on here at the moment, between writing, browsing forums, talking to friends, and watching One Piece I can't find time to get off =/.

That last scene was epic. I haven't seen a scene with that much meaning to it since the march to Arlong Park.

You are able to play Gamecube games on it.

And it goes even further by being able to download NES SNES and N64 games. As well as some from Sega systems, and some other system as well, incase you didn't know.

Even if it does, I'll still probably buy the japanese version…I just couldn't stand the dub voices.

I too got started on the dub. Sadly…I didn't mind the dub at the time. Then one of my friends pointed me to the manga and said "Manga. Now. Much better." Soon I had all the volumes viz had released. And I was hooked by the Kuro arc. From there I wanted to get the fansubs but I didn't have a high speed connection and I couldn't find any well translated DVDs. So I went with the manga and the dub for the time, until I finally got a high speed connection and quickly downloaded all subs. Thats when I really got hooked.

My mom has told me "That One Piece show is your drug of choice."

I was referring to the main characters of each series, but yeah, the elite of One Piece would be above anything Bleach has.

However also right now I believe that One Piece is quickly catching up. Right now I think luffy could beat a SSJ1 in a fight. And by the end they'll surely be stronger.

I always play on Very Hard. It's not all that tough and you'll get a mission each time you fight.

Today I unlocked Trunks Usopp and Gaara.

Trunks and Usopp are pretty good. Usopps specials coulda been a bit better though. Although his Usopp pound charged up is probably my favorite special.

Grand Battle- Better. More fun in general.
GNT- Better.
Narultimate-Haven't played
Budokai-Besides the first two, they're about the same.
SSBM: Worse. SSBM has that charm to it that just makes it the perfect 4 player fighting game. And it has a better health system, better stages, etc.

Played it for about an hour and a half. It's fun, but there's really not much depth to it, and it lacks the charm of Smash Bros.

It'd be nice if there were more OP characters, let alone more characters in general. I feel kind of gypped that there's only one special attack for each character.

I completely agree with you. It's pretty fun right now. But unlocking things is tedious and playing it by yourself will eventually get boring.

The multiplayer is what will keep me playin it.
